1.Powder out Piece of Mosquito coil. 2. Mix baking soda with coil 3.Powder out raw peanut 4. Cut ripe tomato in half and place coil mixture on both pieces . 5. Sprinkle Crushed Peanut over coil & Baking soda. 6. Place in area where rat frequent. 7. I would crushed out a bulb to dust and add to the mixture
I heard mice hate peppermint so I have peppermint sachets around my garage to keep them away. I found that putting in snap traps with bait can actually attract them inside so now it put the peppermint out to repel them.
@helenholdsworth6407 I agree that for those in certain areas of the country that are prone to flood water and high rainfall, you are correct. I did my own research on Leptospirosis. The state I reside in, we have other diseases that are a more common issue than Leptospirosis. However, it is a nasty problem no matter how you look at it for everyone involved with a mice/rat infestation issue. Sometimes, drastic measures have to be taken if the natural ones are exhausted and fail to work.

You wouldn't want to leave it out too long, or you would have another problem of gnats/fruit flies, and they are a beast to get rid of!
But less risk of Leptospirosis.
