That is aside from the struggling 63 year old nerds with failing short term memory who still need work to get together some equity for one last try to get it right (like myself). Maybe 10/15 years ago I would have had the mental capacity to confidently navigate through these steps but the mountain in-front of me is growing every day and it’s starting to seem an impossible proposition. The real kicker was that there is still a tax element required. I thought that was the purpose of some of the extensive tasks on the path to finally making a trade, the anonymity, not too mention the fees- which by the way Casey - aside from your exhaustive and amazing efforts to explain or link to an explanation, still left me guessing - probably a me thing. Portfolio tracking is the difficult part for me at the moment. I have coinstats, but I'm still struggling on getting all the coins on the app. Some coins don't carry over the history, like average cost spent on the coin. I understand that storing a piece of paper with phrase words in multiple locations increases that chance that you will not lose just a single record of the passphrase. But in doing this, don't you also increase the chances that one of these manual documents is discovered by somebody else? If I understand correctly, just one of those pieces of paper with the passphrase could result in accessing the account and redirecting funds. Is there some game theory analysis on the trade offs between security from loss versus security from discovery. It would seem like the strategy of loss prevention versus discover prevention are working against one another.

What is the difference between malware, vpn, and the coinguard? You used coinbase to create a wallet, but does this require all the kyc's that using the whole coinbase app requires?
