  • Today's video did not go as planned as I was expecting to have a good sunset ride in laguna beach, but unfortunately my E-bike just bricked up and stopped working. I have had this problem in the past and thought the recalibration feature had fixed the problem but unfortunately my bike is not outputting any power. The bike goes through all the power cycles but does not let the motor kick in. Even after recalibrating through FAZUA Toolbox the bike worked, but I noticed the Motor would kick in super rough and felt very unnatural. I Sent a ticket over on Wednesday 7/24 but have yet to hear back from Fazua.

Transition was late to the game. If I had to buy one today I'd probably be going Bosch motor only. No fazua or shimano for me. I do wonder how the Yamaha motors are working. Brands like Giant are taking a Yamaha motor and tuning it and kinda calling it their own thing. But glad y'all are guinea pigging this tech for me :) So I can buy a nice reliable lightweight one in the future lol

Welcome to the ebike world. Motor failure, TCU/harness failure, the list goes on. After 3 years of playing the game......the juice isn't worth the squeeze unless your pockets are deep.

@@billryan8721 haha yeah I think it might be time to switch over to Bosch. I heard they are the best in terms of reliability.

If it's any consolation, I've owned 3 different brands - Specialized, Trek Fuel EXE and now I have the same bike as you. Two of the three have had motor failures. My specialized broke out of warranty and it cost me $1,000. My Trek Fuel Exe was under the two year warranty and so the motor was replaced at no cost. I don't want to say it's a dirty little secret, but I don't know of any e-bike motor mfg. that will service their motors. They simply swap them out when under warranty. That is all fine and dandy, but if you're out of warranty I would budget for about at least a grand out of pocket. These bikes are totally amazing but there is certainly a downside if you keep your MTB past the two year mark.

Yeah I was stuck in decided if I should keep the bike for the 2 years since we have warranty or move on to another ebike. Possibly Bosch motor?

My bike shut off at the end of a ride. I pulled the battery out and put it back in and it was working again. I’ve written a few times since then and everything still works

@@user-jh4bw2bd9m yeah I would have that problem too but I think it was mainly due to dirt/grim where the battery hooks up maybe.

I’ve been considering the Transition, but after seeing so many motor failures, I think I’ll find some thing from a different brand. The bike would be amazing if they could figure out the motor issues.

@@JohnSmith-mi8zy yeah I will say that they are warranting my motor, but if you would like reliability I heard Bosch was really good.

Have you contacted Transition? Looks like it's powered on but if the motor isn't engaging then it seems like some kind of control issue. Has to be a way to reset back to default right?
Just got a Relay myself and been on a handful of rides so far. Not a fan of the ring controller, especially after dirt crept in from a wash
out in a sandy switchback. There's an updated controller available which Ive heard improves things. Bigger magnets... Good luck with your rig.
