Duel terminal is the biggest yugioh lore series we have right now. Fell in love with the story when I heard that my noids were the final boss of the series😂
Thanks for including the name of the cards the artwork is from on the top right. It’s so interesting seeing both subtle & explicit connections within all the archetype illustrations!! One of my favorite parts about this game
It was Constellar Castor that knocked the evil out of Gishki Psychelone and took it into himself to become Evilswarm Castor. In the art of Constellar Meteor you see his attack dislodged the Steelswarm Spirit/ghost/corruption that Noellia got in the art of Creeping Darkness, and you can see Constellar Pollux trying to stop him in the foreground
Thank you for catching this! After double checking the DT Master Guide, it seems I missed that small detail. For a while now, I've incorrectly assumed Castor was a corrupted Pollux since there was no real "Constellar Castor" card. I knew that Castor and Pollux were brothers in Greek mythology, but assumed Konami was simply interpreting the tale uniquely. So, I didn't double check the matter in advance. I made a pinned comment.
Im a simple man. I see Gishki, i press like. Gishki is easily in my top 5 favorite archtypes of all time. Im glad the new support made them more playable. Thank you for this video
Talking about the lore has made me want to play the deck, so I'm looking into it. Definitely a classic ritual deck. Thanks for choosing to watch the video!
Yes! I didn't mention that part because I was more focused on Noellia and the Gishki archetype. But Avance grows old and becomes Great Sorc, overseeing the Nekroz. Emilia is a bit more interesting - it's clear she's Dance Princess in the Nekroz archetype, but she doesn't appear to age. Perhaps the ritual Noellia performed altered her soul or something, or maybe she's like part spirit still.
@@pk_tuneworld i think its more that great sorc got older for some reason, as ariel hasn't aged up anywhere near as much. she seems the same amount older as dance princess. granted the nekroz ages are all over the place when they use the armor so who knows if their unarmored forms are their real ages either
Finished the video, it was great! Now I understand why the characters in Winds Over the Ice Barrier didn't looked anything like Revealer or Judge. Awsome vid!
Dragunity is also apart of duel terminal they come from the dragon ravine located somewhere in the mist valley, they help fight the 3 ice barrier dragons. You can see Ascalon and Trishula fighting in the artwork of Ice Dragon's Prison.
They really managed to build such a comprehensive and dark story with just a bunch of cardboard. I wonder how much of the interconnectivity was planned ahead of time since Duel Terminal 1 is literally just an alien invasion tale.
Thank you for choosing to watch it! I'm definitely going to do more DT lore, though my next lore video isn't going to be DT. There are some short videos on my channel (not voiceovers) that do cover some smaller bits from DT.
Damnn.. One of my main deck Gishki, what a amazing lore they have, I keep staring on the cool artstyle of their cards, and knowing more about this videos really amaze me more.
Damn I started playing when the Freezing Chains SD came out on the TCG, needless to say IB is my favourite archetype... didn't knew they had this rich of a history! nice video.
See, this is a good point because I was trying to push the "tormented" narrative based on my interpretation of the Steelswarm's powers (and clickbait, shhhh). The Steelswarm "amplify negative emotions" as the DT guide states. You could interpret this at face value - the demons are able to deepen deviant feelings pre-existent in an individual to the point where they are willing to forgo normal social boundaries. If true, this would mean the Steelswarm would have amplified Noellia's already present prejudice against other tribes (maybe from the tribal conflict prior to the Worm's arrival), convincing her to commit those crimes. Hence your thought of her as a "tormentor" because, in this manner, she was acting in part due to her own ideals. Yet, I feel as though young Noellia's attempts to stop the Worms + her consoling children from various tribes after the Worms were gone speaks to her naturally good character. Also, when she is freed from the Steelswarm's influence, she immediately goes back on some of her wrongdoing - something that I don't think isn't always easily done if you had deep-seeded prejudices. Hence why I interpreted the "amplify negative emotions" as another way to say the Steelswarm were able to control victims' minds by infiltrating them through negative emotions. TLDR is that I want to call her "tormented" because I feel she was being controlled to commit crimes she didn't want to as opposed to her being pressured to do so.
Though I do want us to finally get that Nekroz trap card that Clausolas mentions (WHERE IS IT???), I feel as though the Duel Terminal story finished so nicely. The tribes of DT3 (Ritual Beast, Nekroz, Tellars, Yang Zing, Gem-Knights), at its conclusion, were able to finally vanquish all the gods that tried to control them and were given the chance to build their own future. If anything, more Nekroz cards would hopefully add on a sort of "epilogue" rather than a full-blown sequel as did the recently printed Ritual Beast cards.
The best part is we have a high chance of getting an anime after that anniversary animation. Only thing that sucks is the fact it'll most likely be rushed.
Duel terminal is full of tragedies, according to the master guide very few survived the fight with Sophia Infact it's still not confirmed if the ice barrier tribe still exist when Noellia made the Gishki tribe
Psychelone and Zielgigas are such good cards especially in DL where I have played them a lot, I also like to play 1 noellia skmetimes. Crazy that the lord matches the power a bit

