Anyone with experience in racing knows they can pop off/explode and all the fluid in the system boils out instantly. Dude was basically sitting in a pot of boiling water for a few secs, adrenaline kicks in and he was so disoriented didn't know what planet he is on. That looks bad, don't wish it on anyone, but he did build it. Probably shouldn't have made it through tech, but hind sight is always 2020. You can say fire suits should be required, but how many other tracks don't require them. Most, if you just bring a car for a track day, you don't need any safety stuff. I've done a drag day where i didn't even need a helmet.

      i think a better rule would be mandated firewalls in front and behind the driver seat. keep anything that could blow or catch fire from ever entering the cabin. fire suits are good but wont protect as well as a firewall. especially in this case.

Cleatus knows what it takes to pass a proper tech inspection since he's failed tech as many times as he has. Dude has no respect for safety, now one of his fans for roasted as a result.

    Why should the public have to pay for someone's own stupidity? End of the day, his fault for not wearing correct safety gear and doing said activity in a vehicle that quite clearly isn't safe or adequite enough. He should be paying for his own mistakes, not the public. It's a shame, accidents happen, but it was fault and to have the audacity to be asking the public to fork out the costs is mind boggling.

    • @JChurchua

      i agree with this BUT he will be paying for it. Through potential loss of work, mental stresses from the burden this will put on his fiancee; from millions of folks seeing the action and thousands of comments about how rididulous the setup is or how stupid he is.... I pray that enough people take pity and help him financially so he can focus on controlling the other side to "paying for it."

Fenders and a firewall alone eliminate most of the poasiblw causes of severe harm in this case. Live and learn. Willing to bet Parker will never have a radiator and exposed hoses anywhere near him in future builds.

    • @RobertMorgan
      @RobertMorgan 3 года назад +1

      There is only ever one rule about safety:
      You are responsible for your OWN.
      Try this scenario: they boot him out of the event in tech inspection, so he goes across town and does the exact same burnout, with the exact same result, and dies because there's no standby help there at the empty lot they went to, no EMS steps away, no one to pull him out, no evac chopper. That's a better outcome?

      Safety rules are necessary because most people do not understand the risks of certain situations, like having a coolant hose right behind them, they never saw one blow off, neither do they fully understand the consequences of being blasted by superheated steam and water, and to expect everyone to be a safety expert for his own sake is absolutely insane. It's like asking of everyone to be his own architect.
