    I'm searching for what 12kg means, is that the weight of the wet cloths. I'm wanting one machine just to wash thick blankets and my 8kg front loader just isn't washing the thick blankets properly.

    If you are a family of 4, my recommendation is to go for a 8kg washer. I use a 7kg washer and I end up overloading the machine frequently. (1pair for day + 1pair nightwear)x4 and when I put in bath towels and bedsheets, the machine struggles a bit. We can wash bedsheets and towels separately, but I don't find enough time to do so and put all the clothes at a time in the washer. As a result, I overload it

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  3 года назад +5

      Hi! Thanks for the recommendation! Agreed! If you are mixing loads - you should go for the higher capacity. For a family of 4, if you are calculating 1 pair for day and 1 pair for night - a total of about 16 outfits (assuming shirt and trousers separately), so you can perhaps put a max of one or two bedsheets for optimal performance.

    Hi! We are a family of 4. I've been choosing between a 10kg or a 15kg front loader .. The wash frequency is more or less twice a week .. My office clothes are composed of polo shirts and jeans .. But the wife and the kids are mostly cottons clothings .. The dilemma is that I wanted to be able to wash bed sheets, duvets and comforter from time to time hence the 15kg comes into my mind ..

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  2 года назад +2

      Hi @Dez Aremos - how often do you plan to wash bedsheets / duvets / comforters? I have a king size cotton comforter (FabIndia / Maspar) - both of them fit snugly in a 7kg front loader - nothing else can fit with it. If you wash comforters and duvets rarely - I don't think you really need a 15kg one. You can go for an 8-10kg machine with the caveat that you may need to wash your comforters in a standalone wash.

      @@TheGrapevineIndia Hi! Thanks for the fast reply. Here in the Philippines, the environment is humid and hot, so sheets and comforters tend to get dirty easily. The plan is to wash sheets and duvets once a week to once every two weeks. The problem with washing a comforter in a tight drum of 10kg is that it can't tumble freely. I also don't want to wash them using those comforter nets or folding them to fit inside, I want the sheets and comforter to tumble freely so that the machine will be able to remove dirts/stains even in the center.

      @@TheGrapevineIndia Another question. In the old days, the say that under loading the washing machine is a waste of water and energy because even if you put too 4kg clothes into a 15kg washing machine, the machine will still consume power and water equivalent to a 15kg load. Now that machines have inverter and load sensing capabilities, does the above statements still hold true ?? Or a current LG 15kg will adjust the water and power requirement if the load is just lets say 4kg of clothes ??

    Recently purchased a 7kg front load IFB machine...running once a week schedule for 2 working people (mostly Sundays). But having to split washing clothes based on 3 varieties like neutral colours, dark colours and coloured clothes, its taking approx 6 hrs for getting the entire washing done. Also if i load the drum more than 75%, i feel like the wash quality gets affected. Any thoughts on this?

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  3 года назад +4

      Hi Murali! In general - washing machine should not be packed completely (i.e., full drum) as it does not give enough room for the water and detergent to move. This affects both washing quality as well as the machine in the long run. General rule of thumb is to fill the drum upto 3/4 capacity only. But we all are guilty of filling out more - resulting in cleaning quality issues.

    Hi Mam, I love your work. The videos are excellent quality. But I come to you with a dilemma on the same topic.
    Mum's a fan of the add-wash feature of the Samsung model, but the one that has add-wash is not AI (w W/D) and the Washer dryer combo in Samsung doesn't have AI, the new model does but then again no Add-wash.
    My head's going off every which way, please infer me on what to buy and what areas in which i can compromise. I will be very thankful to you :))
    ps- my budget is under 60k

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  2 года назад

      Hi Dipank! I think it would depend on how often you do add clothes and why you want to use AI. If you run the machine frequently- the add wash can be ignored as you can anyway put it for wash the next day. AI is a definite plus if you want it to detect the weight or recommend the cycle. If you are a larger family - I recommend to take one with 6-8 kgs of drying capacity like this Samsung amzn.to/3Ahmuly or this LG amzn.to/2VxgyWO model

      @@artemisbower4710 Hi Artemis! If you are buying separate - you can buy the same size. @@TheGrapevineIndia thank you so much!!!Regarding washer dryer combos I do have something that maybe I have misunderstood maybe you can shed some light.When looking at washer dryer capacity how are you to choose looking at the dryer's capacity?As it is always smaller than the washer's capacity and the general rule is that the dryer must be bigger in size.This did my brain in.I understand that if you have a full wash you cannot have an equally full dry of the same load.This is what really put me off washer dryer combos.Could be wrong though so please forgive me if I am.☺

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  2 года назад +1

      Hi Artemis! No problem, its a common confusion. So basically in your case - for 4 ppl you in general need a 7-8 kg capacity for the quantity of clothes. Now since in a washer dryer, dryer capacity is lower, you need to plan for a 7-8kg drying capacity. So your washer will be 9-10kgs based on what configuration is available. Hope this is clear?

    Hi, thank you for your comprehensive reviews on your videos. I had a question about the integrated Washer-Dryer since I’m hearing two conflicting theories.
    1. Say I have a 7kg washer/5kg dryer…and I put in 6kg of clothes. If set a cycle for 100% drying of the clothes which is about a 3hr. cycle, does the machine, before beginning the washing automatically say “Overload” if it senses that my clothes are above the drying capacity? Or will it wash it anyway and dry it unsatisfactorily?
    2. Do I have to then remove some clothes after the wash cycle so that i get 100% drying on the remaining clothes?
    3. One store executive said, as long as I don’t put in more than 7kg clothes it will dry fully well…which kinda didn’t make sense since the drying capacity is only 5kg!!

    • @TheGrapevineIndia
      @TheGrapevineIndia  3 года назад +3

      Hi Rajiv! Great questions :) Let me try to address them.
      1. The machine does say overload but only before the dry cycle - as the dry cycle has a lower capacity. It's happened to me once. Some machines have a way of showing how much the weight of the clothes is - the Samsung one I purchased does not. But you get a hang of it after a while - in general - you can load to about 2/3 or 3/4 of the drum based on the type of clothes you are including.
      2. Only if you put more than 5 kgs, you may have to remove, if you want full drying.
      3. No, 7 kgs will definitely not dry. In general the dryer requires space in the drum for efficient drying. In a standalone dryer, a similar 7kg machine will have a larger drum size. However, in integrated, since that's not possible - you have to load lesser upto the stated capacity only.
      Hope this clarifies!
