I did not know there was a dust cover and in it is the nut holding the drum, I tried so hard to remove the drums and it did not budge.
Only if I knew earlier thanks man for the video.

    Minor corrections:
4:31 I say "vertical" but meant to say straight
13:45 i say "backside", but there isnt really a front and back side. I really should have said "other side" or top side.

Yes. But your discs and drums maybe larger than mine and your drums may use a different style of auto adjuster than shown in the video. I think in Canada 2017 and newer get the larger brakes.
You can see photos of the differences on mirageforum.com

Seems a lot more complex than disc brakes

The parts are all very cheap. Springs are basically free and the auto adjuster appears to be stamped metal. In 2012 when the car was designed rear drums were pretty common. disc brakes of this time period usually used a drum brake within the disk as the ebrake. This would of course be much more expensive. Here is a diagram of what I mean: ww2-secure.justanswer.com/uploads/drivefast1971/2012-01-02_135225_1.gif
Additionally there is a slight benefit in using drums because in theory they are lower friction compared to disc brake pads that constantly rub against the disk. Some manufacturers(I think gm) have disc brake designs that attempt to pull the pads away from the disc when not braking to save gas.
Modern cars of course have electronic e-brakes or sometimes(rarely) have a mechanical disc e-brake.
      Thank you for watching!

@@welfarewagonrepairs Interesting. I've had my 2015 since new and the rear brakes are what mechanics have trouble with so I decided to learn how to work on them myself.

@@tiburcio729 I tried to replace them myself as shown in the video, my aftermarket shoes did not fit. I cut my finger open out of frustration when reinstalling the old shoes and I made a mistake that resulted in the simultaneous loss of both the service(pedal/normal) brake and the e-brake. I recommend going with OEM shoes they should fit and hopefully won’t squeak.
For over 1 week I sat at home in pain with a split on my finger. I plan to release a video about my experience next month depending on how well this video does.
