Have you ever thought about talking about Possibly in Michigan? Or maybe Cecelia Condit’s body of work more generally? Possibly in Michigan has been one of my favourite movies since I was a teen and I’ve love to hear your thoughts on it
Review Faith: The Unholy Trinity by Airdorf and published by New Blood!!!
The Devil Inside has all the hallmarks of a Ryan Hollinger video. A demon possession, a found footage movie, and a film with no ending that melts your brain.
I had a revelation about the internet's tendency to be contrarians with LITERALLY anything when I talked smack about this movie's ending on a film nerd group, and they proceeded to call me a negative nancy and that the ending was an incredible example on the power of suggestion.
I was like, yeah, the film cutting to black and telling me to go finish reading the ending on a website instead of actually filming it - I mean, MOVE ASIDE KUBRICK amirite??
@@danwilliams2551 Film snobs don’t care about smart filmmaking, just what films can make themselves appear smart.
The thumbnail is scarier than the actual film.
15-10 years back it would have been a good creepypasta
@@geeker6350 that’s a pretty embarrassing low point.
@@malaisto925now that's a backhanded compliment
@julianalvarez4231 lolol
You weren’t scare of the usual body/bone cracking like you see in every exorcist film lol
My immediate thought when I read 'worst demonic possession movie' was, "wait, he hasn't done The Devil Inside yet?"
My thought when seeing the thumbnail was "Ohh...it's time, isn't it?"
Ikr?
With the amount of time he's mentioned it over the years, my brain assumed he already covered it 10 years ago.
I saw this in the theater. My God, the way the audience turned on the movie at the end was insane. Never before have I felt such unbridled frustration/hatred at a film before.
Same vibe when I saw The Turning. I was especially annoyed since I'd read the book and seen the older movie it's based on called The Turn of the Screw.
Dude, I saw this movie here in Rio de Janeiro and when it ended, I shouted "Fuck that shit" and the people laughed. I hate this movie and love this moment.
God, I saw this movie with my *mom* when I was 13 and I still remember both of us walking out of it wondering how you could fumble so many ideas so badly lmao.
"Unfortunately, the plot then begins" Fucking christ, that was such a brutal summation of this film right there.
You could say stories never mattered nowadays…
It always irks me so much how many of these demonic possession horror films just throw mental illness discussions into the trash while still incorporating it into the plot, feels really really disrespectful especially given that most 'exorcisms' were just abuse being done to the mentally unwell
Yeah especially bc sometimes those exorcisms *kill people* who just need psych or seizure meds. I thought They Look Like People was a great twist on the weird lessons horror movies often have about mental illness. Like, sometimes it really is just in your imagination, maybe give it a minute and listen to your doctor
Correct. Every "possession" is just mental illness, and their treatment at the hands of the Catholic church is nothing short of criminal.
'most'?
@@SinStar87 Some were definitely done on mentally sound kllIers.
@@SinStar87 There's plenty of other stupid reasons too like being gay or disagreeing with your parents
one tiny thing that always bothered me is how the image of the blind nun is often used in thumbnails on streaming services when she's literally in one shot - not even a whole scene, just a shot. not the movie's fault, just a nit-pick. great video!
Cause that’s actually the movie’s poster and yeah that have always bothered me too cause it doesn’t have a reason to be
@@sadasela genuine thank you for the info i feel even more validated in my frustration over this now
@@KoiControl You're welcome! Yeah I remember when that movie first came out and when I saw that scene of the old nun I was like? Seriously? lol
Every shitty possession film that comes out just makes the Exorcist look so fucking GOATed. They both created a genre and PERFECTED IT in ONE ATTEMPT. No one has ever done better what that film gave birth to. And they’ve had decades.
Not even themselves, tbh! All of the Exorcist sequels and prequels are rubbish compared to the original. There are some good exorcism movies that I personally like (Ryan mentioned them: The Last Exorcism and The Exorcism of Emily Rose), but the OG will always by my favorite.
I think The Blair Witch did something similar with the found-footage genre. Not many movies could meet the gold standard they set, not even themselves. The first Paranormal Activity movie is up there though!
Absolutely. The Exorcist is by far untouchable. Friedkin and blatty
Why are you talking ghetto. You're not black. Don't say "GOATed".
