Thank you so much for your video! 🙏🏽 taught me so much! I wanted a presa because I live alone and someone tried to burgle my house last October. It scared me and I did research into the best dogs. People recommended a German Shepard but I got bit by one when I was 10 and I’ve never really seen the breed the same. A pressa seemed to have all the quality’s I wanted in a dog. I am a girl and my only concern was because he is a boy he may not see my as masculine energy. But I think if I set him task’s where he feels he is working he will respect me more. I will set boundaries and give him heaps of love. Hopefully that will work. I got him today and he is such a good boy already. He is literally just chilling on my bed so.. so far so goood! Thanks again for your response!
Im glad it helped! Thanks for taking time to explain.. You made a great choice for protection & companion.. Im happy you got your pup and wish you well going forward. If i can ever help going forward feel free to get in touch!
PepperedPickles It doesn't matter if you're male or female. Two of the most experienced kennels in the USA cabeza grande and rey gladiator are run by women. These Dogs require boundaries from day one but if you think you're going to train a presa by just being the alpha you're going to fail. These Dogs are stubborn as hell but if you get a presa from a true presa bloodline with working Dogs in there your Dog will have a high prey drive making them willing to work and learn. These Dogs thrive under positive re-enforcement for wanted behaviour and will do anything for their favourite bite pillow or food. It's just a case of finding out what your Dog will work for and creating a strong bond. Also realising what you've got, you can't out train instincts and a true presa is on guard 24/7 and never really switches off. Good luck!
@@chrisbrown1895 yeah I really appreciate your message! I actually took myself by surprise with how well I can really handle him! I have been relentlessly training and giving love. He is responding really well from it. My reservations on not being a masculine energy have diminished as I have figured him out now. I think that was just a concern before! He is doing really well and is super protective of me. I try to make sure he is super socialized also. Thanks again!
The way your eyes are always moving and so vigilant to what is out there is just like me when I walk my dog. I need to see things before she does to give her proper guidance and avoid confrontations.
Amazing and accurate info. People who say these dogs are so easy are simply lying. I feel I got a easy guy and he’s one of the toughest dogs I’ve ever trained
Thanks for this video! I have a 1 year old cream white Presa, named “Winter”. She is everything you described & my best friend. Keep posting my friend.
My goodness they are stubborn! You’re so right. I adopted a 5 yr old Presa from the SPCA who they told me was a Mastiff mix. She’s a full blooded Presa I found out. Researched them after I found out from a vet. Geez… scared me after I found out hate to say. I’ve had her for 3 yrs now though and with lots of attention and training she’s been a wonderful dog. She is sooooo stubborn though and not a people pleaser like my other big dogs were. Confident and quiet and a bit lazy actually. It was hard to find something to motivate her and took about 6 months to even get her to look my way for guidance. We are really close now and she looks to me a lot and follows me everywhere. Never thought she’d get that way and it took a lot of work. Her strength scared me at first or surprised me. I’ve always handled big dogs but she is something else. Lol Love my girl but nobody should seek out a Presa unless they are willing to do a ton of work and give lots of attention and training with patience.
Gorgeous dog man, that brindle she has makes her disappear in the leaves/trees! So cool! It takes a lot of planning and getting ready for one (I'm currently in the planning and getting ready for mine this year) I'm so excited
Bro you looking around like you are about to exchange a package :)).I saw your gorgeous dog afterwards and realized why you were actually looking around :)
I’ve got a 9 month old Presa x American staff male and couldn’t agree more with what your saying. Just came across this video as I have him in training at the moment. Best breed I’ve ever had as long as they are in the right hands! If you are scared or doubtful then do not get one! I got my boy not knowing anything about the breed and it’s taken us a lot of effort and work to have him the way he is. Really intelligent, loyal dogs just so so stubborn 😂🙄
Everytime someone tells me about their Presa, Pitty, Cane or Napolitano and mentions the dogs weight without being asked I feel like I already what kind of dog owner they are. „Hey, my name is Jim, and this is my 165lbs Presa…“ Soon after they tell you How difficult the dog is, and it is not a breed for everyone, but sure he can handle his „165lbs Presa“, cause he is a dog handling god and so Alpha.
