- In the late Nineties, kd lang visited New Zealand a couple of times, performing acclaimed shows on both occasions. This rare and unusual interview in an Auckland barber shop (apologies for poor quality in places) seems fitting for this enigmatic Candaian artiste who has long bucked trends and marched to the beat of her own drum....

"Oh, somebody exactly like me"..So cute and adorable.. and to boot... one of the best voices of our generation. To think that she made it in spite of the Nashville radio people not helping her. I can only imagine where their help would have taken her. Her Olympics Hallelujah was out of this world. She's worked so hard and I admire her authenticity and that she didn't settle. I remember the first time I saw KD. She was receiving an award and I thought "That's one of the sexiest guys I've ever seen". And then she started singing. I've never been 100% straight ever since.

I remember years ago telling a friend that I thought she was a cutie and he said I was nuts. Apparently I'm not the only one to think that about her. BTW, her performance at the opening ceremonies in 2010 was the single greatest performance by a Canadian. EVER!
100% AGREE! I just watched the opening ceremony (I LOVE THE WHALES), and kd singing "Hallelujah" is EVERYTHING.