Literally me LOL. At first I was like "this loaner deck looks kinda cool, wonder if it's good". Now you see me making this video + lowkey building Ice Barriers IRL (and maybe Gishki???)
Thanks for choosing to watch it! I was surprised myself how deep the cards went - I was like you before where I only knew bits and pieces about it until actually putting in the time to understand it.
6:12 neriamanas is the revived ariel nekroz that stuck inside the infernoid canister, ritual beast return is the card where she popped out from the infernoid shell with blue orbs, winda came from green orbs.she is at the moment is in the exact same state as winda and amelia, just walking in the fine line between dead and alive. her current mentor is rasahalgue, he teach her to combine both swarms power and the mirror to hunt the remaining ilswarms in the planet. , as we can see from zefra providence, both rasahalgue and sombre returns back to their original form, constellar rasahalgue and gem knight lapis.
I appreciate your comment, but if I recall (correct me if I'm wrong), the Infernoids don't appear until Duel Terminal 3 way after the Evilswarms are vanquished. DT3 is when Winda got trapped in a container (you see this in Nephe Shaddoll Fusion) and likely when Ariel did. We also see Neremanas fighting the Evilswarm (Duel Terminal 2 only) in "Focused Aquamirror" alongside Avance who is supposed to be Great Sorcerer during the Infernoid's time. I'm pretty confident Neremanas is just an upgraded version of Mind Augus - that the corruption of Ariel into Apkallone doesn't happen until much later. You are right, however, that Constellar Rasalhague likely helped Neremanas + Neremanas uses the powers of the Ice Barrier as seen, again, in Focused Aquamirror.
i knew that MD has already covered it but i wanna see World Legacy's animated lore and also it'd be badass if they somehow clash the Orcust's musical opera vs Despian's dramatic theater

@@christhiancosta1844 Yeah you gotta a GREAT point actually. I just had a flashback to the list of mess ups they made. Who knows they might do another manga. I know they finished one for sky striker (waifu tax).
@@galaxyvulture6649 The Magistus manga started a while ago and it's already 7 chapters in (it is possible that the Magistus story will lead to the beginning of the DT lore, as some card artworks connects the 2 stories together but it's also possible to be just a coincidence)
I suppose the question would be how long would a show take to make. Pokemon has its issue partly because they rush out games. Yugioh wouldn’t want to invest in a show that is based on old products.
Oh wow, I just noticed that Worm Zero has what can only be described as humanoid corpses mashed into it on top of the Worms. Konami really wanted us to see Legion/Granfaloon in their card game.
Steelswarm Roach is featured in that card art, yes. Though, in contrast to the rest of the archetype, Roach is actually a good guy. The gist is: a wounded Steelswarm Sentinel contacts a broken Vylon. The interaction would've killed any other Steelswarm, but Sentinel somehow manages to merge with the technology and transforms into Roach. Why he is good is arguable - it could be because of the Vylon's programming or it could be because the Steelswarm as a species preyed on their own kind at certain points (see "Infestation Tool"). Regardless, Roach aids the tribes to stop his own kind, the Evilswarm, Sophia, and more. Exciton and Zefraxciton are later versions of Roach.
Is Avance supposed to be dressed like Altair from Assassin's Creed? I know it's not all of them, but some card artist must of thought that when drawing the art for "Winds Over the Ice Barrier".
I wouldn't know unfortunately. It's entirely possible given this archetype came out after the first Assassin's Creed, but it could also just be coincidence.
Small correction: It wasn't Pollux who sacrificed himself to defeat Psychelone. It was his brother, the other representative of the Gemini constellation, Constellar Castor (a non-existent card, that would later be revived as an Evilswarm).
I wonder what Noellia as Revealer of the Ice Barrier's 3rd effect of banishing herself from the graveyard to be one of the discard cost of Ice Barriers. Is it because of the last part of her story against Zielgigas or was it because of the two Ice Barrier dragons needing a discard for their effects?
Damn, that's a really good theory! My logic is telling me that effect is just there to punch home the importance of the Ice Barrier dragons + Revealer's supposed importance in the tribe. But, it's so cool to speculate it might also be a sort of "foreshadowing" of what eventually happens to Noellia!
Noellia's also indirectly responsible for the third Duel Terminal war, since the Shaddolls were only made possible by by the lswarm virus in Gem Knight Crystal's body mutating further.
They do! Great Sorcerer is an older Avance, Dance Princess is Emilia, and Shurit is their son. I didn't mention this bit in the video because I was more focused on Noellia's story.
There’s this weird part of the story where Noellia is essentially MIA and the Gishki join the tribes to combat the Steelswarm + corrupted Vylon (not sure how many of them actually knew Noellia was the one to free the Steelswarm as mentioned in the video). A soldier from every group gets XYZ powers to help the matter (see Lavalval Ignis, Daigusto Phoenix). I could be wrong, but I don't believe Wynn is connected to Winda despite their resemblance. Wynn owes to the Charmers which aren't currently linked to the Duel Terminal world. They're in a separate universe.
@@pk_tuneworld technically yes, however given how prevalent interdimensional travel is in Duel monster's lore, it could be possible that Wynn was transported to the world where most of the charmers reside (I'm thinking the world where most Spellcasters reside). It's never really explained how Wynn got there, but there are I've seen somewhere that states the Wynn and Winda are sisters.
@Sugatara-p7h from what I know about the S-force lore is that those guys are just going around fighting everybody from different dimensions and that some of their members are either corrupt or evil. But also learned that I:p is an info broker that usually sells information to the Evil Twins, which would mean that the S-force, :P, and Evil Twins monsters are in the same world (the girl on you're finished might also be in the same world but I'm not sure). So Wynn might have been transported across dimensions by the mishaps caused by the D.D gate or the gate the S-force use to traverse worlds.
@@nashcifer5666 I think Wynn either somehow lost her path home or left the Gusto tribe willingly (but yeah either most likely the sisters never met eachother again)
Wasn’t Gishki Ariel the only true survivor of the Gishki archetype and actually performed the Gishki ritual correctly? As Neremanas was the only EviGishki that wasn’t a mutated amalgam of a monster but ariel riding atop of the whale, she was able to defeat Evilswarm Ouroboros

