- Knowing which modeling paste to buy when starting with mixed media can be overwhelming: there's many sorts out there and there is a whole bunch of techniques to use them for. I'm sharing a close up of 4 of them, to show you the difference between a light modeling paste, a hard modeling paste, a clear modeling paste and grungepaste.
Enjoy!

This woman is very instructive. I enjoyed listening to her--intelligent, concise, and artistic. What a combination!
I'm just getting into mixed media art as I've never looked at myself as an artist until very recently (I'm 42 and just discovered my love for upcycling small home decor about a year ago...) that has led me back to art of which I really enjoyed in my early years/throughout school including college. Thank you for the wonderful lesson and beginners guide to these pastes!
I have watched a number of modelling paste tutorials and yours, by far, was the best! It was a fast 20 minutes.
Thank you for sharing your time and talent you solved my problem 😅😊❤
Thank you for doing a lot of the hard work/time consuming work for me😄 -- the comparison of products. 😄 Your video was very helpful. I will subscribe!
Im discovering this technique. So nice. Thank you so much
Excellent tutorial. The best that I have seen, most informative about every aspect of modeling past. Thank you so very much.
LOVE that little "today" moon piece at the end - beautiful - thanks for all the tips and tricks as always x

Loved the way you explained with demo. Saves lots of time, material, and especially frustration of errors. This is the best video I have seen so far, and I will use it in my new art creations. Greatly appreciated 🙏🏼 😌 ✨️
I am really impressed that you took your time to break down and explain each step about the quality of the product you used. This is a wonderful video! The paper towel edging method is just what I've been looking for. I am always searching for some new techniques/inspirations for my own hobby/DIY art projects. Thank you so much! 😊🤗💖
This was very helpful. Thanks for sharing. Loved the art at the end. Beautiful!

love all your work here!!
Great tutorial..I learned a lot...and I loved your project at the end as well!!! You are an amazing artist 👩🏻🎤
Best tutorial I have seen, thanks for posting
I am always amazed at the way you make a plain circle into a masterpiece. I love watching you as you apply each layer and work the color to where you want it before you apply the next layer of that same color It's one thing to see the depth in the layers of colors in a finished piece, but to see it being done teaches you the technique you can practice with to get the same effect. The use of the numbers as an accent...amazing!
Hello Linda hope your staying safe and being careful 🙏 💌
@@lindahigham5317 Good to hear from you. All is well and waiting patiently to finally be able to go out and enjoy the sunshine. For now, I will be satisfied with my terrace and I will do some planting this week. Stay safe and be well. I Hope your daughter has made a full recovery.

Your voice is soooo soothing.
Thank you!
Fascinating, thanks 👍🏻👍🏻
Thank you, very helpful video x
Thank you for sharing this video its very helpfull 👏
Very nice illustration 👌🏻 very informative ❤
So helpful. Thank you
I use Atelier heavy gloss medium, because it is a very thick paste that is easy to work with extending the amount of paint and it creates beautiful texture that also dries clear and maintains the colour of the paint, so it's a winner for me! AND you can smooth it over the finished work with a lovely sheen
This is very helpful. Ty
Very informative thank you!
Danke für die sehr guten Erklärungen und die Demonstration!
Great video 🥰
Very helpful. Thank you. I wonder if those can used as filler for Eva foam seams ?
Thank you for this great tutorial and explanation of each of the different brands.
Am I able to color any of these with acrylic paint and then pipe with cake tips?
I’m a newbie to this and I am so intrigued.
Thank you for sharing your expertise 🎨
Excellent.
Great job.
Thanks for sharing vert helpful
dank ! thank you
Interesting to watch. Was hoping for some guidance on the best for creating leaves and petals and raised work. Which holds shape best. Tried basic sparkle but it does not work to make curled leaves or petals unless I build upon it.
Amazing, once i complete my painting using one of the modelling paste for texture, can we varnish it. varnish creates any problems on it. Please reply me.
This was very informative. Thanks for doing this. The DecoArt was a real bust! It looks like it flattens out after application which could defeat efforts at making extreme texture. The other three held the texture well which is the whole purpose of using the stuff!
Great video
Thank you!! This is just what I was looking for. I want to have a raised effect on wc paper but need to then sand and apply Armenian bole over which I will add real gold leaf. Which modeling clay world sand smooth best. Thank you . 🙂
Music is so relaxing
Thank you for all the work you did to explain this. When you did the circle project, you poured out something white from a tube and spread it on the dry blue circle. Was that white paint? If so, what brand? It seemed to add texture. Was it white chalk paint? If so, what brand?
I'm an abstract painter, and my biggest takeaway from this video was the idea of ripping the paper towel and using it as an edge. It left such a wonderful, organic edge. I will be using this when I am painting with acrylics. Thank you so very much!
Thanks for this video dear
Loved the video. I have a question. The clear modeling paste from Deco art is that what I see on pictures in the stores that they outline some of the flowers? It's like tinted and translucent too.
Oh beautiful thx appreciate you 🙌🙌❤️
Welcome
What a brilliant video, so interesting and lots of helpful tips. I loved the little letters printing device, may l ask where you got the printing stamps from or did you make them yourself please?
Hi, thank you very much for this - as many already said - best by far tutorial of modelling paste ! You give so many advice and with your process of creation we can also have many different ideas coming in mind so a thousand thank you 🙂
By the way, which paper did you use for this tutorial ? Because I thought that modelling paste is quite heavy so I guess the paper you used is kinda heavy too ?
Thank you.
I like the effect of the clear paste and spray ink. Without any color I liked the Gelden pastes better, but with color it' the clear and the grunge. In person it might be different, sometimes the camera changes thing. I have a piece stuck in my mind that is a study in texture with color in a few walled of areas only. I am thinking now, because I will be using wood and foam on canvas, to make what I want then spray paint white to make sure it is all the same white. I am mostly a sculptor and craftsman anyway. This has been most helpful and thought provoking. Thank you.
Thank you forgery informative video. I am a woodturner and always looking for different ideas of embellishment. I want add very fine groves on my turnings and fill with colored molding paste then sand. Which paste is best to mix with acrylic paint for colored grooves? regards
Thank you so much for the video!! I want to make 3d acrylic paintings with a piping bag,I want the paint to dry glossy and not matt..what would you recommend? I'm so overwhelmed😅
Great vid!!
I'm trying to achieve creating a wave 🌊 on large stretched canvas. Have ordered Golden light....will this do it do you think? Xxx
Which of these pastes gets the best result on lace mats? Can the Art Extravagance Icing Paste by Finnabair be used in that way?
As someone who is starting to move forward with texture and sculpture, I found this video very helpful. Sculpting paste is hard to find, as I can’t find one that can create foliage, flowers, etc?
Hi and thank you for your wonderful videos, the process is mesmerising. Could you tell us what the brand and colour is of the beautiful rusty red spray is that you use on the card? Many thanks again
Is modelling paste flexible? If i was to roll paper or a canvas up into a tube, would it crack, split, or disintegrate?
Thanks
Can you tell me which paste, after mixing with acrylic colour has the Mattest chalkiest finish please ?
Very well explained... love from India
Thanks:)
thanks
Very nice
Wow!!!
What was the maker/color of the spray paint you used? That is a beautiful color. Great Video. ☮❤
