It really is good isn't it - I think thats why we all look forward to Christmas dinner so much, it's the best of all roasts - and roasts are the best in the first place!
Your prawn cocktail reminded me of Berni Inns back in the day . Prawn cocktail followed by sirloin steak , Black Forest Gateux and finished off with a delicious Irish Coffee. ( Irish whiskey, black coffee topped up with whipped cream) that’s how we impressed the ladies back in the day.
When you were pondering over which starter to have, I said out loud to the TV screen "I bet he chooses Prawn Cocktail" 🙂 Yay! Mind you, I think it would have been nice if they had provided a long teaspoon for you like in the old Berni Inn days. But of course, in true Mr Greeno fashion, good to see that you improvised with the bread for mopping up the lovely sauce :D
Found another gem there Greeno . It all looked divine, especially the roast,I would have chosen the exact same 3 options. Price wise I think it was very good value..
I can’t believe how alike we are Greeno. Everything you ordered is exactly what I would have ordered. I adore lamb. My mother’s lemon marang pie was to die for. The prawn cocktail is a bit 70’s but I LOVE it. As for using the bread to mop out the last of the Mary rose sauce… I thought I was the only knacker who did that! Brilliant video mate 👍
Hi Greeno, have been there once, we went when I taught in Leeds last year, as I do quite frequently. But we had a couple of days off mid week and ate from the "standard menu", as a starter me and my colleague had Wagyu meatballs, as a main I had a 8 oz fillet steak with beef dripping chips, creamy garlic mushrooms and a Bernaise sauce and for dessert hot chocolate fudge cake. It was a fantastic meal, top quality from A to Z, service amazing and we rolled out of there. But worth every penny and would go back for a Sunday roast in a heartbeat, it looked and sounded absolutely delicious. Great review, mate and keep up the good work!
I would happily go back for their regular steakhouse menu - it sounds like you had a tremendous feast when you visited! Glad you went for bearnaise sauce, it's the absolute king of steak sauces in my opinion. It's always great when the food, the venue and the service are all top notch, and that was my experience here. Thanks, as always, for the kind words!
Well deserved 4.5 out of 5 Greeno. As a traditionalist, although the bread looked lovely, would have preferred brown or wholemeal bread with the prawn cocktail, which, of course, should always be served, as it was here, in a glass dish, glass tumbler or even a large, sturdy wine glass for authenticity. Totally agree with you on the butter Greeno. James Martin would be having a fit seeing that meagre amount served with the bread, and the butter would, as you say, be better served in a little ramekin dish.
Oh yummy roast lame and mint sauce! Not to mention a ddelish prawn cocktail. Looking at some reviews I see you succumbed to the desssert meenu. Don't blame you, everything looked and sounded top notch. Thanks for another gfreat review Greeno 😊
People keep going on about that prawn cocktail is a 70s thing. I don’t remember having it in the 70s. It was too extravagant. I love it and always have it as a starter on Christmas Day. The roast looked really good. Tracey x
It was gthe very height of spohistication back then, but it's a starter that I love to this day, And passing that legacy on to little'un too - she loves it (albeit without a dash of tabasco for her!)
Glad to see your supporting an independent business, I wish them all the best. Extensive menu good prices. Got to say you get treated as an individual as opposed to on mass as the place next door
@deepayne1930 Apologies I thought Greeno said that with a chain restaurant Miller & ? being next door sorry I am not familiar with many restaurants as I cook at home and very well if I say it myself!
Hi Greeno. Excellent review mate. That looked really good. It's lamb with mint sauce every time for me. That looked like a really good Sunday lunch. I love York and next time we go we'll make a point of paying Tomahawk a visit.
