Not really, the elderly are often scammed so she's keeping her guard up. She knows that he could have potentially put tracking capabilities on it (such as an airtag) to know where she lives and since she's a "feeble elderly person" target her to rob.

These people will say instead of sending you a package you can be in my next video... As long as you send money to a random paypal, venmo, they say it is for the Juan Gonzalez Foundation for motherless and fatherless kids.

There are a lot of people that are too prideful to want to be used as a marketing ploy. Maybe his intent is just to be nice and the profit is secondary, but it's simply a fact that he's making money doing this.

This should remind people that life occurs outside of happy prank videos. Some people are just not in a good place for various reasons. Not everyone is in a frame of mind to connect, socialize, or be happy. For many, life is hard. I also like the video of Steve S giving $500 to a single mom waitress who could go home early because of the gift. Keep doing good things with your money. You are blessing people big time.

Yk I used to see a lot of people saying that filming yourself doing good deeds makes it less genuine but when I was a kid, I was really shy and very hesitant to be around people I was unfamiliar with and watched a LOT of youtube. Seeing people do good things without reason (even if they are filming it) made me want to do those things too. Along with seeing social experiments where u might see injustice, it gave me the courage to do what was right and not let fear stop me. I think I've become a kinder person after growing up watching these videos. I've offered to pay for strangers things, I used to carry tissues around with me in school incase I ever saw anyone crying, and I grew writing notes for people like servers, teachers, friends and alike because I saw someone on RUclips writing them. I think these sorts of videos really inspire the younger generation to do good things if they are able and to not let fear of judgement stop them from stepping up or being kind. Keep up what ur doing 💜

I think it's because some people go through their whole life never having anything nice done for them or maybe they feel they don't deserve it. Paranoia.
I have people come up to me quite often in Arizona asking for stuff or even seeming to give stuff but you never know who to trust nowadays but keeping faith and next time someone comes up to me I'm going to actually try to listen to them instead of having a fight or flight mode.

In her defense, she has every right to be cautious. Just because people seem nice, doesn't mean their intentions are good. After she said she wasn't interested, I would have just left her alone and picked someone else. She could have been scammed in the past or maybe she or someone else she knew were attacked.

She had a chip on her shoulder, but on some level I understand her position. She says "looking for someone vulnerable right?". Meaning, she is fully aware that this is being recorded, and there is some level of moral greyness that comes from being charitable, but recording yourself doing it, and profiting from it.
Ultimately though, she still found herself profited from, but without the expensive laptop. Maybe a lesson there on when to stand by principle and when to not look a gift horse in the mouth.

Well, to be fair, it's extremely unlikely that someone would actually give away a 1000 laptop so it's understandable that people would be weary.
@@danhudson4614 I remember having a friend who saw a Facebook ad for this popup shop for a loungefly discount Disney store. The scammer had recreated every inch of the site to be identical with the exception of the reviews (there were none) and there was something weird with the shopping cart recording your email even if you cancelled an order and would email you that you could still order or that you had five more minutes to claim the items you chose before the items would no longer be saved. My friend bought stuff anyway through PayPal and they got an email receipt not from the website but some Chinese name (in Chinese) with "Chen" at the end's bank account number. Then my friend never got another email about the order shipping and anything and nothing ever arrived to their house. Scammers are getting really good at hiding the scams

Some of these reactions are so familiar to me. When you've been down for so long it's hard to accept that something is going to happen to you or someone's going to give you something for nothing.
There's a lot of criticism in the comments about the people who were not accepting the gifts, but I've been there and that suspicion is what keeps them alive.
A sad and unfortunate side effect of caution.

Maybe they're offended at the thought that they look like they need help, are struggling, etc. She nailed it when she said "someone who looks vulnerable, right?" That's literally how he was picking people -- based on if they looked like they were down on their luck. I wouldn't say exploiting, but dude's still using them for views so she was absolutely right to be suspicious (keep in mind she didn't know there was a hidden camera, he'd profit off her reaction -- she looked at the situation in the absence of that information and was absolutely correct to suspect ulterior motives which did exist: views, RUclips money).
A Mac's not life-changing. It's hardly worth coming across as a beggar for (especially for people who are older).
@@zainarif5767 I agree with the majority of everything you said man. Most things are done for likes now a days, or there is at least an angle to be gained for the one giving away free stuff.
But it's the suspicion I just can't help but feel sad for.
for example, I feel I'm taking a risk these days for smiling, or even trying to start a simple conversation with someone in case it's misconstrued as I'm harassing them.

@@370.y What does this even mean? You don't have to pay for software on windows? It's not 2010 anymore, most free programs available on Windows also have mac versions. There are plenty of issues with Apple products, one of the biggest being anti-right-to-repair. Software generally is not one of the issues except for gaming.
Interactions like the first one are why I watch these. Distracts me from everything horrible and nasty in the world just seeing people being purely grateful and happy.

Bullshit. She is understandably insulted because she feels profiled. Notice he didn't want to give it to the man right next to her who was wearing nicer clothes than her. These kind of channels are fun fantasy. But the reality is that it's performance theater. He's not looking to help people. He's looking for people to exploit for a profit. She saw right through his nonsense. If she wanted a laptop she would buy one. She doesn't need to trade dignity for it. No stranger is giving you a brand new laptop without getting something in return.
