- On May 7, 2024, Steve Albini passed away. In this video, I pay him tribute by discussing my favorite things he did and a few live memories:
- My favorite Shellac recordings (Watch Song, Uranus 7", Spoke, The Crow)
- My favorite Albini engineered recordings
- My favorite live Shellac moment
- Albini's review of Slint's Spiderland
Shellac was one of my go-tos when I would wander around Bardstown road as a teen
At Action Park gives me heavy Bardstown Road mid-90’s vibes
I would add Bastro to the list of another great Louisville bands from that era. He produced/engineered at least one of their records.
Their stuff is hard to find…that band needs to post their stuff to Bandcamp or something.
@@beardsofkentucky Not surprising, th
their records were on the long gone Homestead. I think the same could be said for Squirrel Bait too.
The 2 Squirrel Bait releases are available to stream. They are part of the Drag City catalog as of 1997.
Loved Bastro. I was on a huge Slint Bastro and Rodan binge thru out my last couple years in college.
Id like to get his opinion on the jab..oops
really?
