Most in media + content space are either ignorant or lazy to look at Newcastle’s performances this season. Usually, they’ll say the opponent were off it and bad. She’ll say “hold up, here are the X, Y, and Z reasons Newcastle were very very good today.” And that’s against all clubs, not just Burnley.
She was probably the first person to tout Gordon for England call’s and Isak being regarded in **that** class of strikers worldwide

I enjoy it too, she is usually my first watch after a game as well, its better to hear a neutral view (allegedly) and I think she is very knowledgeable about the game.
Alice, wax lyrical about Newcastle as much as you want. You're one of the only pundits that ever has anything nice to say about us. But to answer your question, yes I do think Newcastle will finish above you this season.
People/ some pundits are to reactionary these days. They see Newcastle lose and say sack Eddie Howe. Sadly a lot of pundits don’t bother researching injuries and what could be impacting NUFC, they just look at money spent and results instead of judging Newcastle fairly this season.
Next season, Isak, Gordon and Barnes up front with Joelinton, Bruno G and tonali behind that. Can’t wait!

Think a lot of newcastle fans don't understand, but Hall was not at it early on in the season. Hall was brought off a few times at half time, and Howe admitted that he needed time to adjust defensively. We're now seeing the rewards for all his hard work on the training ground - so that's why Howe didn't play him earlier. He needed time to adjust to our style of play (especially defensively).
Facts. Even Bruno didn’t get into Howe’s team straight away.
Remember Gordon also not play much at last season
He's played a big role in our success last couple games

Think you’ve nailed it in your assessments. Gordon is my Newcastle player of the season. Hall and Tino are fantastic at carrying the ball forward. I hope we keep them for many years to come.

You’ve also summed up the attributes, contributions and potential of key players really well, and I think many nufc fans would agree. Burnley was a good result for us in what was a potential banana skin fixture; even more so since your loss to cpfc last night (who we also lost to just 3 games ago). The next 2 games are key for us now - Brighton next week (our final home game of the season), then you guys. It’ll be down to the wire, I think.

Eddie Howe said that he wanted Lewis Hall to work on his defence before they put him in the deep end. He has now had the season to do this in training and now opportunity arises with our bulk injury list.

Bear in mind we were ahead of you on goal difference with equal games played until we got beaten away at Palace. So good luck with that, you will probably need it. Can you imagine if we hadn't had so many important players out through injuries, at on time we struggled to fill the subs bench without putting two goalkeepers in the mix, I'm looking forward to next season when everyone is fit and our Italian stallions back after his suspension, we will strengthen our squad of players in the transfer window even if a few free transfers.

Alice that an excellent analysis of the game👍 as for Hall the rumour here in Newcastle are that Eddie wasn’t happy with his defensive positioning at the time so he’s worked tirelessly on making him a better player off the ball and it’s paying dividends now.
Yes we have players coming back as you said Joelinton getting 20 mins also Miggy as they’ve been out for months Joelinton since early January, Pope on the bench he’s our best keeper bye a mile so hopefully he’ll be back against Brighton next week.
As for the Man U game it’s probably 50-50 who wins but if you lose to palace and Arsenal then we will be strong favourites but nothing is guaranteed and your capable of beating Palace but Arsenal is a different story, and if we do pip you to 6th it makes the FA cup final even more important for you, having said all this Spurs are not guaranteed 5th place we both could catch them as they have Liverpool and City to play then Sheffield United and Burnley and the way they are playing it’s no certainty they will beat Sheffield and Burnley so it’s starting to hot up, also if we do finish above you it will be the 1st time in the PL we have achieved that.

Your knowledge of players from other clubs is better than a lot of fans of the clubs themselves 😮 I'm a toon fan and despite absolutely despising Everton i always said there was a great player in him too. Was chuffed when we signed him, which was definitely not a popular opinion. He gave up on Everton because nobody there had his drive or determination and the fans turned on him. Lost his love for olaying for the badge, which was sad. He's found his new home now though ❤ ◼️◻️

bruno's best position is in defensive midfield position, as the anchor midfield man, spraying passes about with being able to break up play as he tackles and turns the play over, Not sure what your obsession is with furthering him up field, yes he can play further a field, but bruno is the best defensive midfielder there is out there bar none.
I wouldn't want him playing anywhere else, plus he has the ability to carry the ball and dribble past players then shoot and score screamers from 25 yards out.
I wouldn't replace him in that position with anyone else out there in the world.

Anthony Gordon 10 goals and 10 assists he has to go to the Euro's with England, take him along with Foden/Saka etc etc. He's inform creates problems for defenders and scores.

United do have a left back who I like and that is Max Verstappen AKA Brandon Williams. What do you think of Brandon Williams as a left back. I think his career has been mismanaged at United. He even went on loan to Ipswich, a strange situation where he was never going to get a game ahead of their own LB Leif Davis. Williams did play a few games for them in midfield scoring 2 in 2 before Christmas, showing that he has talent going forward and versatility. He has barely played since.
For the good of the player United should either back him as a potential first team player or move him on to a club that actually want him and have a plan for him long term.

Joelinton back is huge tho,esp ahead of a trip to Old Trafford..any extra resilience in midfield to help the bandaged defence is massive right now. There is a chance Tripps could be back for that one as well,but Im sure most of us would be more comfortable with Tino dealing with the pace of Garnacho or Rashford than a potentially just returned Trippier tbh.

And Palace are a team that tend to do well against the bigger clubs, whether that be draws or wins.

Newcastle had the joint best defence in the league last season because we had Botman and Pope in the back 5 and they played almost every game that season. So the reason the defence hasn't been great this season is because Pope and Botman have missed the majority of matches. So I think with these 2 back next season then the defence can be good again, and with the team free scoring as it is then you're talking at least top 4.
I can't help but think we're we might have been if Pope and Botman hadn't missed the majority of the season.
If we had the same defence as last season, throw in the amount of goals we score, then you're almost talking about a title challenge, certainly at least top 4.
