    Thanks for this! I live in the UK and buttermilk isn't really something I can find that easily here unless I'm at a larger well known supermarket chain, so thank you for making such an easy quick vid that I can follow

      Just use yogurt and dilute it a bit with milk, it works better

    Buttermilk is made with yogurt and water, 1:4 proportion, churn it in mixie and garnish with salt and pepper.

      Yogurt and water? No... buttermilk is simply made by churning butter from cream...

      ​@cjwest10159 Correct, it is the leftover product once the fats have been removed from the milk to make butter. Buttermilk is also a great way to rehydrate when low on electrolytes.

      Buttermilk is just fermented milk/cream. This is just a trick to get very similar results :)

      The acidity in buttermilk adds tangy flavor to balance all kinds of sweet baked treats. It also activates baking soda, producing the gas that makes dough or batter rise.

      @@matthewchow4991 No…it’s the tradition Buttermilk. In India it’s called Chaas or Chach. It’s very simple really, it’s made by blending Water and curd along with some salt and a few spices like Cilatnro or mint leaves, cumin seeds, black pepper etc.

    Literally every places except Westeros it is made with yogurt and water. I wasted 4$ just to get sour milk :(

    This is not butter milk and it actually isnt real hard to make with some heavy cream... you are however really close to making paneer cheese😂

    It’s not butter milk, it’s the process of making cottage cheese, by heating milk and add vinegar, residue left is whey.😂😂

      Traditionally, buttermilk was the fermented liquid leftover after churning cream into butter. These days, store-bought buttermilk is typically made from milk with added lactic bacteria, which produce lactic acid. So the fast way to do is to add something acidic like vinegar or lemon juice to milk to get the same affect.