Diolch Gerwyn! York is fab isn't it - I could while away a good few hours there wandering around, nipping in and out of interesting little hostelries for brief refreshment stops :-)
Greeno i really enjoy your videos , especially when you went around Dublin recently , your genuine and honest about the eateries you visit 👍 take care and keep up your great work 🇮🇪👍
@GreenoEats Your very welcome mate , that Yorkshire pudding looked amazing in your last video 👍 my sister and brother in law live in Sowood up the Pennines in Yorkshire 🇮🇪🏴🏴🏴🇬🇧👍
Hi Greeno wow what a meal and a half We also use mint sauce here in Australia too yummy 😋 love ❤ the rustic decor too! Another superb Food review! Take care Hugsz Helen in Australia 🇦🇺 ❤🎉
Cor lovely lunch Greeno, this place would be great for a Sunday lunch out with the family to save having to do all the work at home (especially washing up 😜) glad they got the Green light, well deserved 🤓🥩🥂
Your prawn cocktail is totally different from what we serve in Canada. The sauce used here is a combination of ketchup, horseradish and lemon . I wouldn't care for a mayonnaise based sauce as it would mask the flavor of the shrimp. We dip our prawns in the sauce as we eat them , not drown the poor things. Great choice in the lamb and the yorkshire looked fantastic. You're a lucky guy my friend. Cheers.
Greeno, everything looked amazing, looks like it’s getting colder there. Oh my only criticism was how much sauce vs prawn ratio, too much :) now I want a lamb roast lol
Very nice Sunday lunch Greeno. You can't beat it. I love a prawn cocktail, looked like nice lamb too, I'd prefer it a bit more cooked but love a bit of mint sauce on mine. And that dessert looked nice, Raspberry ripple ice cream takes me back, i don't think I've had that since i was a kid. Good memories.
Can’t remember the last time I had a Sunday roast - I’ll have to do that next weekend 👍 Mix and match sounds awesome! 😋 Can’t beat a 70s prawn cocktail - never gone out of fashion - not for me anyway! 😂 Whenever I do it I layer it so it’s not all prawns and thick sauce at the top and dry lettuce at the bottom - more manageable 👍
That meal looks really good. Here in Plymouth Mass US the restaurants are suffering from hunger. Probably in NYC where I'm originally from you might get something approaching this meal at considerable cost. Have a good one.
I love roast lamb, certainly my favourite roast meat, like you, with plenty of homemade mint sauce! No thank you to the cauliflower cheese (amazed they don't charge extra for that, most of them do these days, it seems!) Like you with mushrooms, the texture of that stuff, turns my stomach! But the rest looked very good. I would only do the roast, not the appetite these days for 3 meals. I also I only like lemon meringue served hot. My mother served it to me like that one day, when it hadn't quite set, loved it like that since, that and Bakewell tart, and no not the one with the icing on, lol!
Is a bakewell tart without the icingon a bakewell pudding? I actually planned to go to Bakewell the other day, on my way back from Yorkshire, but wasn't well, so just made my way home instead - I will go there, and I will get a pudding!!
Apart from the lamb, looks cracking! Lamb isn't a meat I have ever enjoyed but I will take your word for it that is was great. That yorkshire pudding, wow, one of my fave things in the world. Thank you for making me hungry again lol.
I am the only one in my house that eats lamb, so we don't tend to have it at home. So when I get the chance to eat it outm be sure I am grabbing it haha!
(568) Micro-shrimp in the starter. It is still VERY popular in America; however the sauce used is pretty aggressive with LOTS of fresh horseradish in it. I miss meals like this. Very few places here would offer something even faintly similar. An interesting take on Lemon Meringue Pie. The ice cream made me laugh, but hey. Nothing wrong with being daring when it comes to food. Thanks, Greeno!!!
It was a nice modern touch on a couple of classic dishes - we don't use horseradish in our prawn cocktail sauce, but some smoked parika, worcestershire sauce and a dash of tabasco gives a nice piquancy :-)
Great meal. I put the gravy into the Yorkshire pudding as well, it makes more moist as it partially soaks in. I'm glad the YORKshire pudding was perfect, otherwise that would be a bit embarrassing.