Yes! Theres a short video on him on my channel. But, TLDR: one of the Steelswarms end up defecting and helping out the tribes. He becomes Roach > Exciton Knight > Zefraxciton and is honestly a really cool character for DT 2 and 3.
Duel Terminal 1's storyline covers the Worm invasion and the Fabled Invasion. Duel Terminal 2 covers the Steelswarm re-emergence, the Evilswarm infestation, and the rise and fall of Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth. Duel Terminal 3 is Shaddoll, Infernoids, etcetera.
Though I really want a lore-focused show, I feel like there's a massive benefit in having an anime tied to the game itself. The lore definitely gets you hooked on how cool specific archetypes are, but I feel like you're able to appreciate them more when you're already invested in Yugioh. Shows directly tied to the game are a nice way to flaunt how cool duels can be and inspire new players to give things a shot. Definitely only an opinion though - since we don't have an actual lore anime yet, it's hard to anticipate how many people that type of media might bring in statistically.

5:40 Leaving the Icy mountain for the sea keeps the WATER Attribute...
Later Emilia and Avance would become the founders of the Nekroz clan or something like that, right?
yeah they're great sorc and dance princess, shurit is their kid
Waifu characters aren't allowed to age, simple as that.
10:02 look! it is Evilswarm Exciton Knight/Steelswarm Roach! it is another cool chatacter and a very cool story
I won't lie this is my favorite story in yugioh so far
Finished the video, it was great! Now I understand why the characters in Winds Over the Ice Barrier didn't looked anything like Revealer or Judge. Awsome vid!
I like lore from Yugioh cards, this is such a well sum up video, thank you 😊
Wow. I had no idea that there was lore like this tied to ice barrier.
What about the dragunity’s though?
Dragunity is also apart of duel terminal they come from the dragon ravine located somewhere in the mist valley, they help fight the 3 ice barrier dragons. You can see Ascalon and Trishula fighting in the artwork of Ice Dragon's Prison.
I wish they make a Duel Terminal world in Duel Links since they'd soon run out of anime worlds (already added Sevens)
oh this one’s really good! I didn’t realize there we so many connections, I was checked out for duel terminal stuff.
What I love about dt lore,is how appealing it is for how long and how many characters involved.
Also,my girl mentioned!!
They really managed to build such a comprehensive and dark story with just a bunch of cardboard. I wonder how much of the interconnectivity was planned ahead of time since Duel Terminal 1 is literally just an alien invasion tale.
Your vid is so good! Best narrative. Can you consider to do more Duel Terminal lore😊
Thank you for choosing to watch it! I'm definitely going to do more DT lore, though my next lore video isn't going to be DT. There are some short videos on my channel (not voiceovers) that do cover some smaller bits from DT.
Oof hit me with the kiiroi frame in the first 30 seconds. I wasn’t ready for that.
Damnn.. One of my main deck Gishki, what a amazing lore they have, I keep staring on the cool artstyle of their cards, and knowing more about this videos really amaze me more.
Damn I started playing when the Freezing Chains SD came out on the TCG, needless to say IB is my favourite archetype... didn't knew they had this rich of a history! nice video.
Tormented? She was the Tormentor. She captured, enslaved, and sacrificed the Lavals all for her own ends.
Found the Laval
Now a Nekroz sequel would be cool
