Hello, everybody out there in social media land, it's your personal injury and family law attorney, Derek Bernstein here talking car accident stuff today, and the question I got today was do I need a lawyer for a car accident settlement? So do you need a lawyer to settle a car accident, crash case? No, you don't, but you don't need a mechanic to take out the engine in El Dorado and you don't need an arborist to cut down a tree but I really recommended if you want it done. So a lot of people come and say, well, I can negotiate with them, can I? Sure. Except the thing is they know you don't know what you're doing, they're going offer you way less so if you're afraid of the cost of an attorney, most of the time, not always, but most of the time, the increase that we as attorneys will get you compared to you doing it on your own will offset our costs as well as the fact that attorney can get your medical bills negotiated as well because we work with these doctors all the time, we have a good working relationship different than when you call up and you say, hey doctor so, and so I want my bill cut in half they go, who have are you? I've never met you after this. I never will see you again. Screw you, take what I offer, and let it go.
So do you need a lawyer after accident case? No, but should you get a lawyer? Yes. Yes. As a personal injury attorney myself, the only reason I exist is because these insurance companies are not fair. They're not fair in your car, they're not fair in your injuries, they're not fair at all. That's why we exist.
