    That really was a beautiful hive right up until you Freddy Kreugered the thing. I love the slow motion of the bees jumping on your head. The way Charlie shot that combined with your slow mo edit reminded me of a nature show where I saw a gorilla waving flies off it's head.

      I find it amazing that you took the time to notice how beautiful the comb was on this hive. Had you done this removal, you would have just reached in the wall and pulled both the sections of comb off with your watermelon hands at the same time, thrown them in a bucket with all the bees on them, covered the bucket with screen to let the bees vent and breath, vacuum the few remaining bees in the wall, replaced the sheetrock, taped and float it, pack up your gear and call it a day, all in about 45 minutes. One day I'll be as efficient as you, but first I have to grow some watermelon hands. God's peace brother.

In this case - I admit I was too intent on what the bees were doing! Ralph is looking good for someone who is off duty for now - so they both get thanks and prayers from me! As you do, of course.

    She left you a heart shaped brood patch. The bees know they will be well taken care of. The Abbey grounds are just what they need. Jeff you need to wear your veil whenever there is a large swarm. You never know how bees will react when you disturb their nest.
    God bless you, Charlie and God heal Ralph quickly.

    • @JeffHorchoff
      @JeffHorchoff  4 года назад +1

      What a pattern this queen has, she is a good one. It's very normal for me to remove my veil during the removal because most of the time the bees calm down after the initial intrusion. My mistake on this one was leaning into the hive with my exposed head, it gave the bees the perfect target. Still, it was not that bad, but I'm all in favor of not repeating that experience. Thank you for your blessings JJ, you know how much I appreciate it. God's peace.

      Though the queen had nothing to do with the actual building of the hive, she certainly had EVERYTHING to do with producing all the bees to make it happen. @@JeffHorchoff I'm currently in the frozen shoulder club, but it's because I did in my rotary cuff. And my darling husband likes to dislocate his shoulders way more than any one person should do a horrific thing like that, and he's not healing after the most recent round of "sure, reach for the remote and dislocate your shoulder, why not?" so it looks like surgery is on the table. 🙄 (After this year's amputation, just call us the House of Acme-All Chaos and Medical Emergencies.)
      Lexi, I'm sure, will be very happy with the bees. She's smart enough that all I have to say is "wanna watch bees, Lexi?" and she comes running. ♥️

      Ralph's shoulder is getting stronger, and soon enough he will be back in full force wrecking walls, ceilings, and floors, to get to the bees for me, the guy just has a natural talent for it. Have a great weekend yourself Lewie. God's peace brother.
