Thank you! I moved into a place where there was a front loading washer and I have never been sure how much to load into it! I’m glad I finally decided to sit down and watch your video!

I had a minor tiff with my wife as I often put too many cloths in the washing machine. I know she is right but this would make me follow her advise.

Love this video. I have always "eyeballed" how full to make the front loader. We own an extra large capacity machine and even with the machine empty i can not reach the back of the washer, due to bad back and knees. I use a "turtle" to unload the washer and dryer and a grabber for anything that decides to fall out loose.
Anyhow, i am just glad to hear i have been doing things right. The only differences is if i am washing pillows, a load of only jeans, or a load of only towels. Rare, but it happens

I'm glad to hear that the video was useful :D It is tricky to help everybody measure exactly how much clothes they can put in their washers through a video, but I thought these eyeballing tricks would be helpful.
I am sorry to hear about your back and knees. I am glad to hear that you have found some solutions that work well for you :)

Ive got a 10kg washing machine. I put in 6.5 kg of clothes and the drum was completely stuffed full. 5kg seems to be the sweet spot for me and most stnthetic clothes and when i pulled them out afterwards their weight had increased by 40%. I don't remember having to half load top loader like this. I feel like i do more loads of washing machine now with my front loader than i did with the 9kg top loader i had.

i put like 1 outift of clothes in my washer. my washer is a pretty new one, so is this bad for the washing machine?

It is not ideal, but it is generally fine as long as your washing machine looks balanced. I wrote a bit more about it a few years ago, you can have a look at the first part of this article for more details: organizing.tv/can-you-put-one-item-in-the-washing-machine/

Heh..im at such a loss. Do you go by load aize or load weight?
Ive heard the "trick" is to see if you can fit a fist inside the drum..between top of load and the paddle..
But then again, some say a full load is measured from the door's opening, not the drum itself..
Havr you gotten any more recent insight on all this? I bought a 9kg samsung (stay away i warn you) 2 months ago and i have tried loading with every kinds of clothes and household items. But it is impossible to reach even half the way before the drum is "full". Like just now i did a wash of towels, washcloths. 3,5-4kgs but not a chance to fit any more in there without using force, and i dont wanna do that to the springs.
Cycle completed from 1200rpm,and all the items and they are all glued to the drum, not even surpassing the paddles.
Furthermore i dont even know if its mylaundry being stiff or wtf it is, but the load sinks down to look like a 1/2 or 1/3 sized load, and no matter how ive tried to toy with number of fabrics, programs spin speeds, the washer just cant distribute the load.
Drum bearing status isnt critical yet, but considering how it operated first week and last laundry, the appliance is surely going to break down soon. And samsung is very ignorant of the whole deal so stay away.
Man this post derailed so much. sorry adhd

Don't worry! It sounds like you are doing fine.
The drum doesn't need to be full to function properly, and if you can't fill it beyond 4 kg, that is fine too as long as you don't put something dense and heavy in there like shoes or a bag of laundry in there. If your washing machine can handle 9 kg inside it then you should stop there.
It is important that the laundry has some room to move around to agitate, hense the rule with being able to fit your fist in there.
If you're putting regular clothes and towels in the wash, I wouldn't worry about the distirubiton too much. That mostly becomes a problem when you have something heavy and dense in there (again, think shoes or a lot of clothes in a bag).
Also, some cycles can't handle the full weight of 9 kg, which you will be informed of if you look at the little display on the washer. But if you stick to 9 kg on the standard settings you should be fine.
As for you issue with clothes sticking to the bottom of your washer post washing, that is fine. Try to use some fabric softener or 5% white wine vinegar to help soften up the clothes. Using a dryer (particularly on towels) also helps a lot.
      I hope this helps :)

I'll also add if your washer is moving around or shaking, make sure it sits on an even floor. You can consider buying some silicone pads to put under its legs, that will help a lot. If movement persists beyond that point, then the washer may be faulty. Then I'd contact the shop where you bought it or a repair person