Though I do want us to finally get that Nekroz trap card that Clausolas mentions (WHERE IS IT???), I feel as though the Duel Terminal story finished so nicely. The tribes of DT3 (Ritual Beast, Nekroz, Tellars, Yang Zing, Gem-Knights), at its conclusion, were able to finally vanquish all the gods that tried to control them and were given the chance to build their own future. If anything, more Nekroz cards would hopefully add on a sort of "epilogue" rather than a full-blown sequel as did the recently printed Ritual Beast cards.
This is amazing!
The best part is we have a high chance of getting an anime after that anniversary animation. Only thing that sucks is the fact it'll most likely be rushed.
Hopefully it isn't rushed though! I think they'll treat some of these stories with the love and care that they were crafted with.
Never knew the Duel Terminal had such a tragic story. Interesting...
Duel terminal is full of tragedies, according to the master guide very few survived the fight with Sophia
Infact it's still not confirmed if the ice barrier tribe still exist when Noellia made the Gishki tribe
Psychelone and Zielgigas are such good cards especially in DL where I have played them a lot, I also like to play 1 noellia skmetimes. Crazy that the lord matches the power a bit
Damn…
I think I really like the Ice Barrier deck now.
Like I was using it all throughout the Wind and Water event but wow.
That story was honestly amazing.
Literally me LOL. At first I was like "this loaner deck looks kinda cool, wonder if it's good". Now you see me making this video + lowkey building Ice Barriers IRL (and maybe Gishki???)
Honestly amazing. I forget that some of these cards have lore
Bro this was insanely cool to watch! I only knew bits and pieces about the Gishki lore, but thanks to you i got a great story
Thanks for choosing to watch it! I was surprised myself how deep the cards went - I was like you before where I only knew bits and pieces about it until actually putting in the time to understand it.

Definitely need to make a video on that archetype, actually such a beautiful (and yes, tormented) set of cards.
Is there proof they fight Sophia? She’s one of my favorite YGO cards so I’m interested
The lore behind YGO’s archetypes are very interesting and enjoyable to listen to!

I would love a full retelling of Duel terminal 1 in video form.
I have had a lot of trouble finding a good telling of the story.
i knew that MD has already covered it but i wanna see World Legacy's animated lore and also it'd be badass if they somehow clash the Orcust's musical opera vs Despian's dramatic theater
Hoping one day we get a video of the shaddolls, ritual beast and whatever was going on in that story
who knew ice barrier lore is connected to that many other archetype yugioh has the chance of becoming one of the best animes if they used the cards lore
need to make a Mist Valley, X-Saber, Flamvell, and Ice Barrier deck now (one of each)
We need an animated duel terminal series. It’s wild that the card lore is more interesting than the series that spawn them.
props for the DeS music
I never understood why archetypes never got an anime. The last few yugioh anime weren't even good. The cgi were even worse.
Tbf it's pretty expensive and likely Konami is led by the same kind of backwards thinking corp you see on the west, so they're really unlikely to see the potential easily
Heck, Konami has kinda buried most of their games

The Magistus manga started a while ago and it's already 7 chapters in (it is possible that the Magistus story will lead to the beginning of the DT lore, as some card artworks connects the 2 stories together but it's also possible to be just a coincidence)
@@omermohammad1336 Welp I know what I'm reading next. Thank you for telling me this.
I suppose the question would be how long would a show take to make. Pokemon has its issue partly because they rush out games. Yugioh wouldn’t want to invest in a show that is based on old products.