@@Jay-qh6uv Very accurate, hard to top the original (feel the same about Alien!) though Exorcist 3 isn't bad at all, I think the series is also well made. But I'm actively avoiding the most recent sequel attempt, as I learned that Reagan's mother infers that the two priests had prevented her from taking part in the exorcism due to patriarchy, then the solution is straight out of the parody film, Repossessed!
Friedkin said that! And I’d say he knows a little more about the Demonic Possession Subgenre than YOU do, pal, because he INVENTED IT! AND PERFECTED IT SO THAT NO LIVING MAN COULD BEST HIM ON THE SILVER SCREEN!
The thing with the blair witch project is that the whole thing was building to that point. It didn't just stop. The sudden end was it cutting the whole tension of the film. There's a loose three acts to the movie. A Start, middle and end. It doesn't stop as the creepy stuff starts happening, this sounds like if the movie stopped before they started finding shit in the woods.
And such good foreshadowing, it's all there, and it pays off. Devil Inside seems to have a worse ending than Open house.
It's cheaper to do a horror possession movie because you only have to pay one actor to play two people.
This needs way more likes
Dude 😂😂😂
Unless it’s a dude playing a dude playing another dude
Imagine hiring Milla Jovovich…and her daughter.
I SAW THIS IN THEATERS AND I AM STILL ANGRY ABOUT IT. I swear I bring this movie up any time I need to rant for a while. That non ending was so infuriating. I needed this video. This is cathartic lmfao.
dude seriously, i was 13 and paid for my ticket with allowance money that i could have better spent on art supplies. its been 12 years and i still want my money back
"Stay away from the Vatican" - for once the 'stay away' segment actually yields sensible advice.
That line legit caught me off-guard and I cracked right up - hilariously brutal! 🤣😆
It really does not

We... we don't even HAVE psychiatric hospitals anymore. We closed them all! In *1996*.
I saw a tweet that showed a random screening of this movie and the amount of people that went "Noooooo!" to "What the fuck?!" just shows how bad the ending really was.
Imagine paying $20 to go see a movie, only to be assigned homework at the end of it.
@@WobblesandBean lol mannn I honestly can't even fathom the rage that would've manifested. 😂
I saw this in theaters, and the crowd actually booed.
Ngl that sounds kinda funny
I think if the Devil Inside had just been that one scene of the possessed contortionist it would have been a really solid short film.
My biggest problem with most possession films is that exorcisms are a real danger (though not in a fun supernatural way) and the way they tend to rail against the Catholic Church for no longer supporting exorcisms basically supports those real life dangerous exorcisms. One interesting possession movie is The Old Ways which is a possession movie where traditional Nahuatl 'witchery' replaces the Catholic church and also uses possession as sort of a drug addiction metaphor along with discussing how colonial ways can isolate someone from their indigenous roots. A good portion of the movie is in Nahuatl
That's why I can't stand these films and their reveal of "it's not mental illness, it's really demons!" It's so disrespectful to the real life victims of so-called "possession" and the lives ruined by the catholic church. These horrible people want to bring that back.
@@WobblesandBean I know. It's such a different topic than any other horror movie genre and the way it actively advocates for real life exorcisms is gross. Plus between this and religious apocalypse horror has such a weird boner for the Catholic church
Yeah, you're definitely not biased at all. Cringe take.
@@chuckn4851 It's cringe to worry about the actual people getting killed? And how is that a bias, do some people not care about others getting killed? Being aware of things isn't bias it's just knowledge
I'm so happy to hear you blast this film.
The audacity to give nothing but a "Thanks for the $20, now go do some reading asshole" ending was.... It took guts as film makers, that's a phrase.
"A wise man once told me you should use your platform for good and not dwell on the negatives...BUT"
The noticeable lack of a hoyever really shows how done Ryan is. 😂
"You are stressed to the absolute tits, and you just want to take it out on something." This is the most relatable thing I've heard in weeks.
Delivery: The Beast Within was a pretty good variation on the "is it possession/is it mental illness." It's about a pregnant couple as the woman starts to believe that she's giving birth to a monster. I won't say it deviates much from the formula you mentioned, but it's pretty solid entry in it.
That movie is disturbing to me. I won't say why, but it really got under my skin way more then other possession type movies.
@@crumblingphilosophy9323 The ending definitely stays with you.

I was in college and visiting home for the new year when The Devil Inside and the hype was REAL. My screening was sold out, but the room just deflated when that ending card came up. People were not having it.
