  • After riding the Trek Fuel EXe for a few months, I've been itching to tryout the Transition Relay. It's a touch heavier but with 170mm of Travel front and back as well as a Fox 38 it's right up my alley. I was able to ride my usual test track in Transition's backyard of Bellingham, Washington and with the time I saved even got some laps in at Galbraith Mountain.
    I rode the carbon PNW XO AXS build so my expectations were high. Let's see how it stacked up!

    Thanks for the review. I wish they would start making it easier to search for EMTB's with a removable battery. Kinda a big deal for some. Thank You for a great review!

    For those up hill tight turns, after some time you'll get to know to pull up on the front so it's off the ground, and use the power and rotate around.... took me some good fails to figure it out. 👍🏼 ( practice on the flats first, I also learned that after some fails 😂)

    One of these days I'll find this trail system.
    Looks like an awesome ride!

      Wait I recognize the rock roll around 8:15. Isn't this the trail system that the broken tool trails crew is building?

      @@NICADVwhy not post the ride route, what’s the secret ? What was Transitions answers to the problems you found ?

      @@michaelmann3636 No one has asked the routes before, so I've never thought to include them. The guy at Transition just said they would take a look at it. I ran into a friend with the Relay the next day and they have the same noise from the battery cover. He just added some duct tape.

    It can almost pass as a non-Ebike. I can't really tell there is a motor. That is one slack head tube angle. 63.5. I wonder if that is why the switchbacks are a Beotch.

    • @NICADV
      @NICADV  3 месяца назад

      Agreed, these mid power e-bikes look more normal. The head tube angle definitely doesn’t help but I was able to make the Spire and Patrol which have similar angles.

      You can hear the motor + still looks like a pregnant bike. A light ebike should look like a normal bike in my mind...this one looks like normal full powered ebike, no!?

      @@SsmAnyfeSt it’s definitely a loud one and the looks aren’t as refined as some, like the Trek or Santa Cruz

    Great video. That first trail looks very gnarly. This bike is what I want but I think Ill wait for the next iteration, looks like it needs refining in a few areas. You say it wasn't as nimble as a Patrol, is that because of the weight or longer chain stays perhaps? I have a Patrol but haven't tried Relay.

    • @NICADV
      @NICADV  3 месяца назад

      Exactly on both accounts. The reach is also longer and the BB is lowers so it gives it a planted and stable feel but that takes away from how nimble it can be.