Well once again it seems the cost of living crisis is now so bad with 1 soft drink only i need £35 for a Sunday lunch, which gives me goosebumps and makes me cook at home more😮
Looked very good overall Greeno..certainly better than my experiences of a Miller and Carter Sunday lunch. Roast potatoes are generally pretty poor when eating out but they looked spot on.
I was lucky enough to go to York Uni. Fabulous city. As a student I had to keep to low cost meals to safeguard my beer budget. Went to school in the South and mum would drive me to York station and give me lunch in a hotel next to the station. First time I had seen a carvery. What bliss👍
HI Greeno,Great review looks a cozy restaurant food looked good, That sunday Roast special deal was good value Prawn Cocktail did not have many Prawns just a lot of sauce and agree with you that the presentation of the butter they could have given you more there did not seem enough to cover the bread. I like the Lamb but they could have given you more Roast Potatoes. So agree with you mark 4.5/5
Looked like a nice dinner, personally I haven’t seen roast leg of lamb in any restaurant for years, the diner s use to make it, but no longer. You can get lamb chops, rack of lamb, lamb kababs, and lamb burgers, and of course lamb dishes in Indian,Sichuan Chinese. As a pastry chef I think that was the wrong sort of pastry to use with a somewhat wet filling,as yes it doesn’t stay crisp.😊
I love prawn cocktail, often make one at home. Not sure I would want the sweet onion element but tabasco is a classic addition to it. Can't beat a great roast dinner and that looked so nice. I really liked the glassware they used as well, lovely presentation. Yep a solid 4.5.
Very good all round, and with a few tweaks it could have hit a perfect score. Overall though I was extremely happy with the food, the venue and the service.
Interesting review! This is obviously a decent chain for Sunday lunch! Main let down is the PC starter - Should be a little pot of whipped butter which are easily prepped in house & a couple of pieces of granary/brown bread. That one slice of white plus that hard butter pat looked nasty! For me stuffing does not belong with roast lamb (or beef)! for that matter & cauliflower cheese is not a veg accompaniment either - It’s a meal in its own right! Leeks maybe Also Yorkshire puds?? These days roasts have all morphed together Anyway looked tasty for reasonable money. Appreciate your efforts G Tysm ☺️
I think all roasts hae Yorkshire now, because if you order lamb and someone else orders beef, you sit here looking enviously at their Yorkshire pudding on the plate!!
Wow Greeno, looked like a fantastic Sunday roast. Im normia beef fan but the lamb looked well cooked as well.surely the prawn cocktail had plenty of "Greenory" lol Personally i wouldnt have been able for pudding but im kind if a savoury type of guy anyway. Good honest review as always! Nice one.👍👏👏♥️🏴
@ yes cagey, scrappy game spoilt but the worst referee I have seen in a long time and that’s saying something!! Had a legitimate goal disallowed too. Not a great day for Bournemouth but Brentford are certainly no mugs at all! Thanks Greeno, have a good Sunday.
Greeno completely agree you with the starter. Brown bread and proper butter in a ramekin would have been better. A whole prawn garnish on top hanging off the side of the glass would have been a nice touch. Don't understand the onion on top. Marie rose sauce is classically Tommy k, mayo, Worcestershire sauce, tobacco and a splash of brandy.
3 of my favourite dishes for a Sunday roast. Traditionally there would be cayenne pepper on the Marie Rose sauce to give it a little heat. I can never knock somewhere that offers lemon meringue pie. Looks a lovely restaurant for a family lunch treat
Oooh that lamb looks delicious. As long as there is no mint already on it I would love it ( I hate mint) but redcurrant sauce would be fab. The prawn cocktail looked spot on too. BUT no Yorkies, Yorkies are served with roast beef and roast beef only because those be the rules, at least according to my late Nanna anyway and you didn't argue with her, she was the queen of the roast dinner
My style of food nice fresh and healthy, and you have mint sauce mixed with gravy to, i totally agree pleasant decor as well . Good review thanks Greeno 🎉🐸
A great review as always Mr Greeno. No Mrs G and little un this time. See the Ivy has opened a new restaurant in the square at Bournemouth . Take care on your travels Steve 👍🍽️
Hi Steve, yes the Ivy is opening up in Bournemouth this week I believe. I will probably wait until the New Year to pop in though, I guess they may need a bit of time to get their feet under the table, especially with a busy festive period ahead!