you have to do more 🎉🎉🎉
Oh wow, I just noticed that Worm Zero has what can only be described as humanoid corpses mashed into it on top of the Worms. Konami really wanted us to see Legion/Granfaloon in their card game.
Amazing
Was that a Steelswarm just chilling with the two of them at the end there?
@@pk_tuneworld oh that’s cool actually
Is Avance supposed to be dressed like Altair from Assassin's Creed? I know it's not all of them, but some card artist must of thought that when drawing the art for "Winds Over the Ice Barrier".
I wouldn't know unfortunately. It's entirely possible given this archetype came out after the first Assassin's Creed, but it could also just be coincidence.
Small correction:
It wasn't Pollux who sacrificed himself to defeat Psychelone. It was his brother, the other representative of the Gemini constellation, Constellar Castor (a non-existent card, that would later be revived as an Evilswarm).
Yes, a channel to listen to duel terminal stories on? Yes
Man, I really need to read more about Duel Terminal lore. I'm today year old learning about Gishki are connected to Steelswarm🤔
Kinda why I like playing Shaddolls so much in the real game.
Revendread should be a literal movie
The Link story would be good though, especially since it has already finished. (World Legacy/Seiibutsu)
Noellia's also indirectly responsible for the third Duel Terminal war, since the Shaddolls were only made possible by by the lswarm virus in Gem Knight Crystal's body mutating further.
As a Gishki player, I never even knew the archetype had a lore to begin with.
I’d like to believe her children go on to create the nekroz archetype
They do! Great Sorcerer is an older Avance, Dance Princess is Emilia, and Shurit is their son. I didn't mention this bit in the video because I was more focused on Noellia's story.
Out of curiosity, how does Evigishki Merrowgeist fit into this? It’s the only Gishki XYZ & it always felt kind of unrelated to the rest.

All the card's names should be in the top right hand corner of the video whenever their art is shown. In this case, The card is card "Aquamirror Cycle".

this was a really sad story
There needs to be an anime done on all of the lores.
I've always wondered something when looking at the Duel Terminal lore, Were Wynn and Winda sisters, if so did they ever reuniunit ?

I think Wynn either somehow lost her path home or left the Gusto tribe willingly (but yeah either most likely the sisters never met eachother again)

Avance survives and becomes Great Sorcerer of the Nekroz; Emilia does too (in a sense) and becomes Dance Princess. Their son should be Shurit.

If by any measure of her legacy be considered good, is that she would ultimately end up with a grandson that seemed heroic, and noble.
Noellia treated the Geneva convention as a checklist.
i do wanna see a mention of the shaddoll lore because even if el shaddoll winda is "evil" or "corrupted" i am legally married to her as the dice have told and the only regret i have is that we were enslaved by evil vampire space nerds
for context a server im in did a small game where we got random archetypes and had to choose a monster to smooch, then we rolled a d20 to get the result. my archetypes were shaddoll and subterror, first roll was winda, which was a 20, and everyone agreed that meant marriage
everyone else died by the end, except for the guy who got vampire and kozmo who ended up conquering the universe
Gishki Emilia being a Spirit Monster was based on lore? 😔
Supposedly! Least, that's my interpretation of it.
@@pk_tuneworld
Didn't the master guide already confirm that?
Emmm .. do you know gem knights?
Wait so is Lswarm roach a good guy?
Yes! Theres a short video on him on my channel. But, TLDR: one of the Steelswarms end up defecting and helping out the tribes. He becomes Roach > Exciton Knight > Zefraxciton and is honestly a really cool character for DT 2 and 3.
So it's 3 or 4 ARC?
Worm, Steelswarm, zebra...?
Duel Terminal 1's storyline covers the Worm invasion and the Fabled Invasion. Duel Terminal 2 covers the Steelswarm re-emergence, the Evilswarm infestation, and the rise and fall of Sophia, Goddess of Rebirth. Duel Terminal 3 is Shaddoll, Infernoids, etcetera.
I would prefer if yugioh anime stopped being about the card game and focused on the lore, there’s so much of it sitting there it’s such a waste
Definitely only an opinion though - since we don't have an actual lore anime yet, it's hard to anticipate how many people that type of media might bring in statistically.
man why don’t they give vylons some support?
There is a manga right?
Unfortunately no :(
You'd have to search online for translations of the Japanese Duel Terminal Guide. It tells the story but doesn't have illustrated panels that detail the matter like manga/ comic books.
So this is actual lore of the cards or whats up?

….and then Nekroz happened.
Indeed! I didn't mention them because I was focused solely on Noellia and the Gishki tribe, but it is true that Avance and Emilia would go on to create the Nekroz tribe that appears in Duel Terminal 3.
Where are the nekroz in the timeline?
I didn't include them in this video because I was focused mainly on Noellia's story + the Gishki's story. The Nekroz, however, occur several years after the events of this video. Great Sorcerer is an older Avance, Dance Princess is Emilia, and Shurit is the son of the two.
