An Army Captain's Sargent broke his leg in Germany and this actress signed his cast in his hospital room. Needless to say, to the awe of everyone. I know, I was the Captain's wife at the time. I was so jealous that my husband got to meet her and it was all over before I heard about it. But his Sargent stayed friends with the Captain for many years and he himself was a performer during his Army days. He and his brother were great friends till the end when the Captain was called "home"; when Sgt. Halladay took a holiday. Oh, My those were the days!

In 1979, Gloria DeHaven came to Hauppauge, NY with actors Donald O'Connor, Milton Berle, Forrest Tucker &
others, to put on a Vaudeville show at a local High School! After the show, some of the performers stayed to
talk to the audience, on the adjacent street! As I was talking to Forrest Tucker, Gloria came next to us! At age 54
& wearing a slinky black dress, she was still as gorgeous as ever! It was the best $3.00 admission, that I ever spent!
My dad was in the same band as her. They cut a record together...actually, the entire Jan Savitt orchestra and Gloria made records together.

I’m just commenting but I refuse to watch these “sad ending” videos. That kind of title is a lie but they use it all the time.
