How to Use Textures as Layer Masks in Adobe Photoshop

In this video we'll go over how to use a texture as a layer mask in Photoshop CC to create a logo with a vintage or "stamped" feel.
We can add a unique look to any logo or text with a few simple steps in Photoshop by adding texture as a layer mask.

I have no idea what the issues is but every time i try to copy and paste the texture png it either doesn't respond or just paste it as a separate layer. Beyond frustrating givin how simple it clearly is supposed to be

My texture does not appear the same colour as the original image. It is very bright and almost makes the logo invisible. Any ideas? Thanks in advance

Just not sure, how he is getting the Layers at the beginning. Creates a duplicate or a Layer maks or what kind of layer. I can see one background and suddenly a second one as Layer 1. Confused. Please if anyone knows, help! thx

No Hana, the texture was on a totally different file, he only selected all (command+a) and then copied it (command+c) and switched to the file where the logo is located.

It's so frustrating that from time to time some layers appear out of nowhere and there's no explanation for it. Didn't get nowhere near the result , just some grainy thing and text didn't show at all...
