I clicked this thinking it would just be weapons that don’t exist in real life, but it ended up being more interesting, lending more knowledge of the way the game was designed.
You can pickup the crowbar at the storage room, putting the cart with the sample on a determined spot you can get the vortigaunts that appear during the scene to not despawn, there is also a guard in the next room which you can bring to be killed by the vortigaunt, which therefore gives you access to the pistol early making the crowbar at the storage room equitable, because of this trick you can beat the entire game without the crowbar
it would be more chaotic if black mesa personnel could hold weapons (yes i know barney and otis have the deagle and pistol, what i mean is we need variety)

In that scene in Blue Shift you don't have any weapons so they probably made it a prop just to prevent you from picking it up and causing some shenanigans.

Somewhere (Blast pit too, maybe?) And then with the one he gives him in episode one, he doesn't talk about it being Gordon's anymore: it's the one he had back in black Mesa. Now I realise Barney somehow (probably) lost his weapons during the teleportation, so the crowbar he gives Gordon there, is actually the one from the gate.
