Eufy S1 Pro Robot Vacuum + Mop Unboxing & Technical Overview
Unboxing the Eufy S1 Pro and discussing how the revolutionary Mopping and Vacuuming mechanisms work.
Overall I am pleased with the way the robot functions and am only slightly disappointed with the noise output and with the risk averse navigation logic that prevents the vacuum from operating in reverse to mop tight spaces.

    I recently bought a brand new 2024 SE, and I immediately noticed that it had horrible long dry starts every next morning, the oil lamp would take a couple of seconds to turn off after starting and you could hear the dry rattle of the engine, just like when you start up with an empty filter after an oil change, and I live in tropical 90F+ climate. I discovered that the OE Mitsu filters don’t have an anti-drain back valve, what the heck? I pulled the factory filter off and yup! It doesn’t have one. I replaced it with a Champ Labs USA made filter (my favorite brand, they make filters OE and aftermarket filters for a bunch of brand names). Problem solved, now it starts up and builds pressure almost instantly. Thankfully mine was just 187 miles in 😂. What I’m still concerned is of that 0w-20 recommendation for all temps, I live in Puerto Rico, we get 120F+ heat indexes almost all year round… Why does the US spec Mirages get 0w-20 recommendation in the manual, when the rest of the world gets the multi grade/temp graph up to 10w-30? I’m pretty sure it is the exact same engine…

    • @welfarewagonrepairs
      @welfarewagonrepairs 24 дня назад

      Oil viscosity is likely chosen to meet fuel economy goals and takes into account the weather of the North American market. There’s a lot of discussion around oil viscosity and the different recommendations in different markets on Mirageforum.com I personally do not think that high ambient temperature will have a big impact on the recommend oil viscosity as the operating temperature of the engine is always much higher than ambient. I personally only use the oil viscosity recommended by the owners manual as I would like to keep my warranty valid. Thank you for watching!

    And when the car is on the ground tighten the lug bolts to 90lbs torque BY HAND. You tire "techs" gotta stop using your air ratchet and you impact drivers to over tighten the lug nuts. I've never in my life snapped a lugbolt until I snapped 2 out of four after a tire "tech" mounted tires on my daughters car. There are also automatically resetting fuses available. It’s likely setup like this to force users to disassemble and inspect the machine before resetting it. It’s also causes the machine to fail when the user does something inappropriate. For this particular machine the water reservoir was removed making the user feel at fault for its failure and more likely to replace it. If the reset button was accessible people could also try and leave something in the hole disabling the fuse. Thank you for watching!

      I installed it where the factory one would go if I had the higher trim with the touch screen radio. It’s all plastic above it. GPS quality is not good. Using Waze the gps works much better but the phone also gets warm. I think they are using the phones gps in combination with the radio. Newer cars will use the can bus data for speed and steering position to help with gps. An aftermarket radio can never compete. The radio gps works fine as long as I don’t drive downtown. There must have been a reason why the water ran dry and the element overheated. If that issue is not resolved, the same issue will happen again. Probably the unit has a clog in the water path because of scalling buildup or some other clog. The fuse blows to prevent a fire, that’s the concern, safety, and why it’s not customer resettable.

    • @welfarewagonrepairs
      @welfarewagonrepairs 3 месяца назад

      Yeah I think its a reliable vehicle but I would not buy one new today unless you are getting a good deal on it. There are rumors that the vehicle will be discontinued next year which would lower its value. It's also not a great value in todays market. You need the top trim (GT) to get basic collision avoidance in Canada. No Mirage offers the basic features that come with a Toyota Corolla such as: more than double the horse power, rear disc brakes with an electronic parking brake, telescoping steering wheel, heated windshield wipers, Blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert, lane trace assist, radar cruse control, wireless CarPlay, independent rear suspension, GPS tracking. Not to mention higher trim Corollas features (heated steering wheel, remote start, nicer seats, All wheel drive, sun roof, phone charger, available hybrid system, better sound system, better fuel economy with active grill shutter). The LE trim corolla in canada is 27k MSRP. The top trim Mirage in white is 22k. If I was in the market for a new car I would definitely get the Corolla LE trim or higher. I tried the radar cruse with lane tracing assist in a Corolla before and it is life changing.

    • @welfarewagonrepairs
      @welfarewagonrepairs 4 месяца назад

      Yeah, there is a solenoid in the shifter. It’s called a shift interlock solenoid. It actuates whenever you press the brake pedal while in park. If the car is in park it will prevent you from shifting (e.g knee hitting shifter) without first pressing the brake pedal. If you look closely at the shifter there is a small plastic square that can be removed to allow you to bypass the solenoid. You would do this if it jams or if the car battery dies and you need to shift into neutral. (On other cars some people remove this bypass to make the car harder to steal via towing)

    Crazy place to put a reset. Makes me think it's so people just throw it away and buy a new one?

    • @welfarewagonrepairs
      @welfarewagonrepairs 4 месяца назад

      Yeah, automatic/self resetting fuses also exist. It’s probably like this to both encourage you to throw the machine out and to force you to inspect the inside of the machine before resetting it. If you search online you can see photos where by the time the thermal fuse blows some of the machines internals have already melted.

    If my dorman radiator drain plug is bad and it is dripping does it only drip when the car is running or only drip when the car is parked or will it drip all the time snice the plug is bad?

    • @welfarewagonrepairs
      @welfarewagonrepairs 4 месяца назад

      I have never seen an after market drain plug for this car before. I am not sure doorman makes one. It’s possible that it will only leak when the engine and coolant are warm as the radiator is under pressure, it’s also of course possible that it will leak all the time. Have you checked if the washer on the plug is damaged?

    Go to an auto parts store and ask for a coolant system purge funnel. makes the job so much easier. You MUST get all of the air out of the cooling system or you will have what is called an air lock which means the coolant will not circulate throughout the system and the car will overheat which could cause major damage like a blown headgasket. Google how to purge air from the cooling system. There are many and they show the special funnel used for this purpose. Also, if you have a Harbor Freight store near you, they sell this funnel. Trust me it makes getting the air out of your cooling system so much easier.

    One of the best videos I have ever seen. Thank you for also explaining the mechanism of the coolant system.

    Very good video. One thing I do after filling the radiator is to slightly jack up the side of the car that has the radiator cap--in this case, the driver's side. This makes the cap on the "uphill" side of the radiator. Then when you run the engine, as the coolant circulates the bubbles come to the cap and burst. This ensures you have no air pockets in the system. Add any more coolant if needed. As the coolant warms, it will rise up out of the cap, so shut the motor off when or before this starts to happen.

      Thank you for the kind words. Jacking the car up is not necessary because if you look at a photo of the radiator online you can see that the top of the radiator is already sloped towards the cap so that air will escape with the car on level ground.

      Is the “door open” light on the dashboard also on? Have you tried using a screwdriver as shown at the two minute mark in the video to test if the switch in the latch works?

      Yes sir, all 6th generation mirages 2012-2024 are very similar. If you have auto start/stop (not available in North America) then you will have an electric cvt fluid pump you may need to remove to access the side filter
