  • A match between Freddie Mills and Len Harvey in 1942. After only 4 minutes of fighting time Len Harvey claims his title.
    Titles read: "BOXING - FREDDIE MILLS KNOCKS OUT LEN HARVEY".
    Tottenham, London.
    At White Hart Lane football ground we see Freddie Mills and Len Harvey preparing for their boxing match before a huge crowd of 30,000 spectators. Mills and Harvey are introduced.
    During the first round the fighting is even, then in the second round Mills puts Harvey down for a count of nine. He gets up and Mills goes in again. Harvey is punched through the ropes and falls out of the ring and onto the ground. He is counted out and Mills has his hand raised, the winner.

    Freddie bombs out an over the hill Len but then has his potential career frozen due to the war. Freddie still made it to the top but sadly mis-matching (to put it mildly) ensured his career was over very quickly. Len Harvey was a tremendous talent at many weights but just could not make that final step to world champion level.