I appreciate all of your honesty in this video! We adopted a puppy from a rescue.. they (therefore we) thought he was a Plott Hound mix. Now that he is a year old, there is no way. He recently started viciouslt attacking the back fence because our neighbors have a dog he doesn't like, for whatever reason. He is a huge cuddle bug with my husband and I, but weird with other people. Someone mentioned the Presa Canario to us (I had never heard of the breed) and our boy looks SPOT ON. He is 80 lbs, brindle with a square head. Same build and tail and chest... I went ahead and ordered a DNA test so we'll know if he is a Presa mix for sure. I'll have to get a professional trainer for help if that's the case, it looks like!
Thanks a lot! Plott hounds are quite rare and a difficult breed! And the Presa can be very difficult also.. Congrats to you for adopting to givr a better life👏🏾 .. I would love to see him, do you have pictures?

This is all so true! My girl is 13 weeks and starting to challenge my corrections. What did you do to correct behaviours at that age without being confrontational?
Bro You Speak the Truth because of the Knowledge You’ve obtain through maybe Your miscues or that of Others. Fact is You’re trying to eliminate the spreading of the Misinformation or practices, to cause less harm to the Owner and the Dog. I had mentioned to Someone how not only is this Dog not for Everyone, but I do believe that there are Pups that are less Dominant and therefore can adjust to the Novice. But what I’m becoming aware of is that You’re saying, No, not even getting a more Docile Pup, won’t hinder the inevitable, namely the Dog will take charge. That’s deep. I know of Breeders that do a Personality, Character Evaluation on Their Pups to see which ones should go to what Type of New Owner. This is a way of getting the right Pup for Your skill level. Unfortunately, the CC has become a Popular breed and with that comes all those NEGATIVES. Lack of Obedience Training, little or No Socializing, too much Correction and too little praise, and the most Common problem is what’s on the Other end of the leash, the Owner. Many don’t realize the Unspoken language of the Canine. All these Dogs are actually Mutts, regardless of how much You paid or the Linage. That being said, Their Characters are based on many other aspects, but the only Purebred Canine is the Wolf. The Wolf Pair are exclusively the Alpha. If one of the Offspring want that Position They have to earn it by eliminating the Alpha Male. If that fails, They have to go find another Pack. It’s the same with Our Pups. Be the Alpha and stay the Alpha, and things will be much easier, but the work doesn’t end. It’s Everyday reinforcing what You learned the day before. I get it. But it’s not easy if You’re not Committed. Keep bringing Knowledge Bro. In the end it will rescue the Breed from the Black List, which the CC is on the way to, QUICKLY. One last point, I was asked the difference between a Presa and Corso, and aside from the Presa being taller, heavier, and more stubborn, the Registry of the Presa states that the Tail shouldn’t be Docked. And all the pics I have seen with the Presa, they ALL have Natural tails. Just wanted to get that out there in case Someone was wondering what the distinctions are. Peace.
So I recently rescued a 172 pound male. He is great with me as I am a female, he respects my boundaries, he listens to every command I say, he ended up biting my brother however drying a lot of blood. Now he has finally calm down around him and they are getting along. However he is very picky on who he chooses to like, any tips or tricks?
I have rescued a dog which we are unsure of the breed, believe he might be Cane Corsa, great Dane mix. He is brilliant in the house but we are struggling badly when he's out, no recall, very protective of me and I'm currently just getting over an opperation for a shattered elbow where he took me down. we believe he is about 4 years old going from the vets advice. Don't want to loose him but any advice would be great. He has the same markings as your girl but lighter
Nice dog bro my pressa is just over a year now he’s learnt so much. He knows the difference when playing with me or my daughter ,jumps so high like a rabbit complete nutter and he’s super protective Oh he makes weirdest noises 😭any one else get that from their pressa ?
Thanks man, Thats good to hear sounds like a solid dog👏🏾 .. 😅 They are suprisingly athletic and yeah my old Male used to make funny sounds grunts like a pig and deep voices 😂 Also my current Presa🤦🏾♂️ Not as vocal as my CC though 😂
@@nextgenmastiff3353 GREETINGS , WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT AREA YOU ARE LOCATED AND IF YOUR WILLING TO BREED TO YOUR DOG WITH ANOTHER PRESA I CURRENTLY OWN
Yea I like to say mines fine towards dogs and he always has been with 1000s hours of training as a pup. Never had a problem but if a dog does something bad to him or a person I think it's natural and I dont want to put him in that situation .
