3rd reason: looks dope as hell
i like your pfp
Tony, I am seventy five so I really don't need this particular mask, but I love to watch your videos.
You make me laugh and laughing is a good thing.
I am making this for covid not sure if the schools will let me in though
I’m a physician in Texas. I thought about making a plague Dr mask and wearing it to work. My patients may not like it. Great job. Working on one of your brief cases but waiting for buckles.
Toby Kirkwood where are you in TX? I am outside of Temple. Might have some buckles
I'm a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner in Wisconsin. I am *sooo* making one of these to wear to my clinic. I already have two Tiny Doctor masks in process on my bench.
I live in Texas too. I would totally come see you and wear mine
I'd like it and fully support it!!
Wow!! I must say you just tick all the boxes for me!! Hope you get enough support so that you can keep this up. I have been doing Leather Craft since 1984 . I am in lock down in South Africa. And your videos is something to look forward to in these times we find ourselves in. I enjoy them very much.
Thanks for the new/updated pattern Tony, now I can wear one with the alchemists hat and pouch set to get the neighbours talking :-)
2019: Halloween
2020: *Corona*
1300-2020: Looks cool asf
2021: Corona 2: Electric Boogaloo
The new format with a little history and background for the pattern and more of you and your personality is freaking great man. Keep it up and thanks for this pattern.
With or without glasses this pattern is an awesome design. Well done Tony!
I’d so much like to make one of these and donate it to my Dr. at this particular time. It would make such a fun conversational piece. Especially in light of the current conditions. Thanks for this video.
My daughter has been wanting one of these masks. Thank you for the tutorial. Now I can make her one.
Tony, all I can say is thank you sir! Went and bought the pattern, tools and leather. Oh and clicked where it matters buddy, total subscriber now!
This is epic! I ordered one of Tom Banwell's masks a few years ago. Top quality! But now that I wear glasses, I think it's time I take up leather working so I can update my Plague Doctor costume myself!
Thanks so much for this, Tony. It's so hard to find masks that work for us with glasses and I hope you have more of these in store
just watching your videos and trying one of your patterns im crazy over leather making now... thanks tony your the man bro!!!
My first leather project and it turned out awesome.
Another great design Tony 👌 and thanks as always for the giggles.
I made it! Looks so cool. I also ordered the pre made pack of rivets etc and there were enough extras to make up for my mistakes. One tip: I had to wet the eyepieces to stretch around the lenses. Looking forward to my next pattern! We
Looks awesome Tony, loving the larger lenses too, much more bug! Thank you muchly kind Sir :D
I finished my mask today and it is awesome!
Just finished this, and it is absolutely fantastic! :D
So nice to see Tony givinf credit to Mr Banwell. This is an excellent pattern and a very enjoyable build.
These are awesome. Your video is entertaining and the pattern is super easy to follow. I've made several of these for friends and family, very easy and they turn out just great, even with my mediocre skills! thank you!!
I didn't know Antonio Banderas was a Leather Crafter! I mean, how cool is that?! I love you in Desperado, you look better now too! Keep it up bro!!!
I've purchased your hardware kit and some leather, once it comes I'm purchasing your pattern. If my mask (with your pattern) turns out halfway decent, I'll purchase your subscription and start copying you.
Thank you, Tony, for you care of 'glassed' people. I've bought the pattern and will try to make the mask very soon.
Hey it’s been like a year, I was wondering if you did make the mask and if you could tell me if your glasses fit under the mask and if they fogged up at all?
@@maike__- Yes, I did make the mask in a few days after watching the video. Everything is fine with the template and I can use my glasses under the mask without any issue. I really like it.
love this design and the little bit of history of the mask
I love it. It looks great, and I shall be endeavoring to make one.
I luv your work I realized I want to learn this like a hobby..
Just made this over the last few days. It's fantastic. I am going to wear it for Hallowe'en this year.
Amazing tutorial. Can't wait to make it!!
Hi tony i made the mask almost done the pattern is great you are the best keep going :)
I am definitely adding this to my collection of Tony's patterns.