Ryan describing Bell as "a curious fella" like Hank Green describing Joe Rogan as "an unusual man"
I saw this opening night. The incredibly loud UGHHH WHAT?? From the full theater was very appropriate lol I felt cheated out of my ticket price! What a joke
The non-ending was so bad that even theater audiences booed at it. There's even video clips on RUclips of this happening!
Update: Another thing about the ending is that by the time it gets to the end of the film, it loses its mockumentary style. I don't mean like The Pyramid where it becomes a regular movie, I mean that there was actual editing, names of people that appear on screen, etc., but as it gets near the end of the film, it doesn't do that anymore and becomes a regular found footage film, and everyone died so who was editing those parts? The movie isn't smart enough to do something similar to what Crow 64 did like a decade later.
Update 2: The website didn't even last for more than a year after the film's release before it went defunct. Cloverfield's websites lasted for like a decade!
Exorcism films are like shark movies and king fu movies. You basically know what you are watching, and you are just going to judge the one cool twist that got someone to green light this one.
This weirdly reminds me of an obscure possession movie I watched ages ago.
The premise is that a bunch of people are live streaming an exorcism where the possessed person claims to be the devil. They obviously dont believe them, because why would the devil possess someone? So they whip out a book and proceed to try all sorts of names and rituals to exorcise this demon before midnight. Then we get the twist right at the end - as midnight comes around, they fail to exorcise the demon who reveals he actually WAS satan and gave them the name right at the start, who then kills the entire group before standing in front of the webcam and possessing/killing the rest of the world.
It has that really weird apocalyptic feel of Cabin in the Woods, but I cant remember if it was any good or not. I cant even remember the name it was that long ago and clearly didnt get much attention, so it would be cool of someone could find it so Ryan can do a video on it if its compelling enough
This sounds exactly like The Cleansing Hour
@@iamspadesx4433 that's exactly what it is! Thanks for that, I was wondering what this movie was called for ages
This director has 7 new films in development. SEVEN. How?????
First "hoyevver" drops at 0:44. The power of He compels us.
An idea for an exorcism movie that I thought of recently is one where a priest has multiple people strapped to beds in one big room in a hospital but each of them are possessed by the various rulers of Hell, from demonology, the bible, etc., and each of the demons have different personalities and mannerisms and a majority of the film would be the demons speaking to each other and the priest, with the demons mostly insulting each other. In a twist, The Devil is revealed to be possessing someone working at the hospital (maybe a random intern), and blended in perfectly, acting exactly like the person he's possessing and only reveals himself when he absolutely needs to. He's very intelligent and cunning, he doesn't do anything like in, for example, that scene during Maria's exorcism where he manages to trick them into thinking that she's not possessed at first, but then for no damn reason reveals himself by screaming like a maniac!
I don't thing anyone in any possession movie is actually possessed by The Devil. The term devil is used loosely to refer to lesser demons in most cultures/languages (think the Jersey Devil). Characters may often refer to the demon as "satan" or whatever, but what actual need would Satan have to possess some rando human? The bible itself says he can walk amongst the earth as freely as he wants. Nah. I think all of these possessions are lesser demons who just have fun messing with humans and causing fear, pain, and misery.
My gripe is that they don't even DO anything once they possess these people; Just end up scaring their families, killing random people, then go sit in a mental hospital somewhere for 20 years. What's the point? If it's all for funsies, fine... but that does get boring after a while. We need a possession movie where there's an actual end goal and reason (like in the movie Constantine, but it doesn't even have to be that extreme) or motive for a demon to go through all of this trouble that makes the stakes a bit higher and the story more interesting.
@@mimsydreams 1: While there were multiple demons in The Devil Inside, Satan was one of them. At the end, when Isabella was possessed in the car, when asked who it was, its response was "You know me. Everyone knows me." That sounds like Satan to me.
2: I think it's dumb for Satan to possess normal people in this movie, especially with the way he acts. I'm still thinking about my idea, but the concept I have is more of a drama with horror elements (I even have some body horror in mind with the patient who's possessed by Beelzebub with some slight inspiration from The Fly), since it focuses on the demons interacting with one another and the priest (there might even be some dark comedy elements with the way some of the demons insult each other). My idea in mind is that Satan is watching over the others (since they are significant demons from Hell), and is also trying to fool the priest into thinking he has everyone in check. Satan doesn't do anything stereotypical like in other exorcism movies (and especially not like a discount Pazuzu like in The Devil Inside). I want his presence inside of a random person to have significance (like blending in perfectly rather than revealing himself and shouting obscenities), and since he's not possessing a high ranking doctor or something, it makes people suspect him less. Also, in my story, it's not that he requires a human host to walk on Earth, it's that he chooses to.
