Well done, clean and elegant. Was surprised seeing a Lumia, I have my Lumia 950xl on my table bare back, the motherboard is probably dead as it sunk at some point, but I wanted to learn how the wiring works so that the phone requires the battery to work. Unfortunately, I couldn't replicate it with my Poco f1 as the battery doesn't have a + and - pins, it has an FPC connector and I don't know how to deal with it.
A bit late here. Have you tried detaching the BMS from your OEM battery so that you don't have to deal with the whole FPC connector mess? The battery pack along with it's protection board solders to OEM battery BMS which then connects to phone via FPC connectors.
if it is samsung higher end phone it could be becos u have to take account the pin next to the phones input battery terminal . it seems to send signal to the phone that it is not connected. i tried directly connecting 3.something volt to the input battery terminal but it starts up n shuts down soon
Take the BMS board. It probably has 3 to 5 wires connection to the main board of your phone. Use the original BMS board, and solder your external battery on it
I try this and it worked .i use a zte battery to power a samsung galaxy j3 and it turned on however when i try to chargwe it it saids the batery is not compatible how can i fix the charging problem. Do you think it has to do with the bsi and btem wires not connected??? Please help me
Well i know that if you have a battery of the same voltage it can be any kind of rechargable battery what i think hes doing here is wiring it directly to the positive and negative pins of the phone as long as its the right voltage it should theoretically work

this is very useful because you dont have to solder anything directly to the phone and still can use battery when needed

lol it's not "without battery" if you solder battery cells to it.
