crystalized continues to show Poppy's homage to genres in decades past. this screams 80s but the cool 80s. we all know she loves 90s and early 00s. she makes great music that everyone can love.
@@danielparrott8339 yes!!!! have you heard "after destruction" by Descartes A Kant? so similar to what Poppy's doing. there are also bands like UV-TV and Sweeping Promises that have a real 80s alt rock vibe. not exact but you can hear it.
I never listened to a full Poppy album until Negative Spaces dropped and I was blown away. So reminiscent of late 90's early 2000's electronica, techno pop, alternative rock, grunge, punk, metal it has everything and of course produced by the one and only Jordan Fish. So good!
Of the two songs dropped this one is pure ear candy(crystalized),I like it alot and the visuals are superb! Poppy is my favourite artist and she rocks!
the lyrics for "whats the cost fo giving up" are so good, she did very well with that song, good mix of all her different features and growth in the metal scene. most balanced song. those loooows too! shes def been putting in the work
I’m really happy poppy has lost her darkish popish synth side yet, she use to mix this style with metal music all the time and now that she’s becoming more popular I guess she wants to keep them separate and I love both songs 😊
Not sure, but I think the "low" scream was just pitched down. Still, The Cost of Giving Up is my fav out of the singles so far (I felt immediately drawn to the title for some reason)
Poppy does what she wants and she does it so well. Can't wait to get my hands on that album.
She's pretty much the reason why I can listen to anything and like it 90% of the time; She just makes every genre she does WORK

"Crystallized" screams MARINA to me, and I'm all for it!
I was getting Röyksopp / Robyn scandi electropop vibes too.
i think it sounds like 80s alternative.
@@miked4309 Yup and Röyksopp like their 80s influences. Have you heard "Do it again" and their cover of "Ice Machine"?

crystallized is somehow my favorite single so far! Jordan Fish synth pop is so good.
crystallized would be good in cyberpunk
omg yeah
Yesssss
I love them both because I was already a poppy fan before she tried metal!
The Cost of Giving Up is my favorite Poppy single thus far, I adore it!
Something about the chorus speaks too much to me. It honestly tears me up a little every chorus.

Sameeeeee
Everything Jordan touches is just glorious

One of the most underated artist to exist
Really nice piano in the second one. Crystallized is a new favourite.
I'm just so glad her label is giving her freedom in her art. She deserves all the love ❤ I'm also low key hoping for a double feature album 🤞

i like this vid. subbed
Of course we need to hear more about you meeting Jordan Fish
I’ve shared some more on that in my recent live review video of House Of Protection ✅
I'm living for that low scream! 🎉
"driving in your car kinda music"
Yes lol
Really looking forward to this record! Looks like we're gonna get some good variety on there!
Yeah me too! Very promising indeed!

Getting heavy Bloc Party vibes from Crystallized.
Great shout! Haven't thought about that band in a minute, they were fun live
Coup is clearly an individual of great taste ✅

I know exactly what Bloc Party song your thinking of to is it Flux? Lol
@@Owenator26 YES!
Watch that eerie crystallized ending transition right into "they're all around us"... 😅 "COWARD!" [face melting] . I'm stoked for this album.
It actually drops into the trippy interlude "Hey there".
Actually it goes into a yet to be released track called Vital 😁
@@psstitspip OK....sorry, I must have been looking at an incorrect track list for the upcoming album.

I actually think that one was her real lower range. She has a great lower register. She's probably been working on the scream.
@@jessiehoolahoopsmcgeeher first Tatiana moment, then!
Nah, I don't think Poppy would let a "computer trick" on a song if she couldn't really do it herself.
I think she's just been practicing A LOT!
After Bring Me The Poppy we have Synthpoppy!
Crystallized is so good , but the other one sounds kinda off
Poppy, it's like the Dua Lipa of the metal world! 🔥📢
Poppy is more talented and creative than Dua
