  • The Panthers run the most predictable offense in the NFL, and Bryce Young is paying for it. Sure, there are plenty of issues that he brings to the table, but between a bad receiving group, and an even worse offensive line, the Panthers were forced to run the NFL’s most predictable offense. Is there any way to improve? This week’s episode uses the coaches all 22 to analyze Carolina Panthers Quarterback Bryce Young as he operates the NFL’s most predictable offense.

Yup. I was just thinking earlier today that "at least we have Peyton Manning's rookie season to point to as proof that Young did slightly better with less to work with."
I hate this. This is The Channel that got me interested in the NFL again with a video Clearly Distinguishing Between play-calling & player talent.
& the past few months they have reversed this. Like right here saying Young misses his mark on a play.
You can't just shut off the part of your brain that has to occupy itself with the o-line missing pass rushers & make plays as if this is never a problem. It's the reactive part of your brain. It _looks FOR_ consistency on a subconscious level & when it starts looking for it if it doesn't _find it,_ that part of the brain *looks **_FOR it_** all the harder.* In fact, _not having_ to watch out for a defender now _upsets_ the expectation & will throw off his game more.
Hopefully he can reset this season. New circumstances may mean he stops looking for it. But it's also possible he _doesn't_ reset or doesn't right away. They upgraded their o-line, not overhauled it.

Having said that, I felt like you spent a ton of time on the Falcons game, which was the very first game of the season and his first start in the NFL, and framed the shortcomings of Bryce's game as if it was something he continuously struggled with throughout the year. He probably did, but it would have been nice to have seen more of those tendencies and shortcomings shown throughout the season instead of the first game over and over (could have driven the point home better showing the same mistakes happening multiple weeks and shown how nothing got better). I think the Panthers made the trade with the Bears to get Bryce Young, which probably ultimately gave the Caleb pick to Chicago. The other trade that was really bad: I think the Texans got the pick to take CJ Stroud from the trade for Watson with Cleveland. And of course CJ is probably a top-5 QB already. At least I think so.

@@walter9243no, he literally was BELOW AVERAGE at processing. Y'all only say this because he's short. He literally failed to beat one of the easiest blitzes to beat time and time again. In his sophomore season, Texas A&M started to put all of the front on the line of scrimmage and left the middle of the field wide open. They would put two linebackers, or one linebacker and a slot back on the same edge. Both came in hot, nobody in the middle of the field, and he never found the open guy, because he can't see over the line. Multiple teams employed this same tactic, and he never adjusted. He never was on schedule. He never could hit timing throws. He's not a processor, quick decision making, type QB

TBF Stroud would struggle as well with the Panthers receiver group. Stroud did great work but his receiver group had tools to separate. He could grip and rip mid field laser shots to 6'4" Nico Collins or when Tank Dell could get an inch of breathing room with his speed. Where Stroud really showed off was when the Texans didn't have their O-line healthy for the first 7 weeks and he had to do a lot more to get the passes out.

You want a better scenario? Young gets injured, the Panthers trade for Fields in desperation, Fields out-does Caleb. It's not like he couldn't.
*This channel **_USED_* to be able to distinguish between on-field talent, play-calling & end results. Now it seems they pick narratives then cherry-pick plays to support those. They got it right with Greg Roman in Baltimore.
But how tf does a channel that does analysis miss this fact; Fields _ALWAYS_ hits his targets. Always.
When you eliminate being backed up against your own end zone & you'd either have to throw the ball 10 yards in the air or risk throwing it right into the hands of a defender because the play-callers called for all the receivers to go 6 yards or less out (see, play-calling causes those), players not running their routes or falling down, even Aaron Rodgers misses his targets more than Fields. He kept hitting Mooney & Claypool in the hands for incompletions & INTs.
He made the Bears the #1 offense 3 weeks straight *BEFORE* they acquired D.J. Moore then the Bears cancelled all those plays that did this. We have video footage of o-line plays where the instructions seem to have been "run away from from or ignore pass rushers." & again,l same problem with Young, how do you revert your brain to normal when you never know when your o-line effed up?
To me, it's obvious they wanted to sabotage him to have an excuse to draft Caleb. So him getting the chance *&* resurrecting would be great. Doing it on the Panthers would drive home exactly how crappy the Bears' _HC & GM were towards him_ & that they made a Huge Mistake.
