When I was a kid I had a neighbor who was Laos and she would make this for me. I never knew what it was, or what it was called, but ever since I moved away I've had intense cravings for it. Thank you so much for this!! I'm excited to try and make this 😊
When I was young, we had a Laos neighbor who would make this dish and invited us over to eat. I remember the taste to this day but haven’t able to find out what it was nor was I able to find it anywhere. So glad I can make it myself with these tutorials on RUclips 😋🤤
Sabaidee! Very similar to how my mom taught me! Delicious! I am so happy to see that Lao food is finally being appreciated and getting its fair share of respect and fandom! So glad to have found your channel, thank you!

Us hmong has a dish similar to this like doua said a red version, but we also have one with beef tendon and its similar to this recipe but just not as sticky.

If I can not find fresh bamboo, can I substitute it for the canned bamboo?
Where can I get the yanang extract? How does the cover of the jar/bottle looks like?
Oh dang
What’s a climbing wada leaf? Is that what you’re saying?
What can I substitute the herbs with if I can’t find them?

Is this similar to Somlor?
My mom does this without the pork, so when i saw it i was like pork?
I LOVE gang nor mai!! But what would you suggest as a substitute to the pork belly/pork spare ribs?
I personally use cat fish and also added some quail eggs in as well.
Smoke chicken or smoke fish or no meat at all and substitute with mushrooms
I had some with ox tail and it was delicious 😋
Where can I buy that exact from?!?
Hmong people stand up! Haha. Love thr lao and hmong connection here. Great content, keep it up.
If I don't have sticky rice, what can I use as a substitute to make the broth thick? Can I use tapioca starch or glutinous rice flour instead?
My mom used to take me to go pick bamboo and she would boil and give it away. But she boils it twice I think

Love your channel. You focus on the food and recipe instead of trying to look good and speaking modest like other Lao channel
What brand of can bamboo do you recommend to make this dish?
Also how do you spell the extract?
Too sticky.
