I've been searching for a Advent groupset since PLP reviewed it. Since I couldn't find it I settled for the R8 2x setup with a 50/34 and 12-46 cassette. It doesn't quite have the top end a more expensive setup would have but the range is pretty nice and the gaps aren't horrible. That is if you don't mind bouncing back and forth between the front rings a lot to find the perfect gear
I also have small hands -- and I would love to know how the size and reach feel as compared to the Sensah levers. Maybe that can be incorporated into your comparison video as well!
I’ll be picking up the derailleur and cassette, but I can’t stand the aesthetics of the drop bar levers. I’ll likely use some sram apex or rival shifters (plus I like srams doubletap more). Maybe higher end levers if I decide to do hydraulic brakes. I’m not sure
I keep looking and I can’t find your comparison between the Advent X and Sensah groupsets. Did I miss it or did it never happen? I’m trying to build up a project and would love to see your direct comparison.
@Mohd over the weekend, I managed to order the cassette from bike24 in Germany, the derailleur from some motorcycle part store and the trigger shifter from Amazon 3rd party seller (365 cycles, they’re good). Ymmv, of course.
No long term review but it worked well while I had the drivetrain on this bike. I had a series on “converting it into a 90s mtb” where I used the trigger shifter option and it always worked well.
I've got this groupset....and even the 9 spd version on my wish list...lol I don't mind the external routed gear cable as that's been mainly the ones I have owned on drop bar bikes. Side question: I've also got that Roswheel Attack frame bag on amazon list. What do you think of it?
I doubt it would especially with the clutch on the RD, mayyyybbeee if you keep that off and you swapped the Left Shifter out, but I doubt it would work
Make sure to watch my review on the sensah group, I think the shift action feels more like sram on this advent group, the shifts are softer or smoother feeling like shimano on the sensah group
is possible to adjust the reach of the lever like Shimano and SRAM? you mentioned that you had small hands but mine are even smaller! or do I need to use a shim?
Microshift clutch derailleurs are good value for money and completely functional BUT not as thoroughly serviceable as (bit) more expensive SRAM and Shimano ones. I went back to Shimano and SRAM when I discovered that I couldn't fully disassemble my Microshift XCD 11 speed derailleur. If you can afford it Shimano and SRAM derailleurs are just better quality.
@@LockedinCycling im newbee into biking, can help to articulate more “ only seeing problem of having the RD with clutch still on?” tia and by the way, the ask in view of flat bar setup :) (hybrid bike) thanks!
@@adventurenowtv7274 the clutch adds tension to keep chain from slapping , but can hurt it if u were shifting up from smaller front chainring to a bigger one
@@LockedinCycling thanks for clarification. If i opt to use this Adventx to a 3x chainring setup, i must remember to always keep the clutch off. But i will loose that clutch thing functionality though. Probably a tradeoff i can take if budget wise to be consider..:)
@@LockedinCycling one more ask bro, a bike chain with 10EL (10 speed) 116L , able to use with this Microshift AdventX group set to pair with Crankset: 28/38/48T? what are your thoughts, any alternatives?

So glad I pulled the trigger on the whole set for my Ogre months ago when I found some stray bits on ebay and WW Cyclery
I put this on a specialized sirrus x and it rips baby!
Thanks Mike! I managed to piece together the trigger version of this groupset from 3 different sites a few days ago. Looking forward to trying it out!
sounds and looks nice. but I'm so cheap, not sure if or when I'd ever buy it myself.
Thanks for the review, it's perfect for upgrading my Shimano Sora 9 speed which can only handle a 32 tooth max.
Fine for gravel but ive found for long-term road uses you're at a disadvantage
I also have small hands -- and I would love to know how the size and reach feel as compared to the Sensah levers. Maybe that can be incorporated into your comparison video as well!
I will keep that in mind, but they feel about the same as far as the reach goes

Send me a video if those work cause I’ve wondered
Wow the price has sure come down
Very good review
How is the cassette holding up right now? Thanks! @Locked In
I have taken it off in recent videos since I went 11 speed but it held up great prior
@@LockedinCycling Thanks! Appreciate the response. Looking forward to more content from you, cheers!
Hey I was wondering if you have any recommendations for a 42t chainring with this groupset.
Thanks!
Wolftooth, Garbaruk, All make options for basically any crankset on the market

Yea I have a review for both so you can compare
Very interested but cannot seem to figure out where to buy this groupset!
Yea its still hard to find

Bike24 had the whole group a couple weeks ago, sad I didn’t order it then.
Did you do a long term review of this drivetrain and how many miles in tot did you put on this
No long term review but it worked well while I had the drivetrain on this bike. I had a series on “converting it into a 90s mtb” where I used the trigger shifter option and it always worked well.
Have you tried 11-speed casette on the Advent X brifters?
I have if you watch my video where I put a 9-50 t cassette but you have to tube out the 11th gear since the shifters only have 10 clicks
@@LockedinCycling wow, thanks. I'll look up for that video you made.
Is it possible to use that lever for a rim break or can i use the centos lever with it.?????

i have a review of all those roswheel bags on my channel where i mention my thoughts
@@LockedinCycling ok found it. Revised question... after a year of ownership... how do you like them (especially the frame and 10L saddle bag) now?
@@kevinjfeeney77 I’ve used the frame bag here and there when filming , the saddle bag I use on my bike packing trips, still holding up well.
how would this be on road bike gravel?
Is it possible to pair this with 2x chainring+derailleur to recreate a 2x10? lol
I doubt it would especially with the clutch on the RD, mayyyybbeee if you keep that off and you swapped the Left Shifter out, but I doubt it would work
Are these shifters very different to the Microshift XLE ? They look very similar...
As far as I know those are not compatible
is the left brake lever also double as a shifter? or it's only intended to be a brake lever
It is just a brake lever
How about the brake lever pull? closer to shimano road or SRAM? i am curious as sensah SRX one is shorter, like SRAM.
Make sure to watch my review on the sensah group, I think the shift action feels more like sram on this advent group, the shifts are softer or smoother feeling like shimano on the sensah group

I don’t think it has reach adjustment, I haven’t seen any shims for that
Will the sti be compatible on stock tektro hydraulic brakes?
No the shifters and calipers need to be both hydro , but you can do a hybrid caliper upgrade
Sensah srx pro or this?? 🤣

Has anyone managed to figure out where to buy this online? Seems elusive.
It’s tough cause they sell put so fast
Does i compatible with shimano shifter?
I didn’t try to see if it is compatible.
Which crankset did you run it with?
IT was the stock prowheel crankset on the poseidon redwood, but as long as you have a 1x 10 speed compatible chainring the crankset doesnt matter
It's a bit cheaper now
Not with COVID making shipping and material costs go up
Can also get a smaller chain ring if you want also
Use 11 speed cassettes and take 1 cog off.
Hi. Sensah SRX 1x11 is better and cheaper. 😉
Hi! Anyone experienced using this Microshift AdventX group set (RD, cassette, Rear shifter) to match with FD in a 3x crank setup?
any pros and cons?
Only problem I can see is having the Rd with clutch still on.
