Oh yea there are large variations fore every head and tape, but thanks i just need some average numbers to check overload headroom for my playback amplifier. Firstly i guessed about 7 mV, this with gain 50 dB should rise to 2.2V
Awesome. But probably over my capabilities. I am original owner. Can I ship to you for repair. Everything works but tape play transport runs intermittently
Hi. Great video. Thank you. I am about to service my ZX 9 which I have owned from new. I would love to know if you happened to measure the THD after frequency response, and if so, what were the results? I have restored many Nakamichi decks including my two 680ZXs and have always used my standard test equipment but this time around I am going to use my newly purchased T-100 software like you are using. It looks very good…almost like having a real T-100 in the workshop! Thanks and regards avss01
Thank you so much for the reply. That is great performance. I still love my ZX-9 after 38 years of ownership. The only thing I have done to it over the years is replace the polypropylene capacitors, clean and lubricate the mechanism and check calibration. I enjoy the fully manual approach and accessible bias and level controls. I really enjoy your videos.
Where exactly do the two small Nylon washer go on the Capstans and are there similar washers used on the LX-5 Deck?
2:42 No discussion of removing the tape transport.
Hi, your work makes good motivation.
Can i ask?
What max average peak to peak voltage on playback head output
Thanks
Depends on the head coil, I have observed between 20 and 50 mV

You are welcome, I have measured 0.8 and 0.9% on left/right channels

Which capstan belt have you installed Siarhei?
116mm half length from the batch I ordered in China
@@hifirulezzz that’s good to know. The ZX-9 can be tricky to select the right belt.
