This test was pretty easy for me so I hope this video provides all the information, tips, and resources you need to pass. For more information, you can always visit the CTC website! Let me know what you think down below! If you have any other questions I didn't answer, leave a comment and I'll get back to you. Here are a few links to CBEST prep books:

    Any tips for the math section of the test? I did not pass that section the first time around. I also felt that the practice test provided on the testing website was completely different from the test.

      Hi Adilene! Thanks for watching and don't forget to subscribe (:
      Tips for math: I would say understanding the concepts is most important!! I hope that makes sense.. Especially because each cycle focuses on different math aspects and it won't technically cover everything you studied. You just want to have a broad overview of math so don't focus too much on one thing.
      I also looked up math videos on RUclips for the CSET that weren't in my CSET cliff notes books or CTC website. It helped me understand what I needed more practice on and how I could explain the process if needed. You can also get a lot of points in your short answers so being able to understand the concept definitely helps to give you different angles to validate your answer. GOOD LUCK!!!!

    I passed the Math portion this Saturday morning with 54 points. I need a 41 or better on the Writing (which I took this Monday morning) and/or Reading (which I will do tomorrow morning, Tuesday, August 2) in order to pass ALL components of the CBEST (at 123+ points). I am taking the CBEST for empoyment purposes.

      Hi I’m currently studying for the cbest math. Was it similar to the practice test on the CTC website? What did you use to study that was similar to the test?

      YOU GOT THIS! Remember that it is intended to see your proficiency in math, reading, and writing. I would focus on what you might be struggling with the most. Using the best cliff notes book can be helpful as well.

    Quick question what about if you are taking it in section- for example “subtest math” and got 40 on the preliminary results. What does it mean.

    • @betweenthedesks3685
      @betweenthedesks3685  Месяц назад

      Hello! They are preliminary results meaning they are not yet official. Passing can depend on your other scores since they are scaled.

    I take the PBT on Feb 20! I am so scared. I am putting it into the universe that I will pass through. I just purchased the prep books. Luckily my university waives the CSET so I don't have to take it. Do you have any tips on test anxiety?

    • @betweenthedesks3685
      @betweenthedesks3685  3 года назад +1

      Hey Tara!! Thank you so much for watching my video. Wishing you the best of luck and sending positive vibes for your upcoming test. Some tips I have that really work for me: POSITIVE SELF TALK! Give yourself encouragement before and during your test!! It definitely gets you in the right mindset. Wake up early and get your fuel in: whether that’s a nice little donut or whatever you’d like. Listen to your favorite jams while you study!! So when you’re on your way to your test you can listen to the songs you studied with. For me, it got me mentally prepared to take the test. Lastly, I think just timing yourself within the time frame when you take practice test. This way you know you aren’t going to stress over time during your test!! YOU GOT THIS! 😊✨

    I have my sections in the cart and they're ready to be registered. But when do I get the option to actually schedule it and decide the location?

    • @betweenthedesks3685

      Hey Harry! You have to pay for your test first. Once you pay you can pick the day and location to take your test. Hope that helped.

    • @betweenthedesks3685

      Unfortunately, you can not pick one area (math, writing, reading) on the paper-based test because you are automatically registered for all of them if you pick this format.

    • @betweenthedesks3685
      @betweenthedesks3685  3 года назад

      Hi there Kelsey! Thank you for watching my video. If you are taking the computer based test (not the written one) and only want to take ONE SECTION, only register for that one section. Hope that helps! You can register for the other two sections at a later time.

    • @betweenthedesks3685

      Hi Nancy! Once you pass all parts of the CBEST, the scores are valid indefinitely. This means forever, so you don't have to worry about them ever again.
