- kd is interviewed by Ross Porter for CBC's Newsworld arts section, The Magazine in 2000.
The reason for the interview is the release of kd's then new album, Invincible Summer. It does cover some of the same old ground with 'meat stinks', Vanity Fair cover and fame but kd gives some interesting and fun answers and the interviewer goes with it.

As always, I listened to the total interview and read all the comments from people like me who are supportive of k d. Since my discovery of her, I have just about consumed everything she recorded, all her interviews, and whatever else I could find here on youtube. Now, it's like watching a daughter I never met growing up very quickly right in front of my eyes! I do have a daughter who is actually just two weeks different in their ages and there are some similarities between them! Today, I was so pleased to see the remarkable growth she shared, her sense of humor, playful attitude with the interviewer, but mostly her lovable nature which she shares with everyone, along with her unforgettable spirit and soul! Yet, she doesn't have to say anything because her smile, her look, her very essence glows like a shining light which draws you back to enjoy her presence again next time!

It's difficult, sometimes for me to understand that mystery of an Artist. She seems to express herself through so many ways, paint, song, vocals, performance and she is magic!

@@langsense Si ho avuto modo di sentirla cantare il "fado" è da circa sei mesi e cioè da quando l'ho conosciuta che guardo e ascolto tutte le sue interpretazioni. Pensavo a lei per le canzoni napoletane perché grandi cantanti lo hanno già fatto e poi perché secondo me la sua voce si presterebbe. Grazie per avermi risposto.
