I have met both people who don't like dogs and who just don't like animals. Some people I've met who don't like dogs have legitimate reasons for not liking them, others are just assholes. But almost all people who hate animals are assholes. I've also met people who don't like cats, which I understand why they wouldn't, however most of the time, it's due to never being around cats, they are just speaking out of ignorance. Those same people usually change their minds or lighten up slightly when they finally do meet cats or they meet the right cat. My sister reasonably hated cats because she is allergic to them, but she met the right cat eventually that made her like cats, she doesn't necessarily love them, but she no longer hates them. It's just sad she can never be around them without taking antihistamines. I love both cats and dogs, I also just love most animals in general.
