    If someone want to do same, needs same capacity, same quality, same voltage levels, same charging cycle, same sizs of battery in parallel for steady performance.

The TSA people are quick to point fingers :( My aunt lost a new apple laptop to them because she covered it in black satin material so it wouldn't slide on her lap while typing. Never got it back. $2500 down the drain.

    Hello. Wouldn't it be a good idea to install a charge control chip in the batteries to prevent overcharging and overdischarging? that would make that even if the iPhone tries to charge it above the voltage it will not allow it. And don't let the battery cells go below a certain voltage either.

    • @vuaeco
      @vuaeco  2 года назад +1

      In theory, yes. But in this case, no. I don't even use the "lightning" port to charge the phone any more as I can just plug it on my own XT30 connector on the back and charge it 10 times faster. That "lightning" port is not so lightning any more, it's obsolete. So if I don't use it, I don't have to worry about it overcharging my battery. As for over discharge, I'll talk about it when I post an update video later on.

    If those cells are from Big Battery/Battery Evo or whatever other name they use then they are going to capacity test around 4850mAh most likely. None of the ones I bought were over 4900mAh. I think 17.25wh was the highest I got

      You're absolutely right. Iphone uses high voltage Li-ion batteries that overcharges more than 4.2V (no wonder why they die so fast, talking about engineered obsolescence!). I'm not planning on using the original charging port to charge this battery anyway, too slow. I'm using my RC charger to charge it at 6A using the XT30 charging port on the back.

      I found some 18650 Li-Ion cells that are made to charge up to 4.35v. Six of these 4.35v cells in parallel would be perfect for this mod, where someone would prefer to use the iPhone's charge port.

      Some of the LG's of that Salmon color are 4.2 , and some are higher voltage, you have to check the exact cell model code. The higher voltage ones may only be 4.3 though - i'm not really sure - the sanyo's are the best pick. thanks!