sunday dinners are so hit and miss it puts me off ordering them when im out but this looks fantastic cannot understand wuy so many places mess up a sunday roast surely a good chef can do it with his eyes closed and one arm tied behind his back you lucked out with this one greeno : )
I guess a lot of what people love about a roast dinner is personal choice, so what might be great for you isn't for someone else - however, I defy anyone not to like this one!
Well third time lucky trying to watch your video today. Broadband being awkward. Good choice from the menu. Very pleasant decor. More butter required for the bread. The Yorkshire pudding would make a great headpiece. That looked so good. The broccoli 🥦 looked very nice. Ooooh that dessert. Yum yum yum.Pleased you enjoyed your experience. 👍
Greeno, I've said it before and I''ll say it again, next time you're in London go to the Devonshire in Soho and get the set lunch, it's the standard to which all other pubs should aspire! And their Sunday Roast is hands down best in London.
In my opinion, for a 3 course meal with the accompanying discount the price was very fair - individually the plates may have been a tad punchy price wise though.
I hear ya Greeno, though I've not seen nor eaten one in many years, I definitely recall the prawn cocktail as the pinnacle of haute cuisine in the early eighties. Especially when served in a cocktail glass.
Looked good but most people go out as a family for Sunday roast so there’s four of us that’s way too expensive I’’d stick with me local Toby carvery or pub so the kids pick what they want 😊 If I was on my own with wife I’d pay for that as it was quality. Great Vlog Greeno. Can’t beat a quality roast,Toby is more for families. Best wishes from a 🥶🏴🏴
Nice looking meal that. Any time I’d get lamb from a carvery I’d always lash on the mint sauce. My favourite dessert would be lemon meringue pie , it’s delicious.
I do love a Prawn Cocktail 😂 at Christmas. I tend to make the sauce from scratch as it's dead easy to make - add a little bit of creamed Horseradish to the sauce.... delicious
Prawn cocktail looked good but boy do I agree with you about the butter pat in foil….NO restaurant should ever put butter on the plate like that. Just looks lazy. A little ramekin makes a much better impression. It’s especially curious as everything else was beautifully presented showing that they do take care.
Hi greeno another great vid I love York and go quite regularly to watch the horse racing but never seen this place but will give it go you should maybe get commission 😅😅
Nice roast meal, but 4.5/5 is a fair rating. Thirty quid for three courses is the norm these days, but the portion of roast meat could have been a bit more generous.
Perhaps so on the meat portion, but overall I think it was good food, cooked well and served in a very pleasing environment. With a few little tweaks this could be a 5/5 experience.
Who fancies a Sunday Lunch?
I certainly do, and this one is a belter!
😂❤❤❤
Unfotunately, we dont have good sunday lunch places, it is hard to find a place that is open before 6pm here 😢 Luckily, I am a good chef 😂
Bring it on 🙂😇🐶👍
Love a Sunday lunch or Dinner.
Not that keen on Yorkshire puddings but I know I'm in the minority there.
This looked great!
Hope it was Welsh lamb 😋
Nothing better than a Sunday roast, best meal of the week!
It really is good isn't it - I think thats why we all look forward to Christmas dinner so much, it's the best of all roasts - and roasts are the best in the first place!
Looked lovely x
It certainly was Kathryn!
Always a jolly presenter Greeno 😊

Good question Jason :-) Feel free to share the content to others everyone - the more the merrier!!

Those were the days. 👍

Can't be wasting that sauce, it was yummy!!
Great review! This place ticks all the right boxes (good portion sizes too unlike many) and when done properly, prawn cocktail is one of my favourites
Same here! A lot of places don’t do prawn cocktail anymore I’ve noticed, shame.
