    Hi!! I have the same study book you showed. Would you say the content in the book is the same as the questions in the actual test?! Thank you!!

    I did all of them at once February 2021 and it took me exactly 4 hours. I passed on the first attempt. I used that Cliff's Notes book. Mainly the practice tests and reading the explanations for each test answer. I ignored the rest of the book. It had been since 2003 that I had US History and Government classes, and 2004 for my English classes. It was easy in my opinion since it had been that long since taking some of those classes and I still passed.
    I had recently had my math and science classes though in May and June 2020 before taking the CSET. So about an 8 month gap.
    Then I took the RICA and passed without even having my reading instruction & intervention/methods or children's literature classes. For that one all I needed to do was choose some of the key terms in the back of the Cliff's notes RICA book. I only had 6 hours to learn/study content for the RICA. lol It is a lot easier than the CSET. Most of that test is just about recognizing a student's difficulties and selecting a proper intervention strategy. Oh and using the "fancy" terms that the reviewers like instead of more commonly used words.
    There are also practice tests on the same site you register for the tests on. I recommend doing the practice tests and reading the explanations for each answer and studying that. That was the most helpful for me.

    I recently registered for all 3 math subsets (I'm doing single subject) but they won't allow the bundle so you have to do all 3 individually (around $297). Just a heads up to all my fellow math peeps who watch this vid!

      Congrats on passing your CBEST! Don't be scared!!!! I studied for each subtest for about a month and a half or a little longer. This was also because I was going to school/working so I didn't study EVERY DAY. Stay consistent when you study and give yourself time blocks/schedule your study time. This definitely helped me stay on track! Let me know if you have any other questions (:

    Hi there ...
    I have a question.
    If I take all three subsets together and fail in one of them.
    Should I retake only the one that I failed only ? And my pass on others is accepted ?
    Thank you

    • @betweenthedesks3685
      @betweenthedesks3685  2 месяца назад

      I'm not sure if this has changed since the last time I took these. When I registered for all of them at once- if you failed one you had to retake all of them. That is why I preferred taking them individually.

    I'm studying for it rn and the part i'm having trouble with is the different literature we need to be fimilar with. Do you have to memorize a lot of stories and books from different time periods to pass it?

    • @betweenthedesks3685
      @betweenthedesks3685  3 года назад +1

      Hi Jose! I don't remember having to memorize stories and books from different time periods. I used the practice tests they have on the ctc website which gives you an idea of what will potentially be on the test. I recommend the CSET book AND the best part is that you can rent them at the library (:

    When are you normally supposed to take your CSET, Do you have to take the CBEST first and then the CSET? Can you take them both during undergrad or should I wait until I receive my Bachelors degree to take the CSET ? Thank you, love all of your videos. I'm totally binge watching all of them. #FutureTeacher!

    • @sarahfrench9404
      @sarahfrench9404 3 года назад +1

      you do not have to take them in order. I am about to take subtest 1 and 2 soon. I failed subtest 1 before and am retaking it. In my opinion the easiest one was subtest 3. I was able to pass my first time but definitely make sure to look over the content.

      Hi Daysi T! As Sarah said you do not have to take them in order. I would suggest taking the subject you feel most confident with so that you can see what is expected of you. I personally thought that subset 1 (with history) was the hardest. Good luck!

      Hi Tommy! Thanks for watching my video. I would say that time limits are in place to ensure you understand the content and don’t go into the test blindly. These tests are pretty long already and I couldn’t see myself being in that testing room any longer lol

    Great information! Thanks! How many hours a day did you study for the cset? How much time did you give yourself before setting the date?? How did you practice for the short writing session for each subtest??

    • @betweenthedesks3685
      @betweenthedesks3685  2 месяца назад

      I was unable to study EVERY DAY.. but I set out a chunk of time every few days. I made sure it was something manageable and realistic or else I would beat myself up about it. I would usually set the date and gave myself about 3-4 weeks to study. Of course, I moved it a few times but registering for the test gave me no excuses to study. I would practice for the short writing sessions by free writing. Then comparing my answers to the exemplar answers. This showed me what I was missing and what I needed to work on/study more. GOOD LUCK!!

    How do you prepare for the essay portion of the Cset. How do you know what questions to study for
    , technically they can test you on anything right? So I’m not sure how to best prepare.
