    Best free tip I've received in a while! Thanks! You can do all of this with single-strokes, too. But it will have a different feel altogether even though the accents are the same. Both ways are great depending on the song!

    I use six stroke rolls in a lot of my drum fills. They're always handy and sound great.

    Great explanation of this rudiment. I’ve always done a rrllrr llrrll 6 stroke roll, but that sticking is usually limited to one handed (left or right) double (diddle) accents, unless you can do a shift between playing surfaces during double (diddle).
    I was aware of the sticking you use, and that it was more common on a drumset (rather than just a snare) but never gave it much thought until I saw this.
    Keep up the vids and drumming.
    I’d love to see (and learn) more from you.

    I live your style and energy.
    Suggestion:
    1. Can you put the sticking on screen as you say it?
    2. Also, the flashing light is kind of cool, but steady lighting might make the focus more on you and what you’re playing.
    Just thought, I really enjoyed your video.
    Cheers,
    Steve

    • @TochSticksMusic
      @TochSticksMusic  Год назад

      Still same thing man..
      You'd just have to train your weaker hand (right hand).
      Balance the strength & speed of both hands.

    • @humbledrummer777
      @humbledrummer777 Год назад

      Yes you kind of have to learn it both ways, leading with the left or leading with the right for it to be the most useful. It takes a while.

    Nice. Spend some time doing rudiments on the drums and cymbals. No bass drum. Just get creative and really fluid moving with the hands only. Add the bass drum later and thank me later.
