Effective Preaching 20:00 Loving Jesus, Spiritual Maturity and being filled with the Spirit John 21:15 So when they had finished breakfast, Jesus *said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you [a]love Me more than these?” He *said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I [b]love You.” He *said to him, “Tend My lambs.” 16 He *said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of John, do you [c]love Me?” He *said to Him, “Yes, Lord; You know that I [d]love You.” He *said to him, “Shepherd My sheep.” 17 He *said to him the third time, “Simon, son of John, do you [e]love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you [f]love Me?” And he said to Him, “Lord, You know all things; You know that I [g]love You.” Jesus *said to him, “Tend My sheep.
I see that in the Bible there are two or three types of speech by church leaders/ pastors to different audiences: 1. Teaching: to the congregation (2 Tim. 4:2) 2. Preaching: to the unbelievers (Titus 1:9) 3. Prophesying: to individual lives (Acts 13:1, 1 Cor. 14).
First you are the people who immersed my thinking in pursuit of sound exegesis expository study of the Bible, Pastor HB just a precise definition of expository teaching and preaching, now l have been listening to Dr NT Wright and Dr Richard Hayes and presently Dr John Walton, interesting what drew me to these men were constant disparaging remarks about each one from your circle, interesting having listened to each repeatedly I was captured by their pursuit to be faithful to the text even if that means stepping on centuries held positions and for those who will do that have the unfortunate honor of being called false teachers and at worst heretics now that is disheartening.
Kevin I agree that scripture only directly mentions the Father and Jesus as drawing sinners. Do you believe that scripture implies that the Holy Spirit draws in the sense that He can be resisted. In other words if He's being resisted it's because He is drawing sinners. Acts 7:51 - “You stiff-necked people, uncircumcised in heart and ears, you always resist the Holy Spirit. As your fathers did, so do you.

Thank you. HB is my pregame Sunday sermon before going to my church. Both very sound. Jacksonville FL is blessed in that regard!
😂 I thought I was the only one!
@ you know you gotta get your spirit ready to receive the word!
His sermons are great for a pregame! Just don’t forget to stretch!

Press on, HB Charles, Jr! Press on, Josh Buice!
I pray to see HB Charles Jr. preach this Sunday. Great timing!!
I saw him preach here in Houston a couple years ago. It was a blessing!
Live in the text all week and on Sunday, only key points are needed.
I have been an expository preacher for 16 years.

Love teaching by HB. Being from Jacksonville, there isn't much sound teaching. Grateful for him being in that city! All glory to God 🙏🏾
Totally get what you mean! HB is a blessing, especially when you’re looking for solid teaching in your area. All glory to God indeed!
That's what I get at my church. I love it! Best teaching!
This is the best way to preach God’s word. I do the same as well.
Thank you for your kind words! It’s encouraging to know that others are following the same approach in sharing God’s Word.
Great work, thank you pastors
Our pleasure!
I really loved this podcast
Read the text, explain the text, apply the text.
That simple.

Funny enough, Jesus was not doing expository preaching, neither was Peter.
It's not wrong, but it's not the only way to preach.
These comments are not really people!
It is expository preaching, not expositional.
Said who
Really. Comment not necessary. A bit childish!!
It means the same thing. Is that really the most important thing you see going on here?