Compared to other horror sub-genres, possession movies might be the most artistically conservative and unambitious of them all, even more so than Slashers.
I remember seeing this in theatre wondering how the hell this got a theatre release.
_"Ospedale mentale di Centrino."_
lol
We don't say "Mental hospital" like that in Italian.
The second you mentioned "the taking of Deborah Logan" I went to watch it. It was a great watch. Thank you for the suggestion. Love the break down of your videos. I hope your channel can get more traffic
This movie is more entertaining if you take it as a dark comedy about a woman trying to make a documentary to cash in on her mother's infamy and drafts two students who are essentially after brownie points for pulling off an exorcism out of class where it all goes wrong because they're all over their heads (I mean, the end is the priest essentially shouting "OH MAN, WE GOTTA CALL MY TEACHER!"). If they'd put the link at the end of the credits, it'd probably would've been taken better.
That's some thumbnail
I've enjoyed William Brent Bell's take on the Orphan prequel, The Orphan First Kill, though maybe the credit should go to the story creators and screenplay writers. Would love to see you cover the orphan series.
I liked those too. I mean o hate prequels in general but if you have to make one they did the best they could.
I saw this film in theaters opening weekend! The theater was packed and we were all excited. I don’t remember anything from this movie aside from the ending cutting to the stupid website link. Everyone was so angry, shouting & yelling. I haven’t had a theater experience like that since. Looking back it is so genuinely funny because who even has the balls to end a film like that? Way to make a pretty forgettable run of mill exorcism film memorable!
The topic of ambiguity vs vagueness has me once again thinking about and recommending Perfect Blue, which is absolutely my favourite horror/thriller (and possibly favourite movie of all time lol). One of my favourite things about it is listening to everyone's takes on what actually happened, since I think it lands on the good ambiguous side of this scale. And (while I would never ask or expect this) I honestly think each of its major themes has enough behind it to fill an episode of their own!
Love your work as always! You make horror really approachable and always have interesting takes on things!
I saw this in theaters and to date it's the only time I ever saw people actually boo a movie. The disappointment, confusion, and outrage that everyone had wasted their time and money was palpable.
Haven't watched the video yet, but based on the thumbnail looking like a creepy top 10 video on youtube, I'm guessing you are correct.
I seriously can't wait for you to talk about Longlegs!
I would have found the ending slightly better if it just cut at the instant of the car-crash. It doesn’t help any of the other problems leading up to it, but the finality would be a bit more defensible on the “it’s avante garde realism.”!
Would it be such a sin to make a Possession Film that makes people believe it's Demonic Possession but turns out the person is actually Possessed by an Arch Angel sent to bring about Judgement Day, and no I ain't talking about that other film that was... cool but nothing special
Legion?
One hundred million dollars grossed against a one million dollar budget back when it came out in 2012. Madness and stupidity...
And now you know why this hack director keeps getting work.
I saw this in theaters, and when it ended, some dude just yelled "THAT WAS FUCKIN BULLSHIT"
honestly, the most scared I got the entire time was the shitty dog jump scare.
wouldn't mind your take on The Dark and the Wicked. It had such a constant dread throughout the movie that I feel most movies aren't able to nail quite as well
Missed an opportunity to abruptly end your review and tell the audience to learn more at an undercooked website that’ll be defunct soon.
I'd love to see you cover The Kindred (1987), I only just heard of it and no one else has ever really covered it. It's an odd one and I feel it deserves some attention.
Listen, I can enjoy a vague ending, even an abrupt ending. But it has to be an ENDING.
The film's plot is unnaturally truncated, yet the runtime is a scant 75 minutes?
Could it have been a possibility that the filmmakers ran outta money?
Seeing the thumbnail I thought “this looks kinda cool, could this really be the worst?”
Then I started watching and I’m like “oooooh, THAT movie!”
The fact they had the gall to end the movie by, just not giving it a real ending, says it all imo
Anyone remember Danika? It was about a woman suffering from schizophrenia or something and spooky things happen? There was that one scare that made me a little hesitant to open fridges for a while
Ouija: Origi of Evil despite its title was a brilliant possession movie. Very disturbing when you realize what’s actually happening
The imagery of this film, cross in the inner lips, blind nun, etc.. is what i remember the most from this
The voice breaking really spoke to me, when I tell friends that this movie sucks I don't think they quite grasp the magnitude. I saw this with my mom at home, she usually didn't want to watch the movies i rented, but I convinced her to sit through this thinking it would be amazing. In the end she just got up the couch and said "never watching films you pick again"
The evil within (2017) is a super weird movie. Like a fever dream; it has nothing to do with the videogame.
