My one thought was that you did a good job choosing a doll with an unusual wig that would look good on another celeb/youtube/fantasy doll. It gives you another option without having to purchase another wig.

Since using my current technique I have not damaged any eyes. So I would say the chance is very low maybe 5% chance of damage and maybe 1.5% chance of unrepairable damage.

Just in case you aren’t aware, they make makeup q-tips that have a more pointed end. That would make it easier to remove the painted eyelashes.
