You're a life saver. My footage looked grainy and dark before, and using a green screen was almost impossible without additional masking having to be done. Found this just in time to start making my next short film!
I watched a video on best video setting prior to yours and I must say, yours really helped. The previous one didn't. I am literally shocked by the change in the quality of my video just by following your advise. Thank you.
I have a Nikon D5500 and when I open the "Shooting Menu" can't see the options you have on yours I watched some other videos where people show that same menu but I don't have it and can't find any way to change that What can I do?
Useful thank you! I always assumed I’d want a greater F-number/aperture to try and get more focus! ... and previously filming at 50 FPS - just cos I assumed it would be better - makes so much sense to save it for the slower motion stuff! This was great - poor cat is getting chased around the kitchen whilst I try out these settings - filming with so much more confidence now!
Very informative video. Wt focus mode & setting u generally use for video shooting with d5300 in the following: 1.Static Scenery Shots 2. Panning Shots 3. Moving objects 5. Self walking:vlogging style. 6: Following a walking subject 7.Shooting scenery from inside a moving car.
Any advice on how I can change the file type in which my Nikon D5200 saves the files? It saves it now as MOV. files but it causes so much trouble once I convert it to a different file and it doesn't play on an Android device at all? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
If you';re still reading comments pleas help. I'm using the inbuit mic in d5500 and there is some crackling sound most probably from the lens what to do? is it compulsory tobuy an external mic and if it is which would you recommend?
Why does my D5500 not auto focus when recording a video? Do I really have to either manual focus or hold the shutter button down half way? I would think there would be a constant auto focus during video shooting
I have the d5300 and when recording a subject standing in place with consistent lighting on AUTO, the picture gradually goes back and forth between lighter and darker. This is really obvious if you play the video in fast forward. What setting would cause that?
BVC Co. I have new Nikon D5500 I'm a newbie to that camera. Where i can see the detailed size of picture/video ? I mean like 6,5MB . 8,5MB . etc. Thanks for your answer, God Bless You my friend. Sorry if my language wrong, i'm from indonesia
Can you explain your ISO comments a bit more? You said set it as low as it would go but then you left it 1000. Shooting in a no natural light room at 100 ISO gives me a very dark picture. So I’m confused. What did you mean by “lowest it could go”?

.mov is default there's no alternative - other option would be to convert it to another file once on your storage device
Thanks bro

Yep

Is it also for d5600 ?
Same thing applies

There is no option of 60p in d5300 and what is best to shoot slow motion rather 60p
Change your video node from PAL to ntsc or shoot in 50i and apply some method
@@BVCCo7 thanks got it
@@BVCCo7 what u mean by 50i ?
How you doing focus while shooting video
manual/follow focus - never auto especially if you use a nikon

ruclips.net/video/Y5E5zPQ3t6I/видео.html

for slowmotion need 1920x1080:60p, shutterspeed
it's not very important.Progressive(or interleaced) refreshrate is important.

Exactly that, go low as possible you can go given your lighting setup
