    I think that 4/4-sounding bar with the tenor shots at 6:22 is the most satisfying bar ever.

    Best book of the year tbh. Been following them since their "Learn the music" video and seeing how difficult their music was compared to all other drumlines. They haven't disappointed at all, truly amazing work and a it pays off with this hard book and clean, impressive drumline.

    So sick! One on my favorite drumlines this year 👌

    How they got 6th in percussion this year, I will NEVER know...
    Such a clean line.

      pianoman598 - Maybe the pit was the deal-breaker between them and Crown. It is "percussion" after all

    • @DisDatK9
      @DisDatK9 7 лет назад +6

      pianoman598 the other thing I notice is insanely high the snare tuning is, like literally the smallest amount of dirt comes blatantly clear

    • @Queeze101
      @Queeze101 7 лет назад

      DatK9 - I don't know the science behind that,but sounds interesting.

    • @DisDatK9
      @DisDatK9 7 лет назад +20

      The higher the snare tuning, the more that it projects. But, with the projection of sound comes a very vulnerable piece; that it sounds incredibly dirty at the slightest misstep. If you notice, many college lines play with ridiculously low tuned snares, because the dirt doesn't even process and it just projects a general sound. The Cadets' are the only people that I've noticed going That high, but most corps' keep it in the upper range because of how powerful the brass is.

    Definitely talented, after the 'practice' part: I am an ex-band-geek, and drums ALWAYS give me chills - yours did, too. :)

    Dude. It seriously sounds like 1 snare, 1 quad, and people tied together by mind on bass. This is by far one of the cleanest if not the most clean line I've ever seen.

    I was wondering does it seem like the Cadets have been one of the more overlooked Drumlines this year compared to let's say the Blue Devils, Santa Clara, the Bluecoats (even though they SHOULDN'T be by any means). But, it seems that way at least from where I'm at. I hear more about the above drumlines and less about Cadets at least this year and overall, it seems like the Cadets has been like a sleeper hit and great corps.. Anyway, just saying. And btw, great video!!!

    • @cameroncavender
      @cameroncavender 7 лет назад +4

      The beginning of the video very clearly shows them playing 8s dirty. I don't mean to be an ass, but it's evident.

    • @milojohnson3057
      @milojohnson3057 5 лет назад +1

      @@cameroncavender yeah but they're at vertical stick height and its really kinda minimal dirt, and the in the show segments shown immediately after all the vert singles (including the split) are pretty clean

    The Cadets always have the most aggressive percussion books. While it's fun to watch them perform, it gets pretty old after a while. I don't find much musicality in it.

    • @Queeze101
      @Queeze101 8 лет назад +9

      It's the style, every line gets old to some viewers when they've had the same arranger for some time. SCV is fantastic, but I tend to tune them out when I'm just hearing notes constantly being run in the same fashion. Happens with me every year, but they're still good. The Cadets hold my attention more. And BD, they get old often fast, but it's fun to hear them play every once in a while. Usually when I just wanna hear some good rolls.

    • @Queeze101
      @Queeze101 8 лет назад +1

      But I'm rooting SCV this year. Cadets a close second, maybe.
