Clean harness not a lot of people take the time to solder and heat shrink. 1 note though, make sure to keep the factory radio or you may not be able to program another key fob if necessary. At least thats how my impala and lumina were
@@chickenfarm09 no existing ones should work fine, you just need the factory radio to program any new ones is all. Just keep the stock head unit in case you lose a fob
Does changing the radio do away with the door chime and chime to remind you to turn off your turn signal? I'm so glad you posted this because I would have the same project.
I live in Canada and crutchfield only delivers their products in the US. Is there any other website that can provide this stereo and come with all the assembly components?
do you know much about the 4t65 E's? I got a 05 grand prix GTP Comp G and my transmission no longer engages AT ALL in first gear in drive, barely engages in M tapshift mode... On my way in work fine driving, no rough shifting everrrr, but kid you not I reverse in a parking spot, go to put the car in drive to scoot forward to adjust and It did not move at all. I was able to swap to M and it will creep forward in 1st in M, I could also tapshift into 2nd gear after like 5 seconds, so I was able to BARELY get home. But I'm just wondering how I break a transmission from a parking lot, and yes i fully stop before shifting. My trans fluid level is fine + color of fluid is fine, it smells slightly burnt probably because I had to drive it for 20 minutes to get home but this sucks man lol... my car now idles at about 600-650 rpms instead of about 750 as well.
@@SalemDoyle dang haha that sucks, do you by chance know what exact model trans a 05 gtp would have? i know its got a 4t65, but im unsure if it was a 4t65e or 4t65e-HD. they want 4000 for a rebuild, and I see I can buy a new whole remanufactured one for ~$1800 so I might go with that and install it myself.
I’ve been using Crutchfield since the 90s. They’re amazing. Very clean installation Salem. It looks good.
Thanks
Came out amazing! Great mod for any older car!
Looks pretty straight forward!
Thank you for the video man! That's helpful

What if the car came with two? Does changing the radio stop the key fobs from working?

Chimes still work

Thanks for this!!
Did you ever see a aftermarket sterio for grand prix that could be controled by steering wheel redundants?
Yes, you have to buy a kit that adapts the steering controls
the one thing that I dont like myself is the way threy stick way out from the dash
True
Needing new steering wheel radio controls for 2004 impala. Have any sources?
Junk yards are usually best
@@SalemDoyle do you show how to pull them ?
@@marksokolski3517 i dont have an impala, so i dont have one to show
No steering wheel controls I assume.?
No, the malibu only has cruise control on the wheel

Most likely the forward band broke. That's a common issue with these. Will require a rebuild to replace though

@@SalemDoyle thank you man