Thank you Tony, it's imposible not to suscribe your channel. 100% enjoyable even if you don't work with leather. You are an amazing artist! Regards.
Awesome build!
Excellent work!
thanks a bunch tony! I was about to make a plague doctor costume without a mask until I found this video and the mask looked awesome! so I watched the video and at the end I quickly rushed to hit the like button!
and by the way, this is your best mask I've seen on your channel!
Thank you very, very much !!!!!!!!!
the second reason was actually they thought demons took the form of birds so the masks looked like beaks so they would scare the demons off
That's not true
You... are... awesome.
Just finished this, I'm so happy with the finished product
How did it fit??
@@eduardoreyes1607 it's tough on my glasses, they pin them down on my nose. Otherwise it's very comfortable. Wearing it in my profile picture
Skatchy The Scalp thank you!! I’m planning on making one too. How much was it for the supplies??
Skatchy The Scalp thank you!! I’m planning on making it myself too. How much was it over all for the amount of leather used
@@eduardoreyes1607 about $50 for the leather, I recommend 4-5 oz. I spent about another $100 on tools
Project for Halloween!
If I paid you would you make me one lol. I just don't have the tools and this looks better than anything on the internet. 💯
I really want make this mask, but i dont have materials(
Your video is really cool, good job, i like it!
Will you be making more lenses? They aren't available on Etsy now.
Will start with mine this weekend, Result on Tony's FB page.
Love the pattern, bought and downloaded it, and found an error in the buckle assembly pattern. It's either missing a hole , or you decided to set the buckle off of the part that attaches to the mask. Also, "A1" and "A2" prints don't match at the scissor line. Aside from that, I'm happy with it. Great design.
Hi Tony! I just bought your pattern for the longer plague doctor mask, does it fit people wearing glasses too? I found the video only after my purchase.
Your work is amazing! Thank you for sharing your patterns with us
I wanna do this just for quarantine
Gran vídeo
Another pattern to buy. Just a quick question on the half face mask video. ( My first real leather craft, easier than I thought.) It doesn't quite fit my big head, is there an easy way to make it bigger; other than scaling the pattern up as a whole.? I can make the center part wider by a few millimeters.
Great tutorial. Thank you...I would love to make this. I’ve got the time, the leather and the rivets. From where do I get your pattern sir?
Link in the description
Hey guys. I’m making a pair of shoes with some chrome tanned suede. Do you think it would be possible to make this mask with the same suede if I backed it with some heavy duty cotton drill backing ? Of course I don’t expect it to be as firm but I like the idea of having matching shoes
Esta genial la máscara pero como respiras?
the 3d reason is the beak actually separates them from the sick, so they don't get 'too close' while treating them....
i think the 3rd reason was to keep a certain distance while inspecting the infected, as measuring a safe distance. i heard this somewhere so im not really sure.
I just bought the pattern a couple of days ago and finished putting the mask together last night. It is an AMAZINGLY accurate pattern, and makes for an AWESOME finished product! So, after putting it together, I bought the hood pattern too. The only leather that I had to put it together with was some 8-10 ounce water buffalo sides that I had bought to make some shoes, and it turned out great; the patterning in the leather makes it look like a scaly monster. Question though, what software are you making your patterns with?
Great tutorial! What thickness leather do you recommend for this project?
Hi, I followed one of the links above and is said, "at least 5 Oz (2 mm thick)"
So i have a small head and one size fits all, too big. I really want to make this mask. I really like it. Questions- Is this one size only? Can i customize it to my face size? I just dont want to spend the money on something i cant use cause its too big.
Where do we get the lenses?
How do you stop the lenses from fogging up? I've made three of them and even with ventilation holes, wearing a mask under it with medical tape stopping air flow towards the lenses, it still fogs within 10 seconds of putting these masks on. I've tried a handful of anti fog sprays, they made no difference.
Hello, I am also a leather worker, but i am self taught and I would like to design and sell my own work. Do you have any tips or tutorials for learning to make templates/patterns?
Master craftsman.
must be nice to have all the mats you need to do the projects you want..
Is this mask still fit people who don’t wear glasses? Love the design.
