I saw an interview of her recently, and she did say that she had gone "in drag " to Arsenio performance. She was kind of laughing and stated Arsenio seemed very confused and didn't know what was going on! She has the most beautiful, smooth, heavenly voice. I just love her!

It's only now that I'm looking back at her and her performances with more mature eyes that I see how good she really was then (and is now). She isn't in the group of female vocalists that I lumped together in my mind as being at a similar level - she's way better than that - in a different league in fact. Her voice is as good as anyone's from the 80s and 90's ..and up to now. Genuine class.

This was such an awkward interview though. Arsenio seemed so confused; like he was thinking she was smoking hot, but he was breaking some sort of rule by being attracted to her. Almost like he thought lesbians aren’t supposed to be beautiful & feminine, and he was so taken aback by one who was.

Agreed, he was terrible as an interviewer, but his show ( especially the first 2 or 3 years) seemed to be fresher, hipper , capturing the ‘zeitgeist’ of pop culture better than the competition at the time. So his show was fun but his interviewing sucked.
