@@fran2911 yeah true lol. For the every day person that doesn’t edit their pictures the regular photos actually come out really good and saves space. I only use raw when I really want to edit and get creative or if I’m going to print out something huge that I’ll need every pixel I can squeeze out lol
@@gutenbird that’s true but at least it’s cropping the full 48MP image. That, and I’ve noticed the 3x sometimes produces artifacts. I’m not sure if this is apple’s image processing creating problems or if it’s just because the sensor on the 3x isn’t that great
@@TMCNJ I think the 3x is a much slower lens so that accounts for the artifacts. Probably just best shooting most stuff at the 1x or .5 and cropping. 2 should probably be avoided in most cases. 3 is probably ok on a bright day.
Hello!! At 2:51 minutes, in pro raw mode, I notice that the sky appears brighter, as if it loses color. Why does this happen? It also happens on my iPhone. I see that the sky looks normal in RAW, but when I enter edit mode without making any changes, the sky loses color. TY!
Hi Nicolás! The iPhone is showing you the slightly optimized version of the RAW photo when you just look at it in the Photos app, but when you go to an Image Editing mode or other software, it will actually show you the original RAW file.
Hey I wanted to ask that 14 pro max doesn't give 2x telephoto lens like if I want to zoom 2x on telephoto so I can't loose quality so what should I do and if it isn't possible then does 2x wide lens crop zoom reduce quality or not?
@@EldarGezalov so you can save png/dng photos from both the 3 lenses?i am asking you because i have samsung s10 plus and l love edit raw photos! This feature is available on 14 pro and pro max model right?not on 14/14 plus
Nice video Eldar! 😊 It seems like you let the camera do the focusing automatically. Is that correct? Did you try any comparisons, by locking the focus and exposure yourself? *AE/AF Lock*
@@Jefe3 ProRAW produces a sharper and better image overall, especially if you do some post editing, but the files are much bigger, which is a downside.
@@EldarGezalov Another quick question just to clarify🙏🏼 so the photos you took that are “normal” do not have “pro raw” activated. It’s the default iPhone camera setting , correct?
Portrait mode for iPhone 11 Pro Max, only the background is blurred. For iphone 14 pro max, both the background and front bottom are blurred, which makes the portrait mode looks really terrible.
When you click on Edit, it switches to the RAW version of the image. By default, it is showing optimised image (better contrast, more saturation, etc).
@@EldarGezalov When I take my RAW 48Mp into Lightroom (Version 6) then it always comes out very underexpose. You will need to adjust the exposure anything up to 1.5 stops extra but what you do get has the ability to bring out a lot of shadow detail which you do not necessarily see in the processed image. I generally take semi important photos in 12Mp RAW and ones that I am going to hang on the wall at A3+ at 48Mp this allows you to crop in if necessary. I think that the iPhone 14 ProMax is a great camera and it doesn't do a bad job as a phone.

3x portrait looks amazing like shot on a DSLR
Me too
Wonderful video, No nonsense no drama just what I searched for ❤
Thanks!
Very good video!! 3x Portrait and ProRaw are incredible
This is how a video should be ..
2x photos are my fav. Thank you so much for the review!
Thanks! 🙏
I barely see the difference & some times the regular photos come out better because there’s processing involved. Raw is kind of made to be edited
That's precisely the point, you have a lot more information to work with :)

Every shot we take calls for a different setup. For me, the 2x portrait looked the best for that shot 👍🏼 I find 3x is a bit hit and miss
I thought you should always avoid 2x on 14 pro as it’s just cropping info.

you could also shoot 1x at 24mpixels, it will be similair in details to ProRaw
It wasn’t available on the phone when I did the video

Hey! If you compare it to 1X wide lens photos, yeah, for sure it loses quality.
Do the downloading source affect the quality of upload? Does the quality differ from mobile and laptop?
No difference.
raw mode is available only on main senson?or you can shoot raw with the ultrawide or the telephoto?
The RAW mode available for all lenses, but you will get the increased Megapixels only for the Wide lens (48MP)

14 doesn’t have the telephoto lens or 120hz screen

would be the same result

Though iphone pro raw is not true raw at all, we can still appreciate how digital photography has come so far.
is that 2x in proraw mode still on 48 mp or down to 12 mp again (means 48 mp only in 1x proraw) ?
It is using the same 48MP sensor, but it is cropped to only include the 12 MP image in the middle.