After being a pitball mummy for 14 yrs, my dog past away I had the opportunity to get a y months presa and jumped at the chance, I've had him a week now and his learning very quick and is calm his protection instincts are on point , I'm a strong leader to my dog and got a couple of days before we can go out for a walk, I wanna make sure i don't make a mistake on our first walks any tips??
The prong collar is on inside out? But beautiful dog&if someone is shook after ya video I'd say not 2 pick up a presa canario cuz u need to b confidence &learer
This dude is freaken awesome. I'm picking up a 1.5 month old presa. The breeder did some basic training with him. Before attempting to put him in my vehicle and taking him home. I plan to take him for a long walk before taking him home and going over the command taught to him. I believe you have to work with any dog like this before taking it home to set some ground rules...
Absolutely spot on tips! I wish everyone knew such basics, because that's what these are essentially. I've learned that with big and stubborn breeds, you really have to mean what you're saying, presas especially are a very daring breed and will test your limits inevitably. By the way, Khalifa is so gorgeous! She looks just like my first dog, his name was Cent (50 Cent). 😁 Greetings from the island 😁
@@nextgenmastiff3353 His litter mates had equally interesting names 😂🤭😅 I just never changed his and it stuck with him 😁 Sorry I got your females confused, nonetheless they're both amazing 😁👌
My Presa is very good dog.She fears nothing and seems to feel no pain. She is good with my kids and protects my wife. They need training because dog will try to punk you.Big dog can hurt someone
Hi I just came across your video and I have 2 of them. Mines is a Presa Canario and Pitbull mix. They don't live in the same house cause they are 2 males. I heard you say that if you have mix breeds you're not getting the full impact. But what if the Presa traits are stronger in a mix breed. They are 2 different dogs. Mines have a lot of the Presa traits verses his brother.
In the pass i have had pit bulls and German shepherds. 10 months ago i got a mastiff. He is a good dog and seems to obey but im scared of his strength. Omg, even tho nothing has seriously happened yet, im afraid if he happens to get out of control with a person or another dog, it is no way i will be able to stop and control him, with all that power he has. When i walk him and he see a bird or squarle his construction goes out the door. So i brought a shock collar and i swear after a week he has gotten use to it so its not working anymore. What would you recommend? I love him and want to be able to control him properly.
I weigh twice as much as mine so I just attach her leash to my belt and if she tries to go after a squirrel or something my hold is rock solid. She quickly learned she ain’t goin’ nowhere that I’m not going and I’m the boss of the walk. When any distraction shows up I tell her to sit and she does. Just today somebody else’s dog was barking and lunging at us and I walked away from the distraction and had her sit. She has learned that I will handle any issues that come up, but I’m sure that if a situation got out of control like a mugger or stray dog attack she would be extremely fierce. The training is constant.
HI i would to ask somthing so if i saw you with your dogs in park or somewhere and theyre of lead can i come say hello or will your dogs attack me could you reply back on a video
I saw this beautiful girl and her owner less than half an hour ago.. walking through a crowd of lively teenagers.. not causing any problems..I hence to add.. Sorry this is my first time responding to a post.. if l had not had a wee drink..and if her owner allowed me I would have kissed her..Brap! Brap ❣️ she defo capture d my heart! Bravo
That's how they are pick & chose when to listen 😆... If it's a puppy leave it in the crate with some toys.. Start off with short periods then increase the time gradually.. Ignore the barking and whining and over time they will understand they can't get attention from you.
I bought a Presa when he was 8 weeks old now 7 months 90 lbs im retired ive trained him from day one he tests me everyday when u correct him he acts like Eeyore the donkey ive had better luck with rottweilers i wouldn't recommend Presa hes my first and last
People like that shouldn’t have a press Canaria. He/she’s is afraid and the dog know it. They need a lil beagle and go on ablut their life. I hate when folks don’t know how to raise animals and choose to. Just messing up good breeds!

Peace.
Powerful message🙏🏾 Thank you
So I recently rescued a 172 pound male. He is great with me as I am a female, he respects my boundaries, he listens to every command I say, he ended up biting my brother however drying a lot of blood. Now he has finally calm down around him and they are getting along. However he is very picky on who he chooses to like, any tips or tricks?
My dog is great but we've bumped heads a few times over Alpha and I didn't hesitate to let my position be known I'm the man
Great content. Very impressive.
