5 Reasons Why I Switched Over….
In today's video I will be talking about 5 keys points on why I switched from a 360 Camera over to a single lens action camera. Within the 5 keys points I break down why I decided to NOT upgrade to the X4 but rather switch over to a single lens action camera which right now is the Dji Osmo Action 5 Pro.

Testing NEW Dji Osomo Action 5 Pro - Real world POV (Mountain biking)

In today’s video I’ll be testing out a new camera the Dji Osmo action 5 pro! I got this camera as I have been wanting to switch over to a single lens action camera for some time. This camera is an interim camera until my insta 360 ace pro 2, but since insta 360 had not updated the public on the ace pro 2 delays it maybe sometime! I am super happy to try this camera out in the short term and hop...

Those trails look super fast and dry. I’m loving my Action 5 Pro so far. 😉
Bending the metal plate backwards where the battery connects helps greatly
@@yofoo138 yeah I’m just afraid of snapping off the weld lol
I really like the way that the camera turns when you do. Great footage!
Wow!!! That was an elevator stomach moment at 'stay right!'
😂it always happen when you're showing off to some cute hiker! LOL. But on a serious note, footage looks super clean and the audio does sound crisp. Are you using wind muffs over the mic(s)? I'm debating to upgrade myself from Action 3, and this is making me consider it much more now.
@@MTBr-of-SoCal hahaha learned to not jinx myself, and nope. The audio is just set to auto wind reduction. Ive been suprised at how crisp the video and audio has been!

Ah MILfs in Aliso.. 😂
Loool 🤣
I just got the relay due to it being a sweet looking bike and super capable but did your LBS have to send your old motor in to get a new one that’s why it took long?
I believe my LBS received the new motor first and then sent in the old motor.
Gnar Garden of Gnarco #NorcoMTB
Is this recent? Is there snow right now?
@@astrocademy this was about 2 weeks ago. I don’t think these trails will get snowed on as they aren’t really high elevation.
💔😔😭
I see that you are not a local, and I totally understand the confusion, but could you please not use the names or show the entrances/ exits of secret trails in Laguna and Aliso, we highly appreciate it
Honored my home Trails in Norco made your list 🤙🏼
There has been a lot of work up here the last year. Most every trail at Skyline is Steep. Great ride, especially going in blind.
Great to see good riders ripping Norco. Its a little dusty and those brake bumps are annoying. Still fun to watch. Thank you
That fence tho!!
@@SomeOldDudeMTB I have looked at a trail above the houses back to the park, but there are a ton of boulders at the foothills. I'm sure eventually Wyle labs will be shut down. 🤷🏻♀
@ I have to find this trail. We ended up hike a biking up deep sand around the back. Would have been better to wrap around
I always worry I'm going to encounter a hiker on the last section of Lower Block. But it is fun to let the the bike roll
No one leaves unscathed through the gauntlet. Sucks when you're looking out for a homie and sacrifice your forks.
Yes... that fence at the bottom of Candy is quite the buzz kill. It is supposed to keep the horses safe from cross traffic. There is a climb out straight off the rock drop in the works. 🤙