Sometimes the old classics are the best aren't they!
It's considered a bit old fashioned in some places I guess, but I am always tempted towards it when I see it!
It looks like a lovely restaurant ❤
It was really very nice!
Found another gem there Greeno . It all looked divine, especially the roast,I would have chosen the exact same 3 options. Price wise I think it was very good value..
Agreed on all of the above :-)
I can’t believe how alike we are Greeno. Everything you ordered is exactly what I would have ordered. I adore lamb. My mother’s lemon marang pie was to die for. But worth every penny and would go back for a Sunday roast in a heartbeat, it looked and sounded absolutely delicious. Great review, mate and keep up the good work!

Yes, wholemeal breadmay have been better. James Martin would have wanted another 3 or 4 of those little butters for his bread I am sure!!
That looked lovely Greeno and a naughty dessert, great review 😀
Having travelled all that way it would have been remiss ofme not to go the whole hog right :-)
Nice review Greeno chap, your food looked scrumptious 👌👌😋 Dorset a lovely county I have friends in Alum Chine 👍😂😂
Alum Chine is a nice part of the world certainly!
Oh yummy roast lame and mint sauce! Not to mention a ddelish prawn cocktail. Looking at some reviews I see you succumbed to the desssert meenu. Don't blame you, everything looked and sounded top notch. Thanks for another gfreat review Greeno 😊
When the food is that good you have to activate the additional pudding stomach right :-)

@Hedgehogsinthemist123 yeah but that is where prawn cocktail came from.
Another great review Greeno, that lamb and mint sauce had my mouth watering!!
A smashing feed, that's for sure!
Glad to see your supporting an independent business, I wish them all the best.
Extensive menu good prices.
Got to say you get treated as an individual as opposed to on mass as the place next door
Yes, the food and service was excellent - a few little tweaks could make this an easy 5/5
It is not an independent busines and has many branches throughout the UK and Ireland.
@deepayne1930 Apologies I thought Greeno said that with a chain restaurant Miller & ? being next door sorry I am not familiar with many restaurants as I cook at home and very well if I say it myself!
He did say Stand Alone business so I took it as read!
Looks delicious, although do prefer wholemeal bread with the prawns and agree with you on the butter. Great review Greeno 😊
Yes, I think with a few minor tweaks this could be a 5/5 experience - still great though
Whole meal looked bloomin great Greeno. I am with you on the mint sauce with roast lamb. Also like mint jelly too. Another great review.
It was a cracking meal that with a few minor tweaks could have been a 5 out of 5 🙂
Looked more than decent 👏
It most certainly was!
Hi Greeno. Excellent review mate. That looked really good. It's lamb with mint sauce every time for me. That looked like a really good Sunday lunch. I love York and next time we go we'll make a point of paying Tomahawk a visit.

Yes, the starter and dessert I picked kind of for nostalgic reasons - I loved raspberry ripple as a kid!

I think all roasts hae Yorkshire now, because if you order lamb and someone else orders beef, you sit here looking enviously at their Yorkshire pudding on the plate!!
That has to be about one of the best presentations of a Sunday Roast and the price was good considering.
Yes, it really was very good - and reasonably priced - a good find!
Great video
Thanks Todd!
Whippet Inn is the best Sunday Dinner in York
Just had a look at their menu, it certainly reads well!!
Wow Greeno, looked like a fantastic Sunday roast. Im normia beef fan but the lamb looked well cooked as well.surely the prawn cocktail had plenty of "Greenory" lol
Personally i wouldnt have been able for pudding but im kind if a savoury type of guy anyway. Good honest review as always! Nice one.👍👏👏♥️🏴
I'm like you, normally forego a pudding, but if I have gone all the way to York to review a roast, then I better try one :-)
Looked delicious Greeno , one criticism tho probably down to personal choice , should have covered the yorkshire in gravy 😋
Yes, when eating a roast at home, it's almost like a soup the amount of gravy I have haha!