The sad part is that Bell _is_ a talented director. For how flawed _Stay Alive_ and _The Boy_ are, I do think they had some good elements of horror, _The Boy_ especially surprised me with the twist and how down to earth it felt. Meanwhile _The Devil Inside_ was just wasted potential and a middle finger to the audience.
Also fun fact: I tried to watch this movie with a friend for our bad movie "watch together" but we were both so BORED with it that we instead skipped throughout the movie and then opted to watch _Rubber,_ aka the movie about the tire that explodes people.
The worst demonic possession film is the Santa Clause
Omg shut up 😂😂😂😂
This is the only movie I’ve ever seen in theaters where the audience openly booed at the ending
Knew it'd be The Devil Inside from just the title. Incredibly frustrating movie.
I know this isn't really your style Ryan but id love a "Found Footage that's actually worth watching" list from you.
Please please do a video on Exhuma! I reallg enjoyed it and would love a video of yours on it.
William Brent Bell is a name that fills me with dread. The Devil Inside is so dire and the ending was such garbage that I literally sat in my seat after the screening with my arms crossed and sulked for a while.
The trailer though? A masterpiece, so much more talent and effort went into the trailer than the movie. That attempted baby drowning scene was hilarious tho.
when I was 10 and saw that trailer (and the fact it said based on true events) made me think the movie had to be good
I still remember feeling so ripped off even this movie ended. Like I wasted the last hour of my life watching something that went nowhere. Been waiting a long time for Ryan to cover this one!
As soon as I read the title, I fucking KNEW what movie it was.
Never again.
This movie and The Vatican Tapes are bottom of the barrel mainstream Possession Horror. I was so pissed about the inconclusive ending. 😡🤬
Don't know if you have watch it yet, but a bad found footage movie, which had a good idea with some biblical themes, is Jeruzalem (2015).
As far as possession movies go, I really enjoyed "Ava's Possessions". A horror-comedy that deals with the aftermath of an exorcism and brings at least something fresh to the table. :)
Should have been called The Devil Inside My A__ __
That's the adult film parody
The only other demonic possession-media that really stuck with me was the game "FAITH", but goddamn was that made for a niche audience.
For me, I'd say the visuals are provocative and distressing with your own imagination applying a skin to coat the bones of its concepts. Buuuuuut for others, it has the fidelity of a crayon drawing and the audio of broken industrial machinery (not entirely wrong).
And admittedly, it took me a try or two to get really into it & immersed - kinda like "Pathologic 2".
From the way you described the premise I would have been hopeful for the movie. Like, maybe make it so the demon isn't hopping around the bodies. Maybe the daughter was always posessed and the mother lied about being the one committing the murders to protect her. Maybe the demon could warp her reality and make her think the others are actually being posessed and when she tries to help them, she is actually attacking.
Idk I am spitballing and none of this is groundbreaking or surprising, but it's better than wtf that was 😅
MY. LORD. I remember when this movie came out. i was in high school and had a friend group that LOATHED horror movies, but were willing to go see them on occasion if they were loud enough in social media. This was one of those. Cut to my brother saying "the power of christ absorb you!" in relation to tampons and woman bleeding downstairs and my and two of my friend horrifying/terrifying/tormenting the last friend in our friend group by turning out the lights in closed spaces and offering our arms and whispering "connect the cuts". Gotdamn. What a garbage movie, but it gave me so much joy as a teenager. So thank you for this review Ryan, and just know: it wasn't for naught
For no reason whatsoever my worst demonic possession films are
1) Devil's Due
2) Exorcist Believer
3) The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It
Devil made me do it isn’t that bad but I respect that
When I saw the part telling me to investigate the website, I was like "did this movie just given me homework?"
Already knew what the movie was based off the thumbnail alone. Didn't watch all of it but that movie could've had so much potential LOL
I remember when this came out in theaters the commercials said it was so scary that people were screaming crying throwing up then when it actually came out everyone said it sucked 😂😂😂
I remember seeing this in the cinema with my friends, and the reaction from the audience at the ending was a lot of confused laughter and people audibly asking if there was a part two.