Thanks
I have rescued a dog which we are unsure of the breed, believe he might be Cane Corsa, great Dane mix. He is brilliant in the house but we are struggling badly when he's out, no recall, very protective of me and I'm currently just getting over an opperation for a shattered elbow where he took me down. we believe he is about 4 years old going from the vets advice. Don't want to loose him but any advice would be great. He has the same markings as your girl but lighter
Nice dog bro my pressa is just over a year now he’s learnt so much.
He knows the difference when playing with me or my daughter ,jumps so high like a rabbit complete nutter and he’s super protective
Oh he makes weirdest noises 😭any one else get that from their pressa ?
Thanks man, Thats good to hear sounds like a solid dog👏🏾 .. 😅 They are suprisingly athletic and yeah my old Male used to make funny sounds grunts like a pig and deep voices 😂 Also my current Presa🤦🏾♂️ Not as vocal as my CC though 😂
My girl can jump a 4ft fence from the sitting position. I found out the hard way. She played tag your it for an hour in front of my house!!!
@@nextgenmastiff3353 GREETINGS , WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT AREA YOU ARE LOCATED AND IF YOUR WILLING TO BREED TO YOUR DOG WITH ANOTHER PRESA I CURRENTLY OWN
Drop me a private message on Facebook or Instagram please.
Thanks
They are very vocal and Definitely stubborn dogs i can attest to that
That true this dog are so god an thay are loyal in right hadns
I adopted a 1 yr old Persia Canario she is a good girl but she doesn’t recall and she pulls on a leash what are tips to help?
The prong collar is on inside out? But beautiful dog&if someone is shook after ya video I'd say not 2 pick up a presa canario cuz u need to b confidence &learer
Strong dog needs a strong owner. Simple
Beautiful dog fantastic coat,I'm studying this breed looking forward to get 2 or 3 of them.
Do they herd well?
Your presa canario she's beautiful
Absolutely spot on tips! I wish everyone knew such basics, because that's what these are essentially. I've learned that with big and stubborn breeds, you really have to mean what you're saying, presas especially are a very daring breed and will test your limits inevitably.
By the way, Khalifa is so gorgeous! She looks just like my first dog, his name was Cent (50 Cent). 😁
Greetings from the island 😁
Very true and great way to put it.. 50 Cent 😅 👌🏾👏🏾 thanks 💯
@@nextgenmastiff3353 His litter mates had equally interesting names 😂🤭😅 I just never changed his and it stuck with him 😁
Sorry I got your females confused, nonetheless they're both amazing 😁👌
Great info
Thank you👌🏾
physical corrections are we yes or no? sometimes I have to use them with my presa nothing major though
Beautiful video no lie
Thanks 🙏🏾
My Presa is very good dog.She fears nothing and seems to feel no pain. She is good with my kids and protects my wife. They need training because dog will try to punk you.Big dog can hurt someone
👍🏾👏🏾
I don't think the presa is a good dog for a first time owner though just like a rottweiler or a staffy
My pitbull and German shepherd was nowhere as strong as my mastiff and he is only 10 months.
Training, where are you based?
Do u no any breeders import who can ear crop mate
Good video
Thanks👍🏾

Not at the moment, I may breed my female on her next season though 👌🏾
If you’re intimidated it’s not for you. If you’re not informed on the breed before you purchase, it’s not for you.
i have a presa she good but sometimes she doesn’t listen and she also barks in the cage what is something i can do to prevent that
That's how they are pick & chose when to listen 😆... If it's a puppy leave it in the crate with some toys.. Start off with short periods then increase the time gradually.. Ignore the barking and whining and over time they will understand they can't get attention from you.

hows dogs recall, imagine it bites someone ?
Great video. Do you have contact details as had a few questions. Thanks

Basically if your not a strong/ alpha male type don’t own a presa
How old is she?
18 Months in this video
Get a press cross great Dane
My presa x great Dane female is 50kilos the beast x
I bought a Presa when he was 8 weeks old now 7 months 90 lbs im retired ive trained him from day one he tests me everyday when u correct him he acts like Eeyore the donkey ive had better luck with rottweilers i wouldn't recommend Presa hes my first and last
Put the speed to 1.5 and you can thank me later
If you think a Presa might take over your house; this is not the breed for you.
People like that shouldn’t have a press Canaria. He/she’s is afraid and the dog know it. They need a lil beagle and go on ablut their life. I hate when folks don’t know how to raise animals and choose to. Just messing up good breeds!
