3. Go shopping in the malls
4. Eat the street food
5. Traffic can be bad
6. Do research online first
7. Dress modestly
8. Ask the price
9. Get out of the city
10. The people are extremely friendly
11. Download grab and GoJek apps
Indonesian subtitles have just beed added!
Janet! Where’re you? We miss you 😘
Are you from Ireland? That is my guess based on your accent
What other travel tips would you give to people about Jakarta?? SUBTITLES COMING SOON!
I would suggest to use an e-wallet rather than cash because almost all places in jakarta is accepting a cashless payment(even on the side of the road) and there is a lot of cashbacks and promos to save your money!
keep healthy janet 😍👍
I recommend coming to Sukabumi, it is close to Jakarta, 200 km / 4 hours. Sukabumi has beautiful nature (there is a geopark). searching in youtube about Sukabumi.
1. Took grab/gojek to go around.
2. I rarely bring cash, e-wallet all the time.
3. Manage a clear and strict itinerary , and check the operating hours for some places. Some of them require booking or online registration before hand.
4. Visit places and eat at places which are highly recommended by locals.
Use Cashless money, E-money, and uang pas. Because traffic jam, i suggest to use public and Gojek transportasi.👍😎
Indonesian People are very friendly.. especially for Bule..dont hesitate to ask, they will help you even though they dont understand your language..🙂
And mostly Indonesians love to take pictures together with western people (bule)
@@TheRajaKATIL how's about take picture with pakle ?

it is normal that Jakarta has more malls than whole Ireland: Only Jakarta has a higher population than whole Ireland. LOL
I really love your video´s
as a local, i confirmed these informations are legit.
haha glad you agree :-)
Lapis legit
Legit is delicious😂
lol...fyi, Legit mean sweet, Lapis mean layered, so lapis legit is the name of the traditional layered sweet cake, You should try it sometime Janet 😆

yeah central or maybe i would highly suggest you to stay in south jakarta because that is the most advanced area in jakarta. the sidewalks and transportation is more developed.🤘🏼
true, lots of great restaurants in the south too!
"In Jakarta, the cheaper the food the more delicious it is"
My slim wallet couldn't more agree 😂
Fighting
lol dude this is soooo true!
Quote of the year
The delicious one are the cheap one and the very expensive one. In the middle is meh

Sounds like a ten years living in Jakarta from your tips.. that was so cool though ❤️
Absolutely agree with janet......
Now this is some accurate information. Hope you always have a giod time here in Indonesia👍👍👍
The best district is south jakarta.. The food is cheaper, The air is good less pollution, Lots of greenery, The mall is more huge and more best item sell in south jakarta's mall, Lots of Fancy Restaurant and hang out area. Before Covid South is the best night life and the best place for night club, Top notch.. And lots of expat live there so you can mingle with other expat as well.
Where in South Jakarta? Please be more accurate

