Hey Colin nice to see you back making a new vid and you couldn't have done it for a nicer guy RK is a great guy , meet him and Mike a few times 👍throughout the years , nice to see you back
Yep I'm still alive LOL! Just been really really busy but I'm still trying post when I can! Yeah Roadking and Mike are awesome guys! Hope to see them again soon! Thanks for Watching!
I used to have a Windmere desk fan from the same era. Loved the startup sound and sky blue blades, hated everything else (especially the switch being on the motor housing) so I just disposed of it via a thrift shop. Last time I was there I actually saw it running in the back of the store, so at least it’s getting some use and not just sitting in my collection and getting covered in dust..
My dad kept a newer (90's era) plastic oscillating pedestal fan running 365 days a year in his basement for years. The motor seized up after about ten years of running with zero maintenance. I took the motor apart to free it up and lubed it up good. The motor was part of the plastic housing, not a metal motor like yours you got from Roadking. That fan ran nonstop for another 11 years, until I sold the house, so I guess the newer plastic fans are not that bad, even though I am not a fan of them.... I like the older metal fans the most. I find with old electric clocks, if the windings are loose they hum. Maybe the windings are loose in the motor housing causing a noisy motor.
Wow I'm surprised it took that much abuse lol. These newer plastic fans are really the last of the half way decent fans. While they are certainly no Emerson they move air and are fairly durable. Once you get into the early 2000's, however, you see a severe drop off in quality, durability, and performance.... Thanks for Watching!
I have a windmere fan of this size too, but from the 80's made in Taiwan with carry handle on the back grill and I also have a delonghi fan with mesh grills.
Thanks! Yeah it would be awesome to meet up at some point! It's been hard to travel to shows due to me usually jamming so much stuff into my summer breaks from school but hopefully one day I can make it to that show.... Hoping to make it back to Coolspring again at some point soon first tho. In the meantime, you can always take a trip to Long Island NY for our summer show this year if you are up for a trip LOL! Thanks for Watching!
Its a 16" NASA branded thing thats NOS with the box.... Unfortuatnely took some damage to the base and blade but it runs well and can be fixed. Offering it up for sale online and at Tom's meet this summer because it needs to go lol. Thanks for Watching!
Well done Bud!! That thing cleaned up pretty good!!☻
Thanks buddy! Yeah it's almost good as new again! Thanks again for thinking of me! :) Hope to meet up again soon!

Nice! I think I know what fan you are talking about and if so they aren't half bad fans at all! Thanks for Watching!
Roadking is one of my RUclips heroes. I'm pretty sure I found out about you from one of his videos.
Yeah he's awesome! That shout out he gave me that one time really helped my channel grow quite a bit! Thanks for Watching!
Nice job! 👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks Bono!