A really great abrupt ending that always gives me chills, is the one from the Inside No. 9 episode Cold Comfort. It's so simple, but so effective.
“Worse than The Pyramid you ask? There’s a chance.” OH SHIT
ive been aware but haven't seen this one before, and just from your quick descriptions of the major plot beats, i fully get the frustration. there are SO many building blocks for a good story in here, but they were used as window dressing instead of the foundation. its a real shame 😔
Dude, seriously, eff this movie. Im with you on this one 100%! When this was coming out I was super excited for it. When I finally saw it in theaters I was beyond disappointed & pissed off. The ending made me rage & I was so irked that every important scene in the movie was given away in the trailer. Eff this movie!
i like the parody though, wayan brothers if im not wrong, can't remember the title though
william brent bell is kind of an interesting director to me because (with perhaps the exception of The Boy which maybe is only an exception because of how silly and bizarre it is) his films have some interesting original concepts presented within them, but ultimately kind of coast on their existing influences. it seems like The Devil Inside pulls from every trick in the demonic possession film book, and from my perspective watching his more recent film Lord of Misrule, that one feels like a patchwork of folk horror staples with some ideas that could have been interesting but ultimately remains derivative.
Maybe it's just me, but I swear this movie sounds like if a studio were trying to make a movie adaptation of Faith : The Unholy Trinity, and got some of the plot points right, but absolutely missed the story
Ok, that's something interesting for me to think about.
I remember this garbage. Early 2010s. I rented it from a red box and i remember feeling completely pissed and swindled by the ending.
I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who finds exorcism and possession movies to be bland as hell (pun intended). Hereditary did something different with it and it was amazing. I don't know if it's because I'm not religious, or if it's because I was not raised in the Catholic faith, but I just do not care about demons or Satan at all generally.
I always got this mixed up with The Taking of Deborah Logan, mainly because the usual promo piece for this was the possessed mom so I got them mixed up, and avoided the ACTUAL Taking of Deborah Logan movie for a long time, thinking it was "the terrible possession movie that ends with a website plug". In my defense, these exorcism movies all have terrible names that make it easy to confuse them.
I remember being hyped for this film with that creepy nun on all the promos and she was only in it for like ten seconds! I love a bit of found footage when it’s done right but this was such a let down!
Long time fan, Ryan. Love your work 👍🏻 I know you primarily do film reviews but, it would be awesome if you made some videos of some of Mike Flanagans shows/movies. Particularly The Haunting of Hill House, Bly Manor, Midnight Mass and The Fall of the House of Usher. Just a humble request from a subscriber, keep up the great work my friend 🤘🏻
I'm enjoying this "Worst *insert genre* in horror history" with the werewolf one and this one. It's a good way to learn what makes it fail and how to fix it.
"Life doesnt have perfect structure." yeah well people paid for a decent movie soooo...
I’d be curious to see what you think about Oddity, a new Irish horror film! I saw it at a film fest a few months again, I thought it was good.
I’m starting to wonder if this movie would’ve been better if it focused on the two persists:
Two covert exorcists who work behind the backs of the church get way in over their heads on a case dealing with something far more insidious than they’ve ever encountered in their lives, all the while uncovering the conspiracy related to Isabella’s mother.
Not a perfect idea by any means, but probably a lot more compelling than the final film. Still, it’d need to have an actual ending.
I legitimately do not remember if I've seen this movie because I've seen so many exorcism movies and so many of them are just utterly forgettable.
I hate it when movies copout with the "it's supposed to be true to life" argument. A Simple Man is about the randomness of life, but it still explores its concept with depth and provocation
oh god im now remembering the whole problem with abrupt endings is that it starts to get good then NOTHING
that was my whole problem with "we need to do something"
This movie could have a great sequel called the the devil released.
Movie starts: small 3 sentence exposition card, roll to traffic cameras of a woman running from a car wreck. A few cuts of seeing her running unnaturally fast in traffic cams. A security camera catches her climbing a wall at a hospital. She breaks in and finds a woman in her room. The woman in the room asks in 3 distinct dialects if its time and the woman who broke in violently smashes her brains in and kills her.
Switch to multiple tv reports of a massive rise in homicidal attacks on people around the city. Intro is finished and title card pops up.
The rest of the movie is spliced together body cam footage of two groups of bounty hunters working together to find the 4 demons who escaped.
Movie ends relatively successful except one demon is missing.
