Better to have Japan as an ally instead of an enemy. It's gestures like this - respecting their traditions and honoring the memory of their war dead - that will help to ensure they remain an ally.

2:01 “it reminds us not to forget the past”
That’s rich coming from a country that wouldn’t teach their kids WW2 history at school.
The only things kids knew is when they were bombed by US but they didn’t know that Japan is the most hated country in Asia back in WW2.

Except that Japan does teach their kids about WW2. Yes there is a trend amongst some nationalist politicians to downplay the atrocities that Japan committed during WW2. But we all know that your real aim with your post is to spread hatred. (spot the fact that your "channel" has no content on it). 80 years after WW2 you're still wittering on about it. You could talk about modern atrocities. But I guess that wouldn't fit your agenda would it? Way to go posting this on a video about reconciliation *slow hand clap*

As a Japanese who was born and grew up there for 29 years, I can say you are wrong. They did teach us about the war crimes committed by Japan during WW2, oppression that many Asian people suffered from etc. There are some nationalists who want to pretend that didn’t happen, but majority of us do know what happened.

Well at lest it isn’t the most hated country in Asia anymore

Im guessing your American mate 😅 did your country teach you about the 3 times you bombed Japanese city's and killed up to 300,000 inoccent people?
Makes the bombing of pearl harbour and the bombing of Darwin (which I believe was completely military no civilian personal) seem small.
Why were they the most hated asain country in ww2?
Cause they cut the heads off there defeated enemies?
They blew themselves up with Australia english or American medics?
      They used civilians as shields?
England drowned 20,000 people when they busted a bunch of dams to stop Germans having water supply drowning heaps of small towns
The French killed 300 German pow's Germany did the same to USA around the bulge (malmandy masscure I think it was?)
Australian troops in Europe killed surrendering Germans we did the same to surrendering Japanese
America fire bombed Tokyo killing 50,000 in one night..
History is written by the victors.
Every side involved has dirty hands. But that's not the point.
So what 🤷🏻 Germany started up both world wars
We lost 1000s of Australians in ww1 at Gallipoli a place we shouldn't have even been. We invaded turkey we lost 🤷🏻
What we should be doing is remembering the past events but not holding a grudge over it but rather hounoring it
I love and respect all Turkish and Japanese people , the two nations Australia was majorly at war with, cause that is how we respect the fallen on all sides
They fought and died so we wouldn't have to so let's not start ww3 and all get along ❤️🇦🇺🇯🇵🇺🇲🇩🇪🇮🇹🇹🇷

@@yukiokai2650same with the German people and the holocaust. They do teach it at schools and there is proof and signs that showed it did happen, many Germans acknowledge it but there is still a handful that refuse to believe there country ever did such a thing .
It's those people who are the ones at risk of starting new wars in the future. We remember we honour we respect
On a side note, I can't wait to visit your country Japanese culture is just so fascinating and I would very much like to visit the dome at Hiroshima as I have been told it's a very sober and eye opening experience
And of course the old capital Kyoto and the famed castle as when I was a kid i adored Samurai and my favourite movie was the last samurai 🤣🤦🏻 still a better love story then twilight.

They gave it back? The Japanese military of WW2 sneak attacked us, killing almost three thousand in one day. Then went on for years killing innocent civilians, slaughtering prisoners of war and forcing families to jump from cliff in Okinawa…. And we give the flag back….

If you want the world to be a better place, you have to be a human and forgive your monsters. If you carry on the hate, that hate will spill into the young generations of both sides, ensuring that the hate and conflict will continue.