Top video Greeno! I’m off to get the stuff for a roast this afternoon now! The main looked lovely 😋 enjoy the rest of your Sunday pal! ….Smithy
Cheers Smithy! Left it a bit late against Crewe yesterday didn't you? Hope you enjoy your roast dinner pal :-)
@@theabandonedhunter3604 if we'd kept Travers in goal rather than bringing Kepa back in then we may have had a different result...
@ I didn’t know that but he deserves a run of games from what I’ve seen recently!
I hope you mean tabasco rather than tobacco haha :-) Autocorrect is a swine sometimes isn't it ! I agree with your points though.
@GreenoEats as you say Greeno auto correct is a nightmare
3 of my favourite dishes for a Sunday roast. Traditionally there would be cayenne pepper on the Marie Rose sauce to give it a little heat. I can never knock somewhere that offers lemon meringue pie. Looks a lovely restaurant for a family lunch treat
Yes - classic dishes done pretty well. With a few tweaks this could have been a 5 out of 5!
Hi greeno , I absolutely love prawn cocktail as a stater and lamb is my favourite meat on a Sunday roast !!! Wow looked delicious
You'd have loved this place then!!
Sounds like I wouldn't argue with your Nanna (but I might try and sneak a Yorkie while she wasn't looking!)
My style of food nice fresh and healthy, and you have mint sauce mixed with gravy to, i totally agree pleasant decor as well . Good review thanks Greeno 🎉🐸
Thanks, glad you enjoyed it !!
@ Thanks for reply. Our daughter and her husband had an invitation for opening night. Haven’t heard how it went yet. 👍🍽️
sunday dinners are so hit and miss it puts me off ordering them when im out but this looks fantastic cannot understand wuy so many places mess up a sunday roast surely a good chef can do it with his eyes closed and one arm tied behind his back you lucked out with this one greeno : )
I guess a lot of what people love about a roast dinner is personal choice, so what might be great for you isn't for someone else - however, I defy anyone not to like this one!
@@GreenoEats fair comment mate : )
That was certainly a bit special, hope Mrs Greeno enjoyed it too 🙂👍
When I filmed this Mrs Greeno was around 1500 miles away visiting her parents haha!
@GreenoEats excellent filming, I would never have guessed 🤔
@@GreenoEats
Now the starter and the dessert makes sense 😂
@@NigelOrmsvik Thanks 🙂
@@brianiswrong haha - nobody telling me not to 🙂
Well third time lucky trying to watch your video today. 👍
The Yorkie could have made an interesting fascinator I guess haha. A very enjoyable lunch at a very fair price I thought. Lots to recommend about it!!
@@GreenoEats Definitely a decent price for three courses. 👍
People diss the prawn cocktail, but you put it on a menu and it sells.
Correct !!
Greeno, I've said it before and I''ll say it again, next time you're in London go to the Devonshire in Soho and get the set lunch, it's the standard to which all other pubs should aspire! And their Sunday Roast is hands down best in London.
I keep checking, and whenever I do the reservations are all booked up - I wll keep looking though!!
Thought it was a bit tad pricey for a lunch but hey ,you are in the City of York ! Glad you enjoyed 😊
In my opinion, for a 3 course meal with the accompanying discount the price was very fair - individually the plates may have been a tad punchy price wise though.
It’s York! Heavily touristic! The price reflects it
Oh my goodness this is amazing, I love Lamb and mint sauce😋👍
Yes, it was a cracking lunch!
I hear ya Greeno, though I've not seen nor eaten one in many years, I definitely recall the prawn cocktail as the pinnacle of haute cuisine in the early eighties. Especially when served in a cocktail glass.
Indeed - the level of sophistication this showed back in the day was incredible!
I love York! Used to visit a lot when I was at Uni in Huddersfield.
It's such a lovely city - must take Mrs Greeno up there one day
That looked great for the price .nice looking place and York is amazing been there a few times a few years ago 👍
Yes, I think the price was very fair for the quality of food.
