OMG this is a lifesaver for me. I have been looking for a tutorial to help me start calligraphy and I have been unsuccessful until now. I know I am late but this is truly a lifesaver for me THANK YOU SO MUCH.
GREAT video. Love the way your set up is designed. Curious where to buy pointed great nibs For copperplate.Like LENOARD EF Principle. Any ideas? Also where to buy. Calligraphy nibs. Which nib gives best flow with good Hair lines .Curious to know which paper to buy for calligraphy;Bo
This helped me out big time. I just got my kit yesterday and I got the pen with the ink that you put inside of it and I couldn't figure out why it wasn't working. Now I realize that I wasn't hold it right.
be sure to have your nibs clear of any start oils. Use a lighter, windex, hot water or stick it in a potato for 10-15min. If you aren't angled and postured well when writing then that too is a possible factor. Be sure that when you write that your elbow is straight and not bending. Extreme note! Be relaxed! Don't tense when writing and give your hand the practice it needs to get the hang of writing lightly! Hope this helped.
Don't touch a nib with your fingers, you can put grease on it which can affect ink flow. (oooh, I have oils on the tip... lol). New nibs often need prepped with a flame, acetone or toothpaste to get rid of the manufacturing residue. I would also suggest this nib is a bit too far out for most beginners, best to have the tip of the tines level with the midline of the holder. Also consider Rhodia paper for practice.
@@srijyotimahapatra6134 yes, the higher quality the better. The problem with low quality paper is catching on the nib and bleeding. You may have to try different brands, but one I've seen mentioned on forums is HP premium choice laserjet paper, but I have no personal experience of this.
One of my probs is if my pen is newly dipped, i often get a thicker upstroke

Why did you stop making videos?
Where to buy in online?
Should tell them about cleaning the nip, before you dip into the ink !
If you would pronounce the letter T you would sound more professional. Saying “ mar it” instead of market sounds like baby talk.
Matt Stewart her pronunciation has nothing to do with this- and the example you gave isn’t even needing to pronounce a T, it’s the K. Don’t be rude.
Interesting I didn’t even notice anything strange from her speech as I watched
Matt, you must a finely trained 👂 because I listened twice. 🙄