This mask is the very first „gas“ mask of the world & the put filter too in the mask! Herb , flowers , charcoal whit wool or outer stuffs etc etc
What makes the pattern not suitable for laser cutting?
im thinking of using your designs do you mind if i make some slight alterations so i can work withwhat i have to use
How do you make your patterns? Like, what software do you use?
Do you sell your mask's? Because i really love this craftsmanship, and would love to order one if you do sell them. 💜💙💜💙💜
I really want those long needles, what are they?
How much leather is needed to make this mask?
Just bought the pattern and waiting to get to where I can print it. For quick reference, what size and thickness are the lenses? Thanks.
Here is how to access your files How to print and use a Dieselpunk.ro leather pattern
Does anyone know what thickness the acrylic lenses are?
Stupid question, but do the goggles part block peripheral vision? That style to the goggles part is my favorite style I've seen on plague doctor masks but I am curious if it does if I try to make one for myself.
Roughly how much leather do I need for this?
It would be cool to put in some mirrored lenses in red, blue or purple. You can see out, but people can't see your eyes.
Is it fine to use foam instead of leather
I have a question: what alternatives are good for leather, and how do you size it properly.
Edit: typo
Is there a way I can buy 1 off you?
I want to make a plauge docter mask for Halloween but I have nowhere near enough leather to make this
What thickness of acrylic do you use to make the lenses
Idk about this one, but in his other plague doc mask video he used 3mm
I heard this somewhere but I am not sure how true it is. The beak shape was to keep lavender in to mask the smell of the body's
Lavander and basicly dryed plants to prevent the virus to get to the person wearing the mask also for the smell cause the plague smelled awfull
Can you adapt one like this for covid19 protection ?
Rip up a bunch of those blue face masks and put them inside
You should make one that incorporates a respirator for Covid-19...
can i bought this mask?? I cant make it
I have this pattern and I have watched the video, I do not see anywhere where it says what ounce leather he uses for the mask. Can someone please let me know?
I used 6 oz veg tan
Has anyone worn this mask, and if so, is it comfortable? It seems that for a comfortable fit the lower part touching one's throat area should be more concave instead of straight, as it is in the pattern now.
i have four of them, they are quite comfortable.
What is the thickness if the thread you used?
Ron Viera in pdf it is recommended to use 1mm waxed thread
I've been waiting with baited breath for a plague doctor mask with space to wear my glasses underneath
Como faço para comprar este PDF vslor por favor
How big is the hole puncher for the eyes holes?
1.5 mm
like numero 743 , felicidades nuevo suscriptor
I'm wearing one of these to the market next time I go to do something different than all of those soccer moms wearing masks with the floral patterns. Edit: I should probably add that I am smart enough to wear an actual surgical mask under this if I NEED to.
Et la ventilation?
I love this pattern, but, no breathing holes? How come?
The nature of how these masks are put together makes every stitch hole quite able to pass air.
It's not that big a deal really
08:04 what is the measure of hole puncher ?
Hey tony how much did all the leather cost was it sup expensive
Or reasonable like 100 bucks
About 40
@@DieselpunkRo oh shit that's cheap also what kind does it have to be my dads picking some leather up like what dose it have to be thickness and stuff
Tony I have all my pieces made. How do I get lenses?
He is not shipping due to the beer flu, however I made lenses out of a clear hard plastic plate I got from a craft store. Tip: do some practice cuts, then drill 2mm holes before cutting out the lense. I had some crack on me while I was drilling after cutting the lense out.
@@michaelrodriguez6210 ugh. I dont have the shop for that...thanks for the tips. Any chance you made 2 extra and you dont have the beer flu?🤣🤣
@@ncogdell1980 sorry, I didn't lol. But hey, I built the lenses on my kitchen table with a cutting board underneath. The cuts were made with a jeweler's saw like he had in the video.
Make steampunk mask like behind you.. its must be cool..
My friends asked if you sale kits were all people have to do is stitch it?
Will do as soon as the pandemic is over
I went as a plague doctor for halloween the costume didn't come with a mask so I decided to make one