I roast my cauliflower florets when I make cauliflower cheese. There used to be a fantastic restaurant in York called the Go Down.🇨🇦🇨🇦
I bet roasting the cauliflower first really adds to the flavour - the nuttiness you get from roasting would really complement the cheesy sauce.
Best wishes from a 🥶🏴🏴
I agree with you, for a lunch as a couple, or with adult friends thisis perfect - a carvery is better with kids so they can pick what they like :-)
Nice looking meal that. Any time I’d get lamb from a carvery I’d always lash on the mint sauce. My favourite dessert would be lemon meringue pie , it’s delicious.
This place would be right up your strasse then Kian !!
I'd have a prawn cocktail too Have a nice day Greeno ❤
It's a classic start to a meal isn't it !!
Looks like I missed out by not being able to meet up with you in York. That Sunday roast looked pretty good (although not as good as mine.....!!)
It was a cracker Tim (although I am sure yours would be better of course!)
I do love a Prawn Cocktail 😂 at Christmas. I tend to make the sauce from scratch as it's dead easy to make - add a little bit of creamed Horseradish to the sauce.... delicious
I like the idea of horseradish in the sauce for a little extra zing!
You naughty boy, visiting York without inviting Digital Grandma Greeno here who lives in York.😢
I consider myself suitably admonished!
I think the little wrapped butter was a nod to the 70's as well perhaps.
Maybe - personally I just didn't think it sat right.
HI yummy for me main course presentation was a work of art 😂 good video 👍👍👌👌
Definitely feeding the eye before feeding the belly weren't they!
Prawn cocktail looked good but boy do I agree with you about the butter pat in foil….NO restaurant should ever put butter on the plate like that. Just looks lazy. A little ramekin makes a much better impression. It’s especially curious as everything else was beautifully presented showing that they do take care.
But a ramekin of butter - while looking better - would need to be washed afterwards.
Yes, it did stand out as a bit odd given how much care and attention was given to everything else
@@rosemarymee true, but at least the little wrapper on the butter wouldn't be put in the bin.
The kitchen porters are not massively overworked and underpaid after all.
Heaven forbid you have to open your own butter…
well greeno , that meal looks delicious, I bet that gets your green light,
If you made it to the end of the video you will know either way!
My dad used to keep 2 sheep a year and feed them on apples from a local orchard the meat was something else
I bet that meat was absolutely delicious!!
That was a great Sunday lunch as a 3-course meal. 👍👍
It absolutely was - very good indeed
Love York. What a great comfort meal.
It's a fabulous city to have a mooch around !
Hi greeno another great vid I love York and go quite regularly to watch the horse racing but never seen this place but will give it go you should maybe get commission 😅😅
Haha - I am happy if people follow up on my recommendations, and give good businesses their custom. That's what it's all about for me.
That’s not a bad deal for that kind of quality. Tried a alcohol free Guinness after you’re recommendation, very good 👍
Yes, decent dealfor more than decent food. Glad you enjoyed the alcohol free Guinness, it's very acceptable isn't it !
Lunch looked delicious 😋 x
It really was Joanne, a good find this one!
One of the first things I had on my recent visit to the UK was a Sunday roast. It's one thing I miss about living there.
It's simple food really, a roasted meat and vegetables, but when it's done well it's an absolute delight!
@GreenoEats Absolutely. Can't beat it! 🙂
Nice roast meal, but 4.5/5 is a fair rating. Thirty quid for three courses is the norm these days, but the portion of roast meat could have been a bit more generous.
Perhaps so on the meat portion, but overall I think it was good food, cooked well and served in a very pleasing environment. With a few little tweaks this could be a 5/5 experience.
Cool Runic tattoo Greeno , I am Norwegian so my eyes were drawn to it immediately .-)
Ah thanks, I guess you know what it says then :-)
@@GreenoEats we did learn Runic in school when I was young but as I have not had much use for it I forget how to read it lol
Greeno I absolutely love a roast parsnip, especially with roast beef or Christmas dinner.
I find them a touch sweet normally, but these ones were great!