It’s so weird to see so many people with Fazua problems. I have 2 bikes now, and had a third, with the ride 60 and never had an issue with any of them. My Relay and Skitch get used a lot and no issues over the last year.
@@thomassobelman8350 yeah it’s looks like it’s either a hit or miss with this motor. I think the motor is great but just has a high failure rate.
🔥🔥🔥
I agree with you. It’s an incredible motor/bike when it works. I’m experiencing intermittent issues with mine, like motor cutting in and out, assistance issues plus battery warning light issues. The motor only has 200kms on it. A new firmware update has just been released so I might try that and see how it goes
It looks like you are running into the same issues I had 😅I didn’t have any warning lighting however. If the update doesn’t help out at all I would warranty it and so far my warranty motor has been great!
That’s promising! Yeah on my third ride I had flashing warning lights indicating a ‘battery missing’ issue. Now with the motor issues too, I definitely am losing confidence in the system. Thank goodness for warranty
Epic ride! I just did this back in April myself but I don't remember some of those jumps being there lol. Def must be new stuff.
@@MTBr-of-SoCal Hahah yeah this was a first time for me and my friend so I think we were surprised on how fast some of the jumps come up on you. I’ll definitely have to come back!
Bought a relay about 5 weeks ago. Had it for 2 weeks, rode 70k, 4000m elev. torque sensor then was broken . Now it’s in the shop still waiting for a new rotor. German quality my ass
@@binshuo aw man sorry to hear! What year and month was your motor?
@ the app doesn’t tell the year but the motor version is 2.0. I have read somewhere they are on revision 4 or something. It’s great bike, I feel confident and planted all the time. Does feel heavy on the way down and climbing feels pretty natural, only slightly inferior to TQ 50 system. Overall a great bike and I got it on sale, 7000 Canadian dollars for the alloy PNW build(haggled $500 off the already on sale sticker price). Hopefully new motor is more reliable
impressive! :-)
Thank you!
🔥🔥
I own a 2024 Heckler SL with 1750 miles on the original Fazua motor. Not one single problem! Never have I heard any rattle, so it appears that Santa Cruz has secured the connections/battery well. I live and ride high in the rocky mountains of Colorado, so the bike never encounters warm or hot stuations. Electric motors don't like heat. My guess is that is the weakness of this motor, as the bottom radiator is much smaller than similar motor designs and can have flash cooling from water crossings.
@@paulmaag6958 interesting! I wonder also if it’s because yours is a newer motor. When I bought mine I noticed the Motor was made in Jan 2023 so I’m wondering since then the changes they have made! But yeah I totally agree with you because I didn’t run into any issues until it got warmer out
Mt friend has had nothing but problems with his Heckler and now finally got his motors replacement. So, it just seems to be when the motors was produced and not the brand its on
@@SidiNic yeah it might be that all the earlier motors that were originally put on the bikes from factory might be duds
My Pivot SL now has 1200 miles and without shutting off once and with the original motor, I throughly enjoy this bike. It does have the latest controller ring that was properly installed (don’t over torque and position correctly) with new one up bars. Also, I have properly retorqued and greased the motor mounts according to Pivot’s exact procedure and overall the motor is dead quite with normal whining and no clicking of any kind. The bike also has the latest software and with “Mountainbike” profile, which makes the bike ride perfectly and with good range. Your replacement motor likely rides differently because the profile is not the same. I suggest you try mine.
@@timwilson9120 I’ll definitely have to try it out!
Good info. I have a version 2 motor that had torque sensor issue in less than 80km and now I’m waiting for the new motor as well. Could you share where FAZUA stated the new motor comes with a refreshed 2 year warranty?
Great video bro keep up the hard work 🎉
@@BahBoosty thank you broski!
I must admit that I did not quite like this ride lol They should probably not really advertise that its 'for everyone including beginners'. I was lagging so far behind I didn't even really get to descend with everyone. And there were people WELL behind me, trying to be part of the ride. As well as zero emphasis on direction despite it not being a new ride/route. Among other things. But yeah. I love Kenter and I've ridden Jedi before and it was ok fun if not worth the climb... But the group pace is not conducive to a beginner or even like an unfit intermediate. It sounds like if they want to include beginners they should do a separate ride and clarify. Dunno. Maybe the dudes I saw on hardtails looking like its their first ride were okay with getting completely left behind. Never saw what happened to em.
Yeah I do agree with you on some points. I feel like the pace was faster than I expected and was kinda suprised how fit everyone was when I consider myself relatively fit. It’s interesting that you mention people were dropped tho. When I attended the Saturday morning group ride on 11/2 I saw the group leader Jason wait for eveyone on the initial climb and ask if there were people still climbing. But then I did notice at the end of the ride there seemed to be less people then what we started with… I agree that maybe there should be 2 separate groups one with Advanced/Intermediate and then beginners. I think it would be more inclusive to true beginners and edge them into the sport alittle easier. But in all I think it’s great that this is even happening with the power of social media and hopefully things will get more refined as time goes on!
@@Chris-505 I think, naturally, what happens is people who aren't familiar with the ride get halfway up the climb and go 'wtf is this ride?' and probly turn around and leave. Ultimately it would be fairly easy to do an actual beginner group ride at like Inspiration Point instead or maybe even Ken Hahn park to be honest. But... That's neither here nor there. The only true change needed is making it clear its not really appropriate for actual beginners... And it really isn't a good ride to do 'half of' basically. Which is just pure paved fire road lol. So I feel really bad for people trying to break into MTBing and thinking this group ride would teach them a lot. And its a glorified road ride, with no pay off if you don't at least get to the first singletrack turn off. Which is like what half way up at least? Brutal But ya. First time, last time. I'm not even big on those trails. Not when I can jump at Kenter, crush quick laps at Ken Hahn, or do a proper ride somewhere like El Prieto.
Nice going there tormorow and I’m hyped
I also have the transition relay, I bought it back in March. So far it’s been pretty good other than occasionally turning off. I guess that’s just part of this motor. The bike I had before had a Shimano motor and I don’t recall that one ever shutting off. Like you, I plan to keep this bike long-term, so we’ll see how that goes.

@@jeanpieerjean7356 oh wow, how old was yours?
@ spring 2024 🤦🏻
@ oh wow yeah i bought mine around February 2024 and only got like 200miles so around the same time yours died 🤔
I went through a Ride 60 about a year ago. Have over 1000 km on the bike since. Works fine. The only thing it does do is turn off randomly. Seems to happen after time out from sitting. Then it starts up. Then it doesn't. Just restarting seems to make it behave. Didn't notice any performance issues between the old and new motor but I use a custom power curve.
I run a velcro strap around the metal bracket holding the battery, that helped a lot. But also check the wiring 👍
Below the battery, there are 2 wires connecting. If it‘s not plugged properly, disconnects can happen on impacts, happened to me when after i slided the motor out i didn‘t properly connect it. Also clean the battery connector and the connector on bike side just to be sure :)
Thank you for sharing! I definitely have been prudent about cleaning off the battery connector on both sides but for the 2 wires under the battery I will tape them together with some electrical tape!
@@Chris-505could you solve it? :)
I’ve tested at least a dozen E-bikes in the last six months. The only bikes to shut off while riding, have been the ones powered by Fazua,(Relay, Heckler SL). Despite that issue, the Relay is still my favorite. The guy at the shop where I rented the Relay said it was a somewhat common issue because people were accidentally hitting the ring controller. I say BS. I know I wasn’t hitting the controller. Fazua needs to address this issue.
Interesting! I thought it would only be the Relay that had shut off issues as the battery is removable. I do agree it sucks when you’re going through a rock garden and you go to pedal and then there’s no power. Something I did notice on my test ride is it was happening at first then after the first hour it stopped auto shutting off. Not sure if it’s sensor related or something?