Hopely you enjoy your holiday during In Indonesia
Amazing, you can grasp that conclusion from only 5 days staying in jakarta. And i can confirm, those are true
Welcome to Jakarta👍👍👍
Yes you're right about price, even us as local but from other city, always ask about price for taxi.
Suggestion, just use grab or gojek for transport
The whole indonesia is beautiful
Tks Janet. Clearly
Thanks for your tips for someone who will visit the city where I work...Janet...
Wow Janet you make me surprised, these informations are great before come to Jakarta.😄
For international tourist, just hop on the airport train which will take you directly into the heart of central jakarta. There, hotels are easy to be found. Simple🌞 yes pls do visit indonesia, after covid19 pandemic ended🙏🤭
First time commenter here. If you want to visit Jakarta as a tourist then yes, Jakarta Tengah is the place to be. But if you want to graduate from the tourist level and try to live as a local, then I encourage you to stay in Jakarta Selatan (South Jakarta).
West Jakarta you were stay (Taman Anggrek) not so far from everywhere. Because this area just borderline West - Central. Actually thats the strategic place, you can find Transjakarta Halte just across the bridge from Central Park near Taman Anggrek :)))
Yes agree...It is only 5-7km away to central Jakarta as Taman Anggrek isnt located at the edge west of Jakarta...but for people who dont live in huge city may consider it is far enough for them to travel
Thanks Janet
Terimakasih informasinya semoga saya bisa ke indonesia dalam waktu dekat ini
It's great to see the video of your adventure in Indonesia, I hope when you return to banyuwangi please try ayam betutu mbak Timah, one of the spicy chicken berutu, I hope you like it, there are 2 kinds: fried and ungkep. Greetings from malang, Indonesia. thanks.
Some day if you visit Bandung, i recomended go to "Saung Angklung Ujo". Angklung is traditional instrument from sundanese. Angklung made from bamboo and that sound very uniq. Beside angklung instrument you can learn see wayang golek. Wayang golek is traditional puppet from west java.
Pengalaman luar biasa 👍👍👍
I feel like $20 isn't super expensive for a meal but I'm from the US and that's about the cost of a basic meal at a sit-down place. But yeah! Super useful video. Thanks, sis.
point number 8 also applies to local tourists, asking the price first is better than regretting it later... 😅
Thanks mam.
Janet .. Try to go to kepulauan seribu Jakarta
Janet!! What great feedbacks and tips for those who haven't visited Jakarta!! Being born and growing up there, it does make me miss being there!! Esp the amazing foods!! 👍😍 However, was wondering about the safety in Jakarta knowing how huge the city / the region is!! Did you feel SAFE the whole time being in Jakarta?? Even though people were super friendly to you and always try to help you out in anyway they could...
As an ex- Jakartan, 😉🤗 it seems you didn't get a chance to experience long enough in South Jakarta (where I grew up). To the best of my knowledge, it is the greenest, easy to go around, tons of AMAZING street foods to try, and (maybe half?) a place of where expatriates live. Pondok Indah Mall is where I used to hang out. Oh Em Gee!! How much I miss Blok M shopping center too!! 😢 .... btw, ANOTHER great video, Janet!! Very useful to those who haven't visited Jakarta and surrounding areas! 👍👍.. Salam Kenal untuk kamu, dan Tetap Sehat, Janet!! 🙏😊
Why did you leave Jakarta?:)
@@koboihenk school, love life, future 🙏😊 I still visit Jakarta every other year though to visit my dear mom and family 👍😊
👍👍👍
I live in jatiasih, bekasi, 15 mnt from Jakarta. I haven't been to Jakarta this year..
Hilarious😂
Even with moderate clothes u still get the stare in jakarta.. not many foreigners around as it was in bali
Selamat siang buat semuanya kk trimakasih bosquee 🙏
Thanks for this! Will April be a good month to visit?
Is it safe for solo female travelers even at night? Thank you
Hi Janet. I am a solo female American expat in Vietnam. I discovered you through your Taxco video. I really enjoy your content. I am reaching out to you because you seem in the know and you seem like someone who would be kind enough to share information. I am planning to come to Bali sometime in July or August. There's a bit of an exodus from Vietnam right now due to the change in Visa policies during the current lockdown...and I have to leave. Can you recommend a trustworthy visa agent and also an inexpensive hotel with a covid package? I would greatly appreciate it. Would love to meet up in Bali if you're around. Thanks.
jakarta has LRT too but u didnt go to east jakarta
KRL is actually the metrosystem like MRT , u can go to 478 km away to around jakarta and surrounding city so by KRL u will save alot of time, for example from east jakarta to the west or south jakarta to the north only takes 20 minutes contrary by car /road that can be two hours
to go to Bandung and other cities, u can catch long distance train
👌
👍💖
You can try to visit Ciliwung river, you will get Jakarta from another side.
Mantap Janet 👍🙏❤️
1 suggestion, choose a street food place that is crowded with buyers, that's a little guarantee that the food is delicious and always fresh. I applied it for a dozen years living in Jakarta
Jakarta is ok for 2 days. See Batavia and the old ships in the doc then escape the heat and pollution. Indonesia and the people are wonderful. Go elsewhere and explore.
True...dont go out on the weekend ...or if you must...just get there the earliest and go back early too. Dont go out in the morning and afternoon rush hour...other than that It’s okay i think 🤔
Saya kagum dg orang2 inggris bahasa ingrisnya lancar banget..
...
Lol 😂
haa
Friday - Sunday inside Jakarta, Monday - Thursday outside jakarta = best plan to avoid crowds
